“I Don’t See Her In Beijing Or Delhi” – Niall Ferguson Slams Davos’ “Virtue Signaling” Greta Fanboys

Via Zerohedge

Climate activist Greta Thunberg addressed the world’s elite face-to-face at the World Economic Forum in Davos yesterday, admonishing the grown-ups in the room for their lack of panic:

“We don’t want these things done in 2050, 2030, or even 2021,” Thunberg said. “We want this done now.”

The 17-year-old demanded participants “from all the companies, banks, institutions, and governments” in attendance to immediately halt all investments in fossil fuel exploration and extraction, end fossil fuel subsidies, and divest from all fossil fuels.

“I’ve been warned that telling people to panic about the climate crisis is a very dangerous thing to do, but don’t worry—it’s fine—I’ve done this before and I can assure you: it doesn’t lead to anything.”

“Our house is still on fire. Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour. We are still telling you to panic, and to act as if you loved your children above all else.”

Quite a speech, and the billionaire crowd at Davos soaked it all up, proudly patting themselves on the back and supporting Greta and her ‘movement’.

However, as Niall Ferguson, Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, explained during a brief (and uncomfortable) interview on CNBC, it’s all bullshit.

“…remember there’s a cognitive dissonance at the heart of Davos.”

“Publicly, you have to agree with Greta Thunberg and you have to be part of the virtue-signaling community on climate change, on ESG.”

“Privately, you’re quietly agreeing with Trump.”

For the ultra wealthy, Ferguson said Trump remains the obvious favorite if faced with a choice between Trump and Democratic front-runners Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

“The dirty little secret of Davos 2020 is they all need him to get re-elected,”  told Yahoo Finance’s Alexis Christophorus, when asked if wealthy attendees are begrudgingly rooting for President Donald Trump. “Nobody wants to say that out loud.”

But the real point of note from Ferguson was his honest angst at Greta’s platform of lies.

“The reality is that the Green Deal [and its massive debt load] will amount to a drag on German manufacturing and the eurozone economy as a whole.”

“Privately, a lot of people are admitting that Trump is doing the stuff we should be doing – fiscal stimulus.”

Simply put, Ferguson dares to say that all the virtue-signaling is not in any way candid, because if it were, they would admit that

60% of CO2 emissions since Greta Thunberg was born is attributable to China… but nobody talks about that. They talk as if its somehow Europeans and Americans who are going to fix this problem… which is frustrating because it doesn’t get to the heart of the matter.”

Ferguson comfortably admits that there is a climate change problem, but that’s not the point. The point is what are we going to do about it, to which he asks rhetorically…

“If you’re serious about slowing CO2 emissions and temperatures rising it has to be China and India that are constrained.”

But Greta goes to New York or Davos:

“I don’t see her in Beijing or Delhi.”

Hard to argue with “facts” and “science” that this is true…

I thought that all elements were in equilibrium. Where did all this new carbon come from? Who made it, if it is “new” carbon? If we can make new carbon then why not “new” Gold? Has there been a measurable drop in Oxygen to combine with all this new carbon?

Personally I feel the new one world order needs to find a new angle to tax all of us on!

As far as Greta goes, she needs to finish her education and get a job so all the free loaders on earth can have a better life.

New carbon in the form of co2 comes from any source that emits carbon dioxide. Like trees.

Live trees ABSORB CO2. Dead trees produce CO2 as they decay. Chip

NO, plants create their own fuel through photosynthesis which consumes CO2, but their metabolism then consumes that fuel and the output is CO2.

Sad that the downvoters don’t understand metabolism. From just one science site (I know I could find thousands that would agree):

“When plants burn their sugars for food, CO2 is produced as a waste product, just like the CO2 that we exhale is a waste product from the food we burn for energy. This happens day and night, but since photosynthesis is powered by sunlight, plants absorb much more CO2 than they give off during the daytime.

At night, when photosynthesis is not happening, they give off much more CO2 than they absorb. While they’re alive, overall, about half of the CO2 that plants absorb is given off as waste.”

Yes, when they die, ALL the CO2 (well, carbon in other forms) that they have incorporated into their tissues is released, but it is not an “all or nothing” scenario. Some CO2 is produced while producing more plant material, living at night, etc.

you might want to revise that statement about the ocean, it mostly absorbs C02:

Trees produce oxygen, and consume C02.
Jeez apple, you must have slept through grade school, but still got a trophy for showing up.

It shows, and it is sad, and you are dumb and I am sorry for that.

We won’t have any of that crap around here.

And consume oxygen and produce CO2 during their metabolic phase of growth, etc. NET is more CO2 in than out, but it is NOT all or nothing. Not only awake through grade school, but have a degree in biology.

Technically what trees are emitting is not “new” carbon. Technically there is no new carbon except what is brought to earth in meteorites, etc. but that is a tangent. The same CO2 that trees convent to energy stores is then released back into the atmosphere when they respire, build new plant material, etc. (use up the energy). In the environment or in any living being, there is one or more versions of a carbon cycle going on. Complex organisms, while alive, become stores of some of that carbon in the form of tissue, etc. Plants with chlorophyl, are the only things that can pull CO2 out of the atmosphere and incorporate it into their tissues as a store of energy.

The science isn’t on their side. So they appeal to the senses sending this benighted child out to scold and shame us into submission. It’s just bullshit intimidation no sensible person would take to heart. I say get back to Sweden and dodging muzzies you ADHD addled young snot. I hate those pricks assembled in Davos a ton more than C02.

Trump signs on for 1 trillion trees. A rational, practical solution to potential excess CO2. Plus who doesn’t love the forest?
Lets see how the Globalist react, my bet, venomous fangs from all angles, Carbon Tax is the Only Solution.
Notice Lagarde and other uber-banksters emitting carbon whispers of late.
I would love nothing more than to see Greta vs. Trump, no holds barred, talk about a mass triggering event.
It would beat smokin Solimani.

Neither Trump nor Greta understand science. Why would you want to listen to the two of them debate global warming? Neither of them can write the balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis. Can you? Anyone who can’t, and doesn’t understand what it means, should not be allowed into a debate about man made carbon emissions and their affect on the planet… Chip

1,000,000 hemp plants every year would be even better. Great way to cut back on cutting down trees for paper and wasting all that water and pesticides for cotton.

Greta has a learning disability that falls in the category of autism . Though she is intelligent she is easily manipulated by her parents and is being used and emotionally abused . Her learning issues tend to make her focus intensely and she needs calming gentle distractions not spoon feed nonsense continuously .
The excessive attention only reinforces her mania and emotional instability !
To the Davos and time magazine you are not helping this young woman with your attention !

Ok, i want all of you to google a map of worldwide co2 concentrations. Co2 is not distributed evenly in the atmosphere. The highest concentrations are over the rainforests because trees “exhale” co2 all night long. Trees are the biggest co2 emitter on earth. See for yourselves. Show your liberal friends.

CO2 is a good thing for this planet. Plants love it and we love oxygen. These fuckbugs that state otherwise are just bolshevik control freaks that want to own everything you do. I pray for ending the ecological destruction of many aspects of our planet, but fucking CO2 ain’t one of them. How about addressing Monsanto poisoning our soils, how about talking about atmospheric aluminum + geo-engineering, how about nickel strip mining to make electric car batteries, how about muslim indonesian hoardes filling the pacific with plastics, ad nasueum. And they want to blame a helpful and harmless gas?? And sheeple believe that shit???? That is the most scary aspect, that people fall for this utter bullshit. It is just beyond words to me. WTF???

And how much of that pollution in the middle east is coming from the US military?

According to DOD’s own statistics, the DOD uses (as of 2006) – 4,600,000,000 US gallons of fuel annually, an average of 12,600,000 US gallons of fuel per day. As of 2006, the DOD, if it were its own country (and pretty much it behaves that way…doesn’t it?) would be 34th in the world in fossil fuel consumption. And that does not include 30,000 gigawatt hours (GWH) of electricity (created by burning additional fossil fuel of course.

Don’t see anyone pointing the finger at our immoral overseas adventurism either.

look at the mess in Germany, they freaked out after Fukishima, closed all their nuke power plants, went full tilt wind/solar, had their power bills increase by 30-40%, and now they are bringing coal fired plants online, cause the green shit can’t produce base load power, and are now emitting more pollution and carbon than before this “bright idea”.

and the fucking davos crowd will continue to fly around in private jets, burning fossil fuel, we can see the agenda here, they just want what is left for themselves.
