What Bloomberg knows about farming would fill a 3×5 note card.

And yet he eats every day.

I think a 1″x 1″ sticky note would be more than enough and there would be a lot of yellow showing.

I know some farmers who were early adopters of PC’s, GPS, laser land leveling, remote moisture sensing and many other advanced technology.

I am going with one of those 1/2″ “sign here” document flags…..

Bloomberg has been in the bubble so long he thinks farmers are still serfs bound to the land doing manual planting…..wow. Maybe somebody should check to see that mini-Mike is actually human…he seem to have missed the last 100 years of mechanized farming.

You are way too kind, sir.

This was an excellent juxtaposition with your Grandfather post.
It is so poorly conceived for middle America that I have to believe it is scripted to promote Trump.
Enjoy the show!

What an ignorant ass. I wonder how long the IT people could work without food.

I do both farming and IT. True farming involves more engineering than software does in middle TN. Bloomberg is so stupid it’s pathetic.

How will this play in the heartland. HSF was much more contained than I thought he would be.

This will help him in those swing states the Dems lost last time for being so out of touch.

It shows he has a deep understanding of the challenges of agriculture. I kept forgetting to dig the hole first before I planted the seeds and until I read his trenchant analysis I simply couldn’t get the sequence right.

Thanks Mr. Mayor!

A graduate of A & M writes his professor describing how his first two years at chicken ranching have been a total disaster. Tells him the first year he ordered 10,00 chicks, planted them feet down and they all died. The second year he ordered another 10,000 chicks, planted them head down and likewise they all died. What’s up?
The professor writes him back and recommends a soil sample. He may be using the wrong fertilize.

Pardon me, yet he couldn’t give a flying fuck about anything but his inner sanctum of tribal family, let alone the two coasts. When the SHTF, this scumbag will have his private hideaway sorted and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Try getting him back to face the music. Near impossible when the people who could possibly do it struggle to keep themselves and their kin alive.

Unless you grow your own food, you rely on a farmer 3x a day, everyday of your life. What other occupations can you say that for?

At least 5 or 6 times a day. You missed snacks and after dinner drinks.

He should read him some T. Jefferson and his vision of an agricultural USA USA USA. What a Fuck Stick.

'Reality' Doug
'Reality' Doug

Wow, an intelligent fact. But Jefferson’s vision didn’t pan out. Can’t stop progress or evolution. I think it was perhaps a bit parochial. If taken to mean small business as big business rather than these bohemeths, then sure, great. But how? I’ve never seen the 2nd Amendment in action. There are only a few heroes that have made the news as villains. They changed nothing. Nothing else matters.

The concept of an information economy is a lie. There is no such thing as a virtual economy. We have physical existence and needs. However, his statement about gray matter is essentially correct. That does not make farmers necessarily dumb. Farmers need strong backs, still I think. That’s an attractive attribute I wish I had one. You people who take offense, seriously. We already know he is happy to kill us, we’re virtual to him unless he needs us to make his IT go. No sugary drinks, stop and frisk. He couldn’t give a fig about you or me. But, being a farmer does not make you a fucking genius. The necessity of food does not make you smart. The less agriculturally bound a society is the better. If the other NWO hype about Middle East and East African locust swarms can be believed, food prices could skyrocket. I don’t think the coronovirus will compensate. You guys, like the GamerGate guys. “Don’t talk about my video games farmer’s wiles like that, they’re sacred!”

Articles of Confederation

Bloomberg doesn’t know the first thing about IT. He’s not smart enough. He’s a finance guy…no one ever accused them of having the brains to build anything without buying politicians and counting pennies. They’re one step above lawyers. On a good day.

Farming, not agriculture, requires knowledge of engineering disciplines beyond one particular division of labor. Anyone who doesn’t recognize that has never farmed. There’s a reason guys like Jefferson were called Renaissance men. He had detailed records of what to plant, where, what was susceptible to X disease, what to cross, etc.

Farming and what you call “progress” are not mutually exclusive. I have used and currently use drones, mobily, and Azure DevOps to track everything from user stories and tasks down to water runoff and efficient placement of flora. I was formally trained as a EE and transitioned into CS. I find myself using not the courses I took, but the engineering discipline they instilled in me, far more on my small farm than at work.

'Reality' Doug
'Reality' Doug

I don’t doubt technology and agricultural information are not better than ever. Maybe being successful, farmer or not, is proof or at least indication one is smart. If it were easy to be a success, everyone would be. Bloomberg is smart where it counts. He has political power and can father children. I can’t. I know it hurts but I only go by evidence. Jefferson, great man, was a failed farmer. Tobacco was the cash crop and the farms in Virginia got farmed out into red clay. Jefferson was perpetually in debt. Maybe being smart as narrowly defined is not the right kind of smarts or not smart at all. Anyway, several of the Founders were overlord farmers and they did not do so well. Success is its own merit. Smart for the times, that’s nearly impossible in decline. Bloomberg has kicked ass. Farmers, not so much. Sorry.

Intelligence and guile are two entirely different things. How did he make his money? There’s not a billionaire in this country who gained his wealth honestly. He monopolized trading desks but no one on Wall Street ever goes to prison. And they won’t this time. My guess? Many of them end up getting dragged into the streets like Black Friday 1869. But that won’t happen here for a few years.

Jefferson was a brilliant farmer, botanist, mathematician, statesman, geologist, cartographer, and linguist. He died owing money to his alma mater and those turds still won’t let UVA alum live it down. The most successful men and women in civilization rarely were good with both wealth and intellectual advancement. Choose one or the other, not enough time in life (unless you’re lucky) to have both.

Bloomberg made his choice. I’ve forgotten more about IT and farming than he’ll ever know. He’s forgotten more about oligarchy than I’ll ever know. I will never be wealthy and truth be told, it really doesn’t interest me for whatever reason. I can live with that.

Thanks AOC on Jefferson. +1000. His seed sharing and development alone was genuis. He wasn’t trying to feed everyone, he was experimenting, and it worked. They didn’t care about whether they made money, they cared about what worked. RD needs a glass half full, wtf? Doomberg is the antithesis of a Jefferson and can’t hold a candle to the mans intellect and curiosity.

'Reality' Doug

Bloomberg was connected before he became a billionaire, no doubt. I’d like to challenge your main thesis, but it seems true enough in general and certainly very true now. I would like to instill this idea into any readers: Imposing social norms that bring into harmony the rewards of wealth and contributions to the progress of the human condition such that the latter is incentivized and fueled by the former. I have a dream, a bloody dream that blooms into a forest of freedom. I have a dreaaaammm to-day. The plowshare and the sword in the same hand always. I have a dreeeeeaaaaaam to-day. The warrior is the philosopher. I have a dream that flows like waters bending animals to natural emancipation. I have muh dream today!

Yes, you are all together. I concur with no reservations. A thought experiment with clean food but no pussy ever, how’s that one go? Or clean food always but no music? Did TJ always have clean food or did he risk going hungry to pursue greatness?

Clean food and togetherness: glories of the contented domesticated animal. Add an invincible shepherd and I think you’re on to something.

I must have had the sequence wrong? My first year of attempting to grow food was just short of a disaster. In fact we would have starved if we had to depend on our backyard crops to live on.
But, everytime I push the “on” button on my Mac AirPro it works. Obviously, I’m a tech genius with lots of gray matter! Little did I know.

Anyone who would say this has never even tried to grow a backyard garden!

All Politician's suck but which ones swallow?

The sage sayings of Mike the Kike…. that should be the new campaign slogan. Never forget that Bloomberg is Jewish, that defines everything about him. Really? You can get up at 3-4 am and work till 8 or 9 pm lifting/repairing/operating heavy industrial farm equipment and dealing with the stress that you may lose the farm? BS, you’re not strong enough or have the endurance. That’s why snake oil salemen like you go into managing other people’s money because you can’t actually make your own.
Sh*t, you can’t even reach the first step on a tractor.

Getting a seed to sprout is one thing, and it can be dicey enough at that. Getting enough sprouts to maturity in order to eat and to feed others-that’s a whole different matter. Bloomberg is an idiot. Obviously.

Someone suggested the 3 billionaire oligarchs which own the GOP: Adelson, Singer and Saban, and the 3 billionaire oligarchs which own the DNC: Soros, Bloomberg and Steyer should be taken out to a farm and forced to do manual labor. Of course they would burst into flames like vampires the instant the shovels touched their hands.

Here’s a thought: if you don’t like or approve of something some body does just boycott them. Don’t buy or consume anything the produce or distribute . That will really show them how strongly you hold to your convictions.
Yep! If you don’t like farmers, there is no one forcing you to buy or consume the things which they produce.

Yes, I posted the same reply before but I think it bares repeating.

Oh, and one other thought: Did you know the farmers are the only folks in the world who can go broke year after year and you still can’t starve them out. Some how they always have enough food to eat. Now! how smart is that?
