‘If I Listened To Him, We’d Be On World War Six’ – Trump Slams “Nasty & Untrue” Bolton Book

Via ZeroHedge

The coordinated leak of the Bolton manuscript has revived Democrats’ hopes for calling the former National Security Advisor to testify at Trump’s trial in the Senate, Mitch McConnell reluctantly admitted last night.

And as Republican frustration with the mustachioed neocon reaches a boiling point, President Trump – who famously fired Bolton via Twitter – has taken to his favorite social media platform to bash his former NSA.

Trump begins by slamming Bolton’s disloyalty, claiming that Bolton begged him for a “non-Senate approved” job and that Trump caved and gave it to him despite “many saying ‘don’t do it, sir’.”

Trump also mocked Bolton’s tendency toward gaffes during TV appearances, like the time he claimed the US was looking at “the Libya model” to handle North Korea. He was immediately roasted by national security experts who noted that Gadhafi’s decision to surrender his nuclear ambitions eventually led to his overthrow and brutal murder.

Moving on, the president said that if he followed Bolton’s advice, the US would be in “World War Six” by now – a reference to Bolton’s famously interventionist views, particularly regarding Iran. It’s believed that, if Bolton had his druthers, the US would have authorized a full-blown invasion.

It turns out Donald Trump isn’t the only Republican president who regrets trusting Bolton. Former President George W. Bush said he regretted his decision to recess-appoint Bolton as his top envoy to the United Nation over the objections of the Senate after it became clear he wouldn’t be confirmed.

“Let me just say from the outset that I don’t consider Bolton credible,” Bush reportedly told an assembled group of political writers, according to the Federalist.

Yet Democrats are giving a former “warmonger” the Comey treatment.

Trump has hired a long list of war monger losers that do damage and then he fires them. The damage, however, doesn’t disappear along with jerks like Bolton.

Trump is a disaster when one looks at his hiring decisions. He’s pissing off even European allies with his ‘my way or the highway’ bullshit concerning sanctions, Huawei, trading for Russian energy and even meddling in their internal affairs.

The man is a total screw up that hasn’t made good on his campaign promises (lock her up, end the wars, etc) and has even become more internationally aggressive. How this ends well for the US citizenry is difficult for me to understand.

It’s just as I have said before; The quickest way to turn a “neo-con” or a “chicken-hawk” into a dove is to shoot at them. Bush, Bolton and Cheney are among the first who come to mind. I wished everyone who would advocate our nation going to war, would be put at the front of the line with a parachute and a gun. If they are not willing to put themselves in harms way, they have no right to ask others to do the same. Spent a lot of days and nights in hostile territory and have nothing good to say about the experience. I will never be in favor of a battle, but I do feel sorry for those who would come here looking for one.

“If they are not willing to put themselves in harms way, they have no right to ask others to do the same.”

well in point of fact almost no leader, even a general, is physically fit enough to be on any front line, so requiring this of political leaders is tantamount to no war ever. what would you say about those leaders who have been in harm’s way calling for war?

Not only will these people never put themselves in harms way. They are even more insidious than that. Having done a substantial amount of time in the military,I finally figured their game out. They send you off to war,and build you up as a hero. That is to get the country behind their lies. Then when you return. They label you a domestic terrorist, and push various mental illnesses on you. All so they can strip you of your 2nd amendment rights. Cowards all of them!!!!!

On the very rare occasion that a war veteran should start calling to wage another conflict, I would think they had found some very good reasons for doing so. Like I said, having been there and done that, I feel any negotiation is better than to start shooting. As to the physical conditions of generals and politicians; this is yet another point in my favor in this discussion. The bigger the pot belly, the better the target it would make.

Better yet … put their kids and grandkids on the front lines!! If the stakes are that high and a war must be fought, any honorable man (or woman or whatever the fuck else we have for genders these days) would do so …

Been saying this for years!

One thing you have to say about WW II is the progeny of the elite went to the war theater. This suddenly stopped during Vietnam with college deferments, cushy assignments in the reserves, bone spurs, etc.

I have the utmost respect for our folks in the military, but if I was young (and knowing what I know about these pieces of shit in charge), absolutely NO FUCKING WAY I would put my life in their hands!!

How can people agree with Trump on this and not think: Who was the asshole who hired him in the 1st place?

I mean, fuck, really? You didn’t know ANYTHING about this guy’s background or modus operandi before hiring him??? Gimme a break.

Trump must think his supporters are the dumbest assholes to ever walk the planet. There’s really no other rational explanation that I can figure.

A trait that the Democratz share with The Man From Queens, and as it happens, most politicians, dictators, and leaders from time in memoriam for that matter.

Not called “The Lumpenproletariat” for nuthin’ ya know.

Ya kind of gotta got to hand it to Trump. The WW VI comment is sort of brilliant on several levels – the least of which is now putting the Dems in the position of defending a warmongering Neocon they used to hate. A civil-war era appearing Caucasian who the president fired, no less.

All of it is perfect made for TV theater. Personally, I am riveted. Can’t wait to watch the Q & A today and the cable TV spin cycles tonight.

This shit’s gotta be real. Because it’s happening
