Critics Aghast As Trump Keeps Word About No More Wars

Donald Trump came into office promising to not start any new wars and to get us out of the old ones our feckless elite had dragged us into, and now that he’s doing it in Syria the usual suspects are outraged. How dare he actually deliver on his promise not to have anymore of our precious warriors shipped home in boxes after getting killed on battlefields we can’t even pronounce, while refereeing conflicts that began long before America was a thing, in campaigns without any kind of coherent objective?

Conservatives like me still think of ourselves as hawks, but after hard experience we have learned to be hawkish only where America’s interests are directly at stake. We’re not doves. We’re just not going to spill our troops’ blood when we do not absolutely have to. The elite may not like our attitude, but then it’s generally not the elite that ends up having to bury its sons, daughters, husbands and wives. We do.

I generally like the Kurds. I generally dislike the Turks. But they’ve been killing each other for a long time and no one has yet offered a sufficient reason why America should stick its troops in the crossfire between them. We hear words like “betrayal” tossed around, often by people whose track record re: honor is (charitably) lacking, but that assumes America had a say in this latest round ramping up. If the Turks are intent on invading, a firm “No” from the Oval office is not going to stop a battalion of Leopard tanks. If you want to stop them, you have to be prepared to stop them. That means war, and the president – along with millions of us – say “No thanks.”

Some solid conservatives who I respect disagree with the president’s take. They point out that the Kurds have fought with us and that they’ve had a raw deal. They also point to the Turks’ sordid history of genocide, like with the Armenians. These are good points – I spent 16 months away from my family deployed helping Muslims avoid a genocide in Kosovo – but they are not good enough to justify us doing the only thing that can stop the Turks if they are committed to their threatened aggression, i.e., being willing to have American troops fight them.

Let’s have some real talk, because the Orange Man Bad side of the debate – the side that suddenly is all hopped up on war juice – offers nothing but hack clichés to support its amorphous position. The Kurds helped destroy ISIS, true. It’s also true that the Kurds would have fought ISIS anyway, since the psycho caliphate was right next door. Let’s be honest – the Kurds didn’t show up for us at Normandy or Inchon or Khe Sanh or Kandahar. The Syrian Kurds allied with us in their homeland because we shared a common interest in wiping out the head-lopping freak show that was ISIS. Moreover, all Kurds are not equal. The PKK – the Kurdistan Workers’ Party – are a bunch of commie terrorists who have been fighting the Turks for a long time. Those reds are no friends of ours, and it’s their antics that seem to be inspiring the Turkish campaign. I have little use for the Turks, but they aren’t just picking this fight for Schiffs and giggles. The fact that it’s all so confusing is a really, really good reason for us to stay the hell out of it.

Moreover, we keep hearing about our “obligation” to the Kurds, but who is the genius who promised the Kurds that if Turkey attacked the United States would go to war? Would that promise be binding on us if it were? After all, I don’t recall my senators voting on a treaty – after debate and with accountability to us voters – agreeing to put American lives on the line to protect the sovereignty of hypothetical Kurdistan. This idea that some sort of obligation for America to defend another people can arise outside the treaty ratification process is as bizarre as it is unconstitutional. Now we’re supposed to shed our blood because our elites feel we owe it to foreign strangers?

I do note that there is one treaty, duly signed and ratified by the Senate, at play here. That’s the NATO treaty under which we agreed to go to war to defend Turkey if attacked. If Erdogan, that thug, were more cunning he would assert Article 5 and demand NATO forces come to Turkey’s defense against the cross-border attacks by the PKK.

None of this is to justify what Turkey is doing. I hope the tough and brave non-communist Kurds bloody these bullies’ noses. But I cannot think of any way to adequately explain to the mom and dad of a 20-year-old 82nd Airborne 11 Bravo paratrooper from Rancho Cucamonga why their son got his head blown off in Northern Syria fighting the Kurd’s war for them.

In the Army War College, they drilled into us the necessity of a clearly defined objective as the foundation of every successful military operation. If you do not know exactly what you wish to achieve, you cannot plan and execute effectively. Okay critics, what’s our proposed objective in Northern Syria? Stop with the clichés about “betrayals” and “abandoning allies” and tell me – exactly – what we would seek to achieve. And then tell me – again, exactly – how many dead Americans we should sacrifice to achieve it.

We have our own national interests to protect. The threat to America is not Turks imposing a security zone a few miles inside Syria. It’s China pumping out a couple warships a month and deploying new carrier-killing missiles using tech they steal from us under the noses of our politically preoccupied FBI and CIA. If the president’s critics in Congress really want to be tough guys, let them pass a declaration of war and let them sign their names to the butcher’s bill instead of trying to get Trump to walk out to the end of the branch so they can saw it off.

Let’s be clear – and I need to be crystal clear because the gung ho gang’s MO is to mischaracterize its opponents’ views to distract from the strategic bankruptcy of its own – that fighting for the Kurds would not be immoral. It’s a good cause, but we can’t intervene every time there’s a good cause. Iraq was a good cause, and a disaster. I’d come back on active duty, if the Army was that desperate, and serve there proudly. Our troops will do everything we ask of them and more. They will lay down their lives for this cause if we send them. And that’s the point.

We owe our men and women in uniform the moral courage to make the hard decision not to fight, even when we see a grievous wrong unfolding, where there is no compelling national interest and no clear objective. We can’t garrison Syria forever. We can’t right every wrong around the globe.

How many dead Americans is it worth to stop the Turks and Kurds from brawling? I, and our president, say, “Exactly none.” Those who disagree owe us all an exact number of their own.

What happens if the liberals achieve their dream of an America they rule over? Check out my action-packed yet hilarious novels of America torn apart by the kind of liberal fascism the Democrats promise, People’s Republic, Indian Country and Wildfire (plus Book Number IV comes out this November)! They are guaranteed to annoy and offend both liberals and the cruise-shilling hacks of Conservative, Inc.! Ahoy!

18 years in Afghanistan. Nearly as many in Iraq. We bombed the crap out of Libya, left four Americans there to die, and our potential future President was quoted as saying what difference does it make.
Well after all this democracy and nation building, pulling out of Syria should be the most common sense action to take.
But not according to both sides in DC. The fact that Socialist and RINOs are pissed must mean Trump did the right thing.

What will our jewish masters in tel aviv and jerusalem think?

The dual citizenship congress critters are foaming at the mouth because president Trump is finally saying NO to the jewish lobby.

The Knesset west (U S congress) will be in deep trouble with their jewish masters if they are not able to countermand president Trump’s decision to get out of Syria.

If jews want war let it declare war themselves.

Of course, israel’s third-rate military got its nose bloodied in Lebanon twice and doesn’t want to suffer another loss…

They’ve done pretty damned well surviving for being “third rate”. Given the fact the Jews are outnumbered and surrounded by a bunch of illiterate, ill-trained, unmotivated Arabs makes a difference.
Besides, nobody does well against layered defenses, minefields, and digging people out of hidden bunkers. You also seem to be forgetting the Arabs had their asses handed to them more than once, and on one occasion, in six days in different terrain. Things have evened up a bit since 1967 due to technology and weapons deals.

Ed tot you obviously do not know displaced people from the Palestine who were pushed out by the IDF because they lived in a Muslim area . Christians that lived there tracing their families back to Adam . Just because the British and Americans decided to carve up somebody else’s country . I know a man who was away attending college in Jordon at that time and IDF denied him the right to return home during a semester break . That made things a bit rough , his mom and dad appealed to the local government only to be belittled and laughed at ! Their attitude “ Those God Damn Fucking Jews”!
Wow why would you feel the same way if it were your family ?

I doubt the Ees-rah-ay-lees are unhappy at all with Trump’s decision. One might try looking at a map. Turkey’s move is going to place a Sunni buffer zone between Sunni Turkey and Alewite dominated Syria. This move also closes the land route from Iran to the Israeli border via Iraq and Syria to Lebanon.
As for this neocon fantasy of an independent Kurdistan? 900 years ago there was this dude, Joseph son of Job more widely known as Salahuddin or “Saladin” who was the greatest Muslim Cavalier of all time. He was pragmatic and allied with Christians when circumstances called for it. He was above all a practitioner of chivalry. He ruled an empire from Egypt and N. Africa to Syria and beyond. He was a Kurd and never declared a Kurdistan though he could have any time he wished to.

Schlichter makes some very good points. Not all Kurdish groups can be painted with the same brush.
On my first overseas assignment back in 1985 the Turks were dealing with Kurds who’d kidnapped British citizens. The Kurds holed up in an isolated farmhouse and refused to negotiate multiple times and wouldn’t release their hostages. The Turks finally rolled up a recoilless rocket launcher and proceeded to level the place, hostages and all.
Fast forward to Erbil, northern Iraqi Kurdistan, 2005. It was one of the only places I could wander around without worrying about getting shot at. Had a long talk with a Kurdish contractor for SF who’d bugged out as a refugee to the US when he was 15. His attitude was “I’m here for the money and that stuff is behind me. They [the Kurds] are on their own.”
Lots of different perspectives but the real point is why is America morally compelled to get involved? IMO, we’re not compelled to get sucked into ethnic wars with nothing to gain. Likewise they’re not entitled to bring their ethnic problems to the US, either. The idea of avoiding entangling alliances was good enough 200-odd years ago and it still applies.

Trump isn’t honoring his promise to end our wars ! That is laughable! If anything Trump wanted our forces to stay there since we had an agreement to offer air support to the Kurds in the region who were supposedly fighting Daesh, ISIS , ISIL, Assads troops and yada yada yada….

WE pulled our special ops forces out and reneged on our agreement to provide air support (the only thing keeping the Kurds alive)!

Another black mark on America!

This “crisis” IS the crisis needed to realign Turkey with its allies Russia, Iran, Syria and China and have it removed from NATO.

I hate to tell you “I told you so” but Turkey will exit NATO , all part of the overall global Gleichschaltung and the setting up of WORLD WAR 3 between NATO and it’s allies and the BRICS economic block.

As my dear old grandma said “If my sons did not want war there would be none.” Alas, we do, and someone has to fight them. We have kept you fighting for the last hundred years, it ends when we say it ends and not before. So keep fighting, remember it is your duty! Generations come and go but our wars have an endless appetite for new recruits. Remember, if your young soldiers die on the battle field it is because they CHOOSE to do so, how is that anyone else’s fault? The fisherman offers the bait but it is the fish who swallows the hook.

The world is an ugly place and, unfortunately, hard and unpleasant choices must be made. I note that when we “abandoned” the South Vietnamese many of those now screaming loudest to defend the Kurds were only too happy to throw our erstwhile allies to the Communist wolves. As for the Kurds, they are a noble people caught in an impossible situation, wedged between Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. All are determined to prevent the formation of a Kurdish state. Limited autonomy is all they can hope for and Iraq and Syria are probably prepared to give it to them. Better half a loaf than none at all. They will make their peace with these powers. They always have, one way or another.

Charles De Gaulle said it best as he wrapped up the Algerian War. His aides pointed out that the “harkies” (Algerians who had fought with the French, would suffer terribly. His cold comment? “They will suffer”. And they did. So will the Afghans who fought with us. The Taliban will settle scores with them sooner or later. Welcome to the “Empire Game”, folks. Although I’m sure traveling the world and being used as an occupying army in the various warzones is something a bunch of egotistical, narcissists who want to shoot people and blow shit up are ’bout it ’bout it about.

Trump didn’t have the guts to tell them “we’re outta here” thats just more campaign nonsense drivel being peddled by your ilk.

TPTB told Trump that an attack by Turkey was imminent and if he disnt want the blood of U.S. servicemen and women on his hands that he’d better move them. So he did. Because we all know that the patriotism runs deep here and 1 American life is worth more than 100 Kurds. Hahaha! Bullshit!

Just imagine if the troops weren’t pulled back and just one serviceman or woman was killed and the media got hold of that and said Trump was told this was going to happen and did nothing!

Just self serving moves , after all its election time!

1)- All this talk about how we “owe” the Kurds support because they helped us defeat ISIS is complete utter bullshit. We “owe” them nothing!! They did not help us because the love us. I mean did they help us in the Revolutionary War? Korea? Vietnam? No. They “helped” us for one reason and one reason only — we have a common enemy. Alliances/treaties exist when they are convenient … and then change or are discarded when they no longer serve a purpose. That’s life. That’s reality. So, while I do like the Kurds (and even feel sorry for their plight), and while I think Turks are generally assholes, well …. there is simply no tactical or strategic value for young American men & women fighting yet another ME sectarian battle. So solly Kurdish peeps … fight your own fight.

2)- Warmongerfuk Lindsey Graham is all concerned that; — “This will throw the region into further chaos.” Oh, puhlease, fuck you you cocksucker. It was jerkoffs like YOU … an, other jerkoff Republicans, jerkoff Democrats, jerkoff Generals, jerkoff Big Companies in the MIC, and many other jerkoff American Swampites who got us in this goddamn mess to begin with!!!

So, how much goddamned longer should we stay in the Mideast fighting your jerkoff wars you jerkoffs jerk-off to every night?

3) Sixteen God-forsaken year in Iraq … and the current spreading revolt in Baghdad might end that regime. What a pathetic loss of American blood and treasure. And now you wanna stay in Syria …. and repeat the same old shit???? Fuck you and burn in hell. You and all the thousands of shitheads screaming about what Trump wants to do are the SAME motherfuckers who plunged us into that mooslimfuk quagmire to begin with. But, it’s not YOUR sons and daughters you send to die, is it? So, shut up you coward assholes … you have lost the right to speak for us “isolationist” Americans.

4) And to you TBPers who mock Trump’s desire to pull out of Syria saying he hasn’t done shit, yet. OMG!!! Have you seen the reaction from Dems, Repubs, 95% of the MSM, the MIC, etc??? Wholesale condemnation!! Once again I need to remind you …. we do not live in a Dictatorship!!! He can’t just snap his fingers or call on Samantha to wiggle her nose, and make the endless wars go away. He is but one man … fighting against thousands of entrenched Swampy leechfuks. Give him a break. Better yet … give him your support. Especially next November.

Stucky,

Go take your meds and shut the fuck up. You can’t be that dense. We used the Kurds just as we used the Taliban, just as we firmed and used Al Qaeda which morphed into ISIS, ISIS DAESH and on and on so we can continue to export death.

You think this wasn’t planned. This IS the crisis that will justify kicking Turkey out of NATO. All scripted for PUBLIC consumption, dumb ass!

Vote for Trump in November . Seriously….Trump is gonna destroy Turkey’s economy, it’s been pretty fucked already in the currency markets for years because of the shit enacted by our Federal reserve at the behest of the CFRers and Bilderbergers.

Fuck Lindsey Graham. Guilty by association sorta like campaign Trump does with suggesting things the liberty movement has been talking about for decades….guilty by association

“…helping Muslims avoid a genocide in Kosovo” Kind of ironic a supposed ‘conservative’ like Schlichter repeating liberal talking points about a 1990’s Clinton war popular with liberals isn’ it? In fact the overwhelming evidence exposed over the last 22 years by conservative commentators in Europe and the United States shows that contrary to what we were told by these establishment leftist liars, it wasn’t the Serbian Christians who started the war but the expansionist Albanian muslims. The Bill and Hillary Clinton crime family were in charge of our military back then, so the idea that these 2 crooked politicians cared about “saving” muslims from Christians is laughable. It was these two Clinton crooks who ordered our military for 79 days to bomb our Serbian Christian allies of both WW1 and WW2 under the bogus pretext of “humanitarian” intervention. Only a RINO liar or an ignorant fool brainwashed by the lying leftist/globalist establishment corporate media and corrupt globalist politicians would believe the laughable BS that Christians were the ‘aggressors’ who ‘started the war’ and the muslims were the supposed ‘victims’ there.

Secret documents from multiple German courts and internal memos from the German foreign ministry dating back to 1998 and early 1999 prove that the Serbian Christians were *not* ‘oppressing’ innocent muslim civilians as the Clintons, Kurt Schlichter and our leftist media falsely claimed, but were actually fighting separatist Albanian muslim terrorists who began a campaign of murdering innocent civilians by throwing bombs into cafes, restaurants, houses and other buildings. They even murdered their fellow Albanians who refused to support them! When the Serbian army went in there to fight against these terrorists and restore order, the Clintons and our lying media accused the Serbs of ‘ethnic cleansing’ and ‘genocide’ against ‘innocent’ muslim Albanians – whom they referred to as ‘Kosovars’ in order to dupe the American people. Of course, Kurt Schlichter being the stooge of muslim expansionism in Europe that he is, won’t tell you these important facts!

The muslims did in Kosovo what they always do whenever they illegally invade a territory inhabited by Christians, they began a gradual process of “islamification”: a decades long campaign of demographic expansionism reproducing like cockroaches, coupled with a campaign of anti-Christian intimidation, harassment, murder, rape gangs, drug trafficking and terrorism – in other words ‘ethnic cleansing’ against the non-muslim population – causing hundreds of thousands of Christians and other non-muslims to leave or face being tortured, raped or killed.

It was communist Croat dictator Tito’s decades long open borders policy with Albania after WW2 which allowed hundreds of thousands of illegal muslim Albanian invaders to start flooding into the territory of Kosovo. Kosovo has been Christian territory for over a Thousand years until the Ottoman Turkish invaders began changing the demographics there. Kosovo is the Christian spiritual heartland of the Serbian people and what the Clintons ordered the UN/NATO forces to do there by creating a gangster mafia run state run by ex terrorists and drug traffickers is a despicable and massive crime. It’s no surprise that the largest contributors of jihadists in Europe who joined ISIS are Albanian and Bosnian muslims. Funny how that works!

When Clinton ordered our military to begin bombing the Christian Serbs for 79 days killing thousands of civilians – not even stopping the bombing to respect the Easter holiday – we were told by Bill and Hillary and the liberal media that this was all being done to stop another Hitler style ‘holocaust’ of muslims. Of course, the evidence on the ground exposed this claim as total BS. The Clintons, after ordering the UN/NATO to forcibly go in there to take over the historically Christian heartland of Kosovo – using primarily US military power – not only did US/UN/NATO investigators find ZERO evidence of anti-muslim ‘genocide’, but the UN/NATO take over resulted in at least 350,000 Christian Serbians and other non-muslims being forcibly expelled – aka “ethnically cleansed” – via a vicious campaign of brutal mass murder, rape, burning down of centuries old Christian churches and houses coupled with systematic mass looting of Christian private property: all under the watchful eye of UN/NATO personnel who turned a blind eye to these muslim crimes.

If you thought it couldn’t possibly get any worse it does! The Albanian muslim mafia now established a base in Kosovo where they were luring underage girls and young women from all over Eastern Europe, drugging them and forcing them to be SEX SLAVES under threat of beatings and death!! In addition to these horrific crimes against Christians and other non-muslims, the ex-terrorist/ex-mafia Albanian muslims were – in collusion with corrupt UN/NATO personnel such as the George Soros ally and former French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner – were kidnapping hundreds of Serbian Christians, murdering them and extracted their internal bodily organs so they could sell them on the organ donor black market! Most of these murdered Christians’ organs ended up being sold to Western European and Middle Eastern hospitals. Of course Kurt Slichter being the lying stooge of muslim expansionism in Europe that he is, won’t tell you this important fact either. This Schlichter guy is a FAKE so called RINO ‘conservative’, a liar and a phony just like the fake RINOs Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio and George W. Bush.
