SEE YOU ON THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (PART 2)

In Part 1 of this article I tried to link the greed and depravity of those pulling the strings behind the curtain of the Deep State with perpetual warfare being waged by the military industrial complex and the purposeful dumbing down of the populace so propaganda spewed by the Deep State’s media mouthpieces finds fertile ground. Pink Floyd’s lyrics from their existential album – Dark Side of the Moon – continue to resonate today, even more than they did in 1973.

Breathe

Image result for pink floyd breathe"

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don’t be afraid to care
Leave, don’t leave me
Look around, choose your own ground

Long you live and high you fly
Smiles you’ll give and tears you’ll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

I knew Part 1 of this article would be easier to write than Part 2 because I’m more comfortable writing about financial issues and expounding upon the political and economic degradation of our empire of debt. Pondering my life and choices I’ve made or haven’t made is something I’d rather not think about. But, as I was driving home from getting blood work done last Saturday morning, the haunting chords of Breathe emanated from my car radio, urging me to tackle the rest of my article. Breathe is a very short instrumental piece of less than 3 minutes.

It is the first song on the album, setting the melancholy tone for the rest of the album. To me, Waters’ lyrics are addressing how we all have a choice on how we live our lives. We take our first breath and if we are lucky have about eighty years on this planet. The song seems to be from the perspective of a father, who has the wisdom gained from a long life, giving advice to their child.

It’s the relationships we form and the way we live our lives that matter. Our existence is full of joy and pain; work and play; thinking or believing; leading or following; living and dying. We need to choose our ground. Are we going to live a life worthy of esteem or will we just go with the flow, believing what we are told, and working ourselves into an early grave?

The corporate fascist Deep State controllers want rabbits to run faster and ditch diggers to keep digging ditches. They want you to be propagandized to buy the shit they are willing to sell you, utilizing plentiful amounts of debt, so you are forever beholden to them as debt serfs paying 17% on your credit card balances. George Carlin summed it up well many years ago:

“We know what they want, more for themselves and less for everyone else… and they don’t want an educated citizenry…. they want obedient workers… people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paper work and just dumb enough to passively accept the increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime, and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it.”

Let’s face it, “THEY” don’t want the masses to think. They don’t want them to make choices which will free them from working from sun up until sundown until they die. The corporate fascists want you to die at your desk or, even better, develop a disease the sickcare complex can milk for hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s all about the dollars. They want it all and we are just the dupes, following their directives, and working ourselves to death trying to keep up with the Joneses. Striving to make the most money, own the biggest house, driving the most expensive automobile, and riding the biggest wave is a recipe for an early grave. What’s the point, as we are all dust in the end.

Run, rabbit, run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
When at last the work is done
Don’t sit down, it’s time to dig another one

Long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
Balanced on the biggest wave
Race towards an early grave

For most of my life I’ve felt disconnected from what is considered important in this society. For the first forty years of my life I strove to climb the corporate ladder, getting the proper degrees and doing whatever it took to get ahead. I believed what I saw on TV and didn’t question the official narratives. There were about five years out of my first twenty years in the working world where I loved what I was doing.

My view of the world changed with 9/11 and the Neo-Con fabricated Iraq War. The Patriot Act and the subsequent expansion of the un-Constitutional illegal surveillance of American citizens changed my understanding of the world. What I thought was important in my life was really inconsequential in comparison to what the government/Wall Street/Federal Reserve/Deep State were doing to the people of our nation.

Like many Americans, with a family to support, I’ve had to dig my holes in increasingly distant destinations. This has been detrimental to my physical and mental health, but sacrificing for our children’s future is the duty of a father. I’ve long since abandoned any ambitions to achieve the success this world declares to be imperative. For over a decade I’ve realized my purpose is to try and influence the direction of our country through writing on my blog, providing a forum for other writers, and trying to live a life which will make my children proud of my efforts.

The decisions we make in the next few years will impact future generations in a profound way. How we touch the lives of others is all our lives will ever be. We are all headed for the grave, so how much money we accumulate, power we wield, or positions we hold are ultimately meaningless. A life lived without positively impacting the lives of others is a life unfulfilled. We can’t let darkness win.

Time

Image result for pink floyd time"

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Time has always been my favorite Pink Floyd song because it connects with me no matter what life stage I’m living. It’s about finding purpose in life. I think most people can relate to wasting time in our home towns when we were young, waiting for a parent or teacher to point us in the right direction.

Some driven individuals know exactly what they want at a young age and pursue their dreams with reckless abandon. I often think they are being driven by overbearing parents trying to compensate for their failures in life by forcing their off-spring succeed. These are the people who end up running corporations, becoming politicians, and holding positions of power, where they can boss others around.

I was still living in my hometown until the age of 25. I had a college degree, passed the CPA exam, and had a job as a divisional controller for a major corporation. I had met my future wife down the shore in Avalon. I still lived at home with my parents. I still spent my weeknights playing basketball with my friends from the neighborhood. I played on Tony’s Bar softball team with the same guys. I knew most of these guys would never leave our hometown. They didn’t care about education and seemed content just kicking around on the same piece of ground. I think most of those guys never left that town.

Some became alcoholics. Some died far too young. And a couple made it out. Twenty years later when I would come back to visit my parents, I drove through the town to show my kids where I grew up and nothing had changed. It was exactly the same as when I had left. It was kind of sad and still gives me a feeling of melancholy. There are millions of people who have wasted their lives, never daring to leave their home towns, never taking a risk, never reaching their potential and living unhappy unfulfilled lives. They missed the starting gun.

No one showed me the way, but I did know I needed to move on with my life. I got a new job, bought a house, got married, went back to school at night for my MBA, moved up the ladder at work, had three kids, and got fired at 40 years old because truthful analysis was not what the vapid low IQ female CEO (diversity hire) wanted from her underlings. More than ten years had got behind me, when I was left dazed and confused.

This was less than three years after 9/11 and the Patriot Act. Bush, Cheney and Powell had lied us into the Iraq War disaster in 2003. My eyes began to open, as my trust in government, financial institutions, the Federal Reserve, and the media dissipated. Time continued to move relentlessly onward. I was no longer young and foolish. I was drawn to the message being put forth by Ron Paul and will be forever grateful to a true patriot for opening my mind to the truth.

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I’d something more to say.

Since 2008 when I started writing and running my blog, I’ve felt like I’ve been running and running to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking. As I approach my sixth decade on this earth, the last two stanzas of Time have more and more meaning to me. I’m still slogging away at a job from when I get up at 5:30 am until I get home at 6:00 pm. It has a respectable title, but as has been true for most of my working life, it’s just a job. I’ve had bills to pay, children to raise, parents to care for, and duties to carry out.

I’ve always had a stoic attitude towards life, doing whatever needed to be done, taking care of my family, and deferring my gratification to some unspecified future time. I live inside my head most of the time, pondering, questioning, needlessly worrying, and trying to figure out my purpose on this earth.

Writing, reading, and encouraging others to find their voice on my blog is what sustains me on a daily basis. I look forward to the day when I can trade in my long daily commute and uninspiring job, to just write and run my blog. That day seems far off with the need for decent health coverage beyond the resources of a self-employed person. The fatalist in me latches onto the concept of being shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter and I have so much left to do. I started the blog as a response to the lies and evil perpetrated by those running the show, whether you call them the ruling class, oligarchs, or Deep State. I don’t want my boys to grow up to be debt serfs in a corporate fascist surveillance state. After ten years of imagining myself as some sort of Paul Revere/Thomas Paine, reality set in.

My youth is long gone. My enthusiasm for promoting the kind of change needed to save this country has waned. Time is running out. I’ve given up predicting the timing of the collapse. The controllers manage to keep the Ponzi scheme going, despite the reality of our situation. My pessimistic nature makes me think my future plans of retiring from the rat race world will come to naught. My decade of scribbled lines has had little impact on the course we are on as a society. Most of the people I now consider my friends, I’ve never met in person. Dark Side of the Moon addresses insanity on a personal level and the loneliness of not fitting in.

Without The Burning Platform, I would probably lose what level of sanity I have left. I don’t feel as alone because I am able to read the thoughts of others just like myself. I’m inspired by the common sense, wisdom, intelligence and fortitude of the men and women who frequent my website. We are all living lives of quiet desperation, seeking truth and preparing for an uncertain future. As this Fourth Turning enters its terminal phase, I believe it will be people like those on my website who offer the hope of a better tomorrow. Before my time is gone and my song over, I think I have more to say. Fighting for my sons will be my driving force until my dying breath, whenever that should be.

Eclipse

All that you touch
And all that you see
All that you taste
All you feel

And all that you love
And all that you hate
All you distrust
All you save

And all that you give
And all that you deal
And all that you buy,
Beg, borrow or steal

And all you create
And all you destroy
And all that you do
And all that you say

And all that you eat
And everyone you meet
And all that you slight
And everyone you fight

And all that is now
And all that is gone
And all that’s to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

There is no dark side of the moon, really.
Matter of fact, it’s all dark.

Eclipse, which follows and intersects with Brain Damage, is only two minutes long, but perfectly captures the symbolism of the album: light and dark; good and evil; life and death. Musically it is a colossal cascading climax with beautiful harmonies and haunting lyrics. The song represents the lives of all humankind. The use of the words “All” and “You” captures the essence of a human life in relation to all mankind.

To summarize a human life with vivid lyrics in two minutes is an extraordinary feat of musical magic. The song features a loud, repetitive melody that builds up, then ends with a very quiet outro. When the main instrumentation ends, the sound of a heartbeat, which began on the first track, gradually fades to silence. The album represents a long life, from birth through death, encompassing the battle between goodness and dark forces which we all confront during our short time on this earth.

Looking back to the period in which this album was constructed, you can understand why darkness was the theme. The early 70’s was a dark time. The Vietnam War lingered on, while violent protests filled our streets. Nixon had closed the gold window and set in motion the raging inflation for the decade. Political turmoil was about to be unleashed with the impeachment of Nixon.

Oil embargoes resulted in surging gas prices and shortages. Labor and management clashed, with strikes across the land. The Cold War was at its coldest. It simply was not a happy time. Roger Waters’ lyrics reflected the darkness of the time. Ironically, it was the most cohesive and creative period for the band. The album’s success made them rich and famous, which ultimately led to their breakup.

Waters describes the album as “a very simple statement saying that all the good things life can offer are there for us to grasp, but that the influence of some dark force in our natures prevents us from seizing them”. The darkness of the moon is a symbolic representation of our dark side and the brightness of the sun is a symbolic representation of all that is good.

We all have both good and evil within our hearts and have the choice to let one or the other dominate our thoughts and actions. Each person on this earth has the option of following an ideology of evil or an ideology of good. When enough people choose to believe in the messages coming from dark forces, the result is tragedy and the loss of millions of lives, as we have seen in the last century under the rule of Stalin and Mao.

As I was again procrastinating on writing the 2nd part of this article because thinking about my mortality is not something I enjoy, I was flipping through the 600 cable channels on my propaganda machine and as a kick in the ass to finalize this article, AXS TV had one of their Classic Album shows on where they delve deeply into the making of the greatest albums of all-time. They were exploring the making of Dark Side by interviewing the band members, Alan Parsons the engineer, record executives, and music critics.

The themes of conflict, greed, war, wasted time, and misplaced priorities were worrisome to Waters and his bandmates. They were trying to reach the listeners with the message we all have doubts, misgivings, failures, and moments of weakness, when the darker forces of our nature eclipse our better intentions. We are just human, with the same weaknesses and faults as those who lived centuries ago.

The video made to accompany Eclipse is haunting, disturbing and clear in its message. We live our lives as individuals within a society of other individuals, living a mostly mundane existence, striving for what we are told is important by those controlling the levers of society. They push materialism and constant conflict upon good decent people who wouldn’t choose such a path without being pushed in that direction through propaganda and social engineering by evil men with evil intentions.

In the video, all that is good is overwhelmed by explosions, scenes of greed, and dictators, while the bright light in the human eye is extinguished, the moon overshadows the sun, and the human heartbeat stops. You are left with an empty feeling of a life wasted.

The voice at the end of the song is that of Gerry O’Driscoll, the doorman at Abbey Road Studios, answering the question: “What is ‘the dark side of the moon’?” with: “There is no dark side in the moon, really. Matter of fact, it’s all dark. The only thing that makes it look light is the sun.” As with all music, it means different things to different people. To me, Eclipse and the video of the moon slowly approaching the sun and ultimately shrouding the light in darkness symbolizes a Fourth Turning. Like an eclipse, Fourth Turnings arrive at predictable times and darken the landscape for a period of time, before yielding to the light once again.

We are currently in the midst of a Fourth Turning and the darkness deepens by the day, with the ongoing coup attempt against a sitting president; a debt crisis being covered up by the Federal Reserve; ongoing wars in the Middle East; a new cold war against Russia and China; an overbearing dangerous surveillance state; climate change hoax used to increase government power; socialists gaining acceptance among the dumbed down masses; gun grabbers trying to overturn the 2nd Amendment; celebration of decadence; rewarding diversity over accomplishment; trillion dollar deficits; and half the country despising the other half.

Darkness is descending across the land as this empire of debt enters its terminal phase. Its heartbeat is weakening and the light of liberty is fading to black

The exploration of individual insanity and societal insanity is as relevant today as it was in 1973 and as relevant as it was when addressed by Aldous Huxley in 1958. If Huxley thought we were a profoundly abnormal society in the 1950s, his head would explode if he were alive today. I always feel like an outcast in this world. I don’t fit in. I don’t value what most people in this profoundly abnormal society value.

The only place where I don’t feel like an outcast is among like minded people who frequent my website. Are we insane in believing our government should be limited, budgets balanced, the Constitution honored, welfare/warfare state restrained, the Fed ended, and the liberties of Americans restored?

If refusing to adjust to what passes for being normal in this abnormal society makes me a pariah, I will gladly inhabit my exile on Main Street. I will not bow to peer pressure, propaganda, or threats. I will keep publishing the truth on my website until THEY shut me down. The real resistance is those who refuse to adapt to this insane culture of debt, delusion, discord, decadence and degradation. I will stay close to home and family, and when I arrive home cold and tired, I’ll warm my bones beside the fire. I hope to see you on the dark side of the moon.

“The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does. They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.” Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Revisited

Well, holy crap… the best piece of writing from the best blogger on the internet hands down. Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favorite albums and I have recently been working on acoustic guitar versions of some of these songs. I probably listened to it everyday back in the day. The blending of this writing with the lyrics is genius and though I am bit older (65 now) I can really relate to much of what you say.

Thanks for a great piece of writing, all of them of course but this one in particular. Keep up all your efforts, we hear you load and clear. I’ll send this years donation as soon as I can, probably not until January.

Happy Holidays!

SUPERB work Sir, as usual. Further to the manufactured reality of TPTB.

Recall the words of Obama’s Chicago henchman, “never let a crisis go to waste”. If you do not have one, create one.
Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine handy for war profiteering. TRILLIONS! No glamour in roads and bridges till they break.
Now it is the end of the world, and we are all absolutely going to die…….from the weather changing. Send money to avoid. I am sending a bit more to you.

Now it is time to get to know the One who lights up the dark side of the moon, the One who created the Sun and gave us His Son, so we could have Eternal Life. Jesus Christ.

Metrics become misleading when one factors ‘over 50%’ with ‘true believers’.

The 2nd coming of Christ is an internal, personal experience, not His reappearance in flesh to saaaaaave Christians. ‘Belief’, as a modifying factor, only acts on doubt. Christ living in one’s heart is a personal experience and it leaves no doubt.

‘Belief’ isn’t requisite for faith; just absence of doubt. One can believe while having doubts about the premise for the belief.

Faith is the result of inner, personal experience; nobody gets it from anyone else’s experience or what anyone says. We know Christ lives in our heart when we start performing His work. That is the ‘true’ metric that measures faith, experiencing His hand in our work.

There is no Satanic realm that exists outside of God’s loving embrace. This world remains balanced between His light and our darkness, each of us blessed with personal will. We each have a choice to either love our enemies and return to our Father, or remain on the dark side of our moon.

For me, loving those I consider my enemies is asking a bit much. It means I must quit fantasizing about choking them until they quit wigging. Not happening. I can’t wait for the lights to go out.

So, Christ isn’t in my heart yet. If I ever open my heart enough to love my enemies and let Him in, my faith will finally be doubtless. I will do His works and, at a minimum, get a coach class ticket on the heavenly train back to our Father.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Got ticket?

Jim et al,

Your essay discusses many themes and issues about our current time in history. I wasn’t even born yet when the Pink Floyd album “Dark side of the moon” was released and yet the lyrics and melodies have had a lasting impact on my life.

I still remember the cover of my high school yearbook covered in a brick wall
Telling the teachers to leave us alone.

It is a sign of a true work of art when your work transcends time and resonates with newer generations. It’s also a bit unnerving, depressing, yet somewhat comforting, when one realizes that the issues discussed in the album are still afflicting our society. Comforting in the sense that it helps me recognize our human condition and helps me answer existential questions as to the meaning of life and why I am here.

Thank you again…

This 13 minute video (if shared before but still enjoy watching) illustrates many themes that Waters, Pink Floyd and you mention in this superb follow up to part I.

Why Trump’s New Executive Order Matters
Eric StrikerDec 11, 2019 | 1200 words 3,326
MORE:CURRENT EVENTS

The Trump administration and Betsy DeVos, an heiress who was given the Department of Education because of her large donations to the GOP, have been fighting Israel’s wars on campus for months now.

Last September, the federal government began investigating the lessons taught by various professors at prestigious schools like Duke and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. They wanted to ensure that none of the university’s public grands were going towards hosting lectures that give the Palestinian side of the story.

At UNC, the academic conference in question, “Conflict Over Gaza: People, Politics Possibilities,” was met with rage by local Jews. Two weeks after kicking up a storm, mysterious “anti-Semitic” flyers were found, with the “culprits” of course never identified. UNC not only apologized to the Jewish students for allowing the conference, they have completely caved under government pressure and now have integrated a strict new Anti-Defamation League invented criteria for what constitutes “anti-Semitism” in respects to discourse about Israel.

The pressure on these campus’ is being applied by DeVos’ “civil rights” chief, Kenneth L. Marcus, a Zionist Jew who has authored books and academic journal entries like The Definition of Anti-Semitism and “Contemporary Anti-Semitism in American Higher Education.” It’s obvious who the brains behind this overreach are.

Micromanagement on this level is almost unprecedented, and protests in favor of academic freedom have gone largely ignored by both the media and politicians. Some Palestinian advocacy groups are rightly criticizing conservatives who claim to be for intellectual freedom as hypocrites, since most of them are supporting this brazen move by “big government” to stifle free speech.

Trump’s top donor, Sheldon Adelson, has made combating criticism and boycotts of Israel on college campuses one of his top priorities. He founded the Maccabee Task Force, named after rebels who ruthlessly slaughtered Hellenists that tried to introduce Western culture to the Jewish subjects of Antiochus IV. The task force is dedicated to paying people to agitate and advocate in favor of Israel on the quad. Clearly, this move is Trump’s favor to top financial backers like Adelson, Paul Singer, and Bernie Marcus.

Jews Are Now A Race

Trump’s executive order is reported to do two things: first, reclassify criticism of Israel and Zionism as anti-Semitism, and two, categorize Jews as a non-white race. This will effectively turn expressing negative sentiments towards Israel on college campuses into a hate crime.

Contrary to Paul Krugman’s claim that American Jews are true-believing and selfless “liberals,” 95% of Jews support Israel – one of the only countries in the world with codified apartheid and anti-miscegenation laws. Jewish theatrics about anti-racism, humanism and their well-documented role as sprearheads for anti-social liberal maximalism is clearly distinct and conditional compared to bourgeois white liberal self-loathing.

Some Jews however are expressing a degree of discomfort with Trump’s new edict, as the high profile of this controversial law will make it difficult for Jews to blend in as “fellow whites.”

Federal courts have already clarified that Jews are indeed a separate and distinct non-white race protected by the 1964 Civil Rights Act. In 2018, a private Baptist school was defeated in a lawsuit by a Jewish employee, who claimed the Christian administrator’s decision to not hire a practitioner of Judaism amounted to illegal racism. US magistrate Mark Hornsby found that private Christian schools must hire “qualified” Jewish applicants and not doing so was the equivalent of refusing to hire blacks. It goes without saying that a non-Jew making the same claim when a Yeshiva school doesn’t hire him for cultural and religious incompatibility would be laughed out of court.

Both “liberal” and “conservative” Jews are happy, if a little nervous, with this new law. Many Democrats like Ted Deutsch and Jerrold Nadler have tried to pass similar laws in the past.

While Jews will be granted special privileges, white students will continue to be up the creek without a paddle. Courses like “Angry White Male Studies” and “Problematizing Whiteness” will continue to personally racially abuse white students in an institutional fashion, Jews are very comfortable with that.

The most powerful and wealthy ethnic group in the world being legally treated as a delicate and helpless minority is exactly what it looks like: an act of plutocratic tyranny meant to protect Jewish privilege and foreign policy interests from scrutiny.

France’s Emmanuel Macron recently was able to narrowly pass a similar law. In his country, expressing “anti-Semitic” political views is already prosecuted as a crime, so now “anti-Zionism” will be treated in the same fashion.

The public at large is not asking for this legislation, and while Trump’s executive order can technically be reversed there is no context in which a future Democrat or Republican president ever will. The timing here between two beleaguered leaders, Macron facing riots and Trump facing an intelligence coup, doing Jewish kingmakers favors is a reliable insurance policy. They see the erosion of goyim rights to talk back to Jews on any topic as a way to get the press and rival political entities called back.

But more thoughtful Zionists are right to be ambivalent about this broader visibility as a force of oppression. Every student of the Jews either grows to despise them or expects them to pay him. Can they afford to pay off hundreds of millions of Americans?

ZIONISM versus BOLSHEVISM
A Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People
By the Rt. Hon. Winston S. Churchill

Some people like Jews and some do not; but no thoughtful man can doubt the fact that they are beyond all question the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has ever appeared in the world.

Disraeli, the Jew Prime Minister of England, and Leader of the Conservative Party, who was always true to his race and proud of his origin, said on a well known occasion:

“The Lord deals with the nations as the nations deal with the Jews.” Certainly when we look at the miserable state of Russia, where of all countries in the world the Jews were the most cruelly treated, and contrast it with the fortunes of our own country, which seems to have been so providentially preserved amid the awful perils of these times, we must admit that nothing that has since happened in the history of the world has falsified the truth of Disraeli’s confident assertion.

Jim, THANK YOU for what you do!!! You are not alone at all. As I read this, I found myself constantly nodding my head in agreement with you on so many levels. I too feel closer to many people I may have never met, but share the same values we do and the understanding of the true evil and propaganda that has infested our society. The Burning Platform helped my further my awakening when I lost a $hitload when everything crashed in 2008, as I sought our explanations how this could have happened. I say it all the time….WE ARE THE RESISTANCE, not the sheep who listen to what they are told by TPTB and as i’m in the 5th decade of my life, I often ponder those same thoughts you do and feel my sole purpose is all for my kids as well. Again, thank you for all you do and being a light in all the darkness that most of the crap out there is!!!

Hell, Jim. I hardly ever post, but I do read.

Your work on this blog has great value—to this 50 or so lawyer.

As the Fourth Turning heads our way, I wanted to say thank you. Your efforts have opened my eyes quite a bit.

I focus more and more on contentment these days. Your post here reminds me that living a little smaller is a good thing.

Wow, this hit home for me. It is like you are writing my bio. 🙁

I don’t wish pain & suffering on anyone, but really at this point it seems to be the ONLY thing that can turn this ship around… which is a total and utter collapse of the system.

Thanks for writing that

I expect that I am the same age as you, give or take a year or two, and the ideas and sentiments expressed are very similar to my own.

I never left my society but I became a stranger in a strange land.

All we have and all we are is our relationships and our contributions to our communities/society.

Unfortunately, the wealthy churn out endless numbers of psychopathic spawn intent upon enslaving us all.

The Money Power must be confronted and throttled because men of low character will always sell out their own for 30 pieces of silver.

However, in order for the Money Power to be confronted, people need to re-discover the concepts of sin and of evil.

Recently seeing a large shooting star streak across the sky, I closed my eyes and thought a short prayer. Shortly thereafter I was considering my lot when it occurred to me to open my oft neglected bible. Alone in a remote area and off grid, it was the Sabbath and seemed like the thing to do. Randomly parting the pages my eyes immediately settled on Ecclesiastes 2:17
“Therefore I hated life ; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit”
Intrigued, I read the whole chapter and was surprised to discover that therein lay the meaning and purpose of life: to develop a relationship with the creator through his spirit which he freely offers to all who ask.

Thank you Jim for this article which seems be be cathartic to people who read it and identify with your sentiment. It certainly hit home for me. Like other’s have said, I feel like you wrote my story too.

We all go about it differently in life, which is the essence of free will. But, none of us will escape the fourth turning.

This turning has been going on for quite some time now. It’s just getting hot enough to feel the fire for most people today.

I will send you a money order soon. I am a long time lurker and greatly appreciate reading this site as it is the loci of mostly critically thinking, honorable, and thoughtful people, with a few devil’s advocate trolls thrown in for fun.

You have done a great service to all critically thinking people who still care about our individual communities (and perhaps the Country, but that “Country” thing seems to be fading) by keeping a forum such as TheBurningPlatform alive.

As, LLpoh intimates, you have attained the ultimate victory so far by simply being a good man, improving yourself while being devoted to your family.

Kudos to a life well lived so far.

It’s a struggle worth winning.

I’m at the point in Orwell’s writing where he has been wounded in Spain- shot in the throat with no guarantee that he will ever speak again- and all of his letters, many of them to people who are his political opponents at the time, discuss the complete lack of truth in the press from every ideological angle. He’s still a philosophical socialist, but I can see him slowly making his turn away from collectivism and moving steadily toward the North star of Truth.

Late to the party. Checks and balances. Stunning prose, truly, woven together with timeless lyrics.

Mr. Quinn writes… “We all have both good and evil within our hearts…”

No, we don’t. And one will not find, nor have the ability to accept Biblical reality until this satanic deception is vanquished from the minds of men. If there were any good whatsoever left in the human heart post Genesis 3, the world would not be spiraling out of control since the beginning. Entropy entered creation at Gods curse. I am thankful for the same as all evil will eventually be terminated, and creation renewed. It is this very belief that fuels the disaster we all see unfolding around us… that we are even slightly good. We are not. Recognizing this is the critical step we all need to take toward eternal salvation. It’s the step that removes religion (our “righteous” actions) from the eternal equation.

What self-righteousness evolves into is that “our goodness” justifies any action “we” wish justified. “Goodness” therefore becomes relative. The muslim “believes” that his killing of the infidel is justified and pleasing to God. The catholic “believes” that his killing of the infidel is justified and pleasing to God. The jew “believes” that his killing of the infidel is justified and pleasing to God. Can we see the problem developing here? Goodness is not relative; it is Absolute. Nothing any imperfect unrighteous human can do is pleasing to a Perfectly Righteous Creator. The law was given to demonstrate as much! The perfectly righteous law was given to prove to man he could not keep it and is therefore unrighteous.

Jer 17:9… “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

How many people exist in this day and age believing law keeping is essential to their salvation? Billions. They deceive themselves because in their hearts deceptive and wicked ways, it refuses to allow truth to enter in.

Gods view of mankind… you and me. Truth hurts at first. Badly…

Rom 3:10-18… “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

What He did about our condition anyway, is beyond magnificent.

Rom 3:21-26… “BUT NOW the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare HIS righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time HIS righteousness: that he might be just, AND the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”

He offers us freely His own righteousness imputed to our own personal “accounts” as we have no righteousness in and of ourselves. It is all about HIM and NOT US. No religion on earth or in hell can grant righteousness in this dispensation of the freely offered grace of God. Salvation (righteousness) is Gods to give, not ours to earn.

Gal 2:20… “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Rom 11:32-33… “For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”

Search the scriptures. Find out His ways using the means He left us… His inspired and preserved word. Learn that which He revealed unto our Apostle, Paul. The mystery, the new creature. It is our message of HOPE through any physical world-turnings that would come our way.

Grace and peace…

GCP is a non-practicing pastor so he doesn’t have to fleece any congregations. I do think he took that one line a little too personally.

And not ONE remark about the multiple ellipses. Third time is charm!

grace country pastor

I practice everyday, at least try to. Doesn’t cost a thing, this no need nor desire to fleece. I’ll leave that to the professional religionists.

Huge difference between tithing and grace giving. The law commanded a tithe. Since we are no longer under the law, there is no mandated tithe. A church which compels tithing is a church that puts its members under a curse that Christ died to break.

Galatians 3:10-14 KJB… “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Grace giving is what Paul encouraged, as God loveth a cheerful giver. This is the principle by which TBP functions.

Great piece Admin. The best I’ve seen this year. Anywhere.

It’s a lonely feeling when you feel like you’re walking through this life alone. How is it possible that I can see the Huge flashing neon sign reading, “4th Turning Ahead, America’s destruction imminent” and yet everyone around me is oblivious? Other than in my immediate family I do not fit into this world either. If it wasn’t for your work on TBP I would feel completely alone in this world. I sincerely thank you for that.

This fourth turning reminds me of Stephen King’s book “The Stand”. A strange sickness comes over the World and everyone is drawn to their leader. Trump derangement syndrome is the sickness and it has divided the world. Everyone is choosing sides for the final showdown.

Very soon there will be very little left of the world as we know it now. I am persuaded that the road ahead for this country is filled with terror, sorrow and regret. I am pretty sure when I’m in the thick of it I won’t be lamenting the money I didn’t make, the parties I wasn’t invited to, or the vacations I couldn’t afford. If I regret anything it will be the people I could have helped and didn’t, the kind word I could have said and didn’t, the time I could have shared with the people that matter and didn’t, or the difference for good in someone’s life I could have made and didn’t.

Sir, you have made a difference for good in my life. I will be eternally grateful to you for that.

I love the treatise that Jim posted on the site and his relation to the tunes on the Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album. However, he passed over, what I consider the fundamental piece of the basic foundation of the concept. While it was poorly placed in the order of the release, it is a testament to Richard Wright and his musical prowess. The “Great Gig In The Sky” is the powerhouse theme of the entire composition. While Richard Wright did compose and write the tome, “Us and Them” his greatest contribution on the entire concept album is the aforementioned piece. It contains no words. It depicts the anguish of dying and then arriving in heaven. The music is almost evangelical in concept. My largest regret is. that I as a musician, never had the opportunity to meet this bastion of composers that lived during my lifetime.

So long Richard, I hardly knew you, but I loved your talent. You will be missed.

A great big F’You to Roger Waters. He was an overbearing ASSH0LE and still is.

One thing I do want to point out is that Waters had limited input on the Dark Side of the Moon. The entire group, Mason, Wright and Gilmour contributed heavily to the compositions on that album. However, the Wall was all Waters. Saying that though tis why Waters was fired. I have to say Waters firing Richard Wright was his ultimate downfall! Go figure!

Well, here I am again, unfashionably late. Those pesky hours just fly by way too quickly.

This is the TBP ‘quinn’tisential article and thread. There’s just not enough time in the day to comment at every side-track and interesting take offered. I mean, any article that gets TMWNN to comment is evidence of the extraordinary.

Stucky – I’m glad to see you commenting and my prayers continue for you and yours.

M G, EC – you are the lightness and breath of this place. I almost feel like an interloper cutting into your back-and-forth at times.

HSF, Uncola – as always illuminating, thought-provoking and just plain good reading. Always a delight in so many different ways.

Time precludes mentioning every thread that drew my attention. Thank you to all and suffice it to say that it is always time well spent.

I began quite a lengthy comment, but I decided to pull it. Like you and this Part Two, I’m having trouble actually getting the 3rd article of Saying Good-bye done. I know the gist of what I want to say, but how to say it is a completely different matter. What I was going to write here will be in that article.

I’m 63, born in ’56. My eyes were opened by the time I hit 10 or 11. So much so, that I had a real problem handling it emotionally, and the attendant reactions from practically everyone else drove me into a silent sullen presence, especially in the classroom, during my high school years. I’ll explain within Part 3 whenever I get it done.
I’ve been beating the drum that is so resonant here at TBP for going on 50 yrs, now. That’s why I so seldom get too deep into some of these debates; seen it all before, in one fashion or another. Paid some heavy dues at one time or another.

I applaud what you do here. Thank you. As Llpoh so clearly described in his comment about his work-place philosophy ( I cannot understand how anybody could misinterpret what you wrote, it seems pretty clear to me. And true.), it’s obvious you aren’t doing this for thanks, but appreciation that comes from the heart is always to be treasured. I see a consistent affirmation in these comments about just how well thought of you, and your efforts, are. I know being able to share with like-minded (generally speaking) people gives a sense of support and stability in an increasingly ‘Bizarro World’ existence.

Pro 12:27 -” … diligence is a man’s precious possession” must be balanced with Ecclesiastes 2:24 and 3:12, which both say the same – eat, drink and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
GCP, well said with your comments and scriptural appropriateness.

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” – Seneca
For me, I saw where the world was heading a long long time ago. Coupled with that, I could see so many people retiring into a nothing vapid existence, thinking that somehow this was what they should want. Too many I knew died too early, too many wasted away once their impetus of a job was removed. They had no clear plan, only some ephemeral concept of ‘Retirement’. So, many years ago, I started thinking about what I should be doing now to prepare for that eventuality (if I lived long enough). Looking back, perhaps I should’ve been a little more focused on financial wealth, but it always took a back seat to what I considered most important. I passed on several opportunities (some were really big, millions big) because of the life-style I would’ve had to endure. Such as that may be I have more than I need, short as my time seems to always be I’m doing it by choice and I live in a place that is consistently serene, calm and quiet. And that is something that can never be replaced. Even when I couldn’t put a name to it, it was the aggregate lifestyle, not the details, that I pursued for all those years.

You are doing a great service with TBP. But most importantly, this is what you need to do in order to thrive. There is a heavy burden, when you can see clearly where so many others are blind. You can’t save everybody; even Jesus acknowledges that most will go to Hell. Free Will; ain’t it a bitch. Even if TBP, at the final conclusion, ends as a simple chronicle of our inevitable end it will have been greatly worth it.

Hence my advice to you, Jim. Diligence is good, obsession is not. Remember to enjoy what is by definition fleeting. If you are losing your joy, pause and try to figure out where the correction is needed. Take satisfaction in a job well done, and do your utmost, but put it into the proper perspective and realize that we all end up the same. Prepare to be ‘ended’ today but plan for 10 or 20 years down the road, because none of us knows anything past the few seconds in front of us. And maybe that advice is trite, and something you’re already aware of and doing, but it is heart-felt.

Again, a big Thank You for what you do.

Perhaps the most notable responses “I am not frightened of dying. Any time will do: I don’t mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There’s no reason for it – you’ve got to go sometime” and closing words “there is no dark side in the moon, really.
