Panic? You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet…

Authored by Brandon Smith via Alt-Market.com,

One rule every preparedness expert should go by is to always be concerned when establishment authorities, the media and “shoe shine boys” start volunteering their “expert” opinions on why you should not be concerned about a particular danger.  The establishment most likely has an agenda to keep you passive, and the shoe shine boys are simply regurgitating what they hear from the media like good little robots.  These people are far too interested in whether or not you are preparing for a threat; in fact they seem hell bent on talking you out of preparation in general.  Why is that?

In the past two months I have seen an endless flow of mainstream news stories arguing first, that Covid 19 is nothing to worry, and second, that the public is “in a panic” over the virus.

  • The first assertion is obviously ridiculous. With an official death rate of around 6% in Italy alone, I think we are starting to see what the Chinese government has been trying to hide as they continue to threaten their citizens with punishment for leaking “fake news” (FACTS) on the coronavirus. This event is not something to be taken lightly; it is a paradigm shifting scenario which will change the world forever.
  • The second assertion seems to be a calculated exaggeration; a form of reverse psychology. Keep telling people they are “panicking” when they are not and maybe they will go to the other extreme and passively do nothing at all just to avoid the label. I have to say, I don’t think people in this day and age know what a mass “panic” actually is, especially if their only point of reference is some empty toilet paper shelves at Costco.

In terms of the stock markets one could say a “panic” has FINALLY ensued as trillions in capital are being wiped out daily, but this does not affect the average person financially in the short term. The stock market matters only in that it is a psychological placebo which keeps people from looking into the deeper problems within the fundamentals of the economy. They see the stock market is doing well, they don’t bother to investigate anything else.

Now that stocks are crashing perhaps the public will look into other more important factors, including historic levels of corporate and consumer debt, the global dollar liquidity shortage and the Fed’s repo crisis, the global plunge in exports and manufacturing, the retail Apocalypse in the US, collapsing Treasury yields, collapsing oil prices, etc. Most of these are problems that existed long before the coronavirus, but maybe now people will start paying attention to them.

These problems will still be lost on the shoe-shine boys, who will continue to call you a “chicken little” for merely taking practical precautions in case of disaster.

A friend of mine was talking with some people at a local gas station about getting prepared just in case supply lines break down during the pandemic.  A highway patrolman overheard him and decided to butt into the conversation, smugly telling everyone this is “just another Y2K” and it only kills people over the age of 80.  My friend related to me that he tried to present a rational case for why his concerns go beyond just the virus…but the dumb cop just grinned and ignored him.

I had an interesting encounter a few weeks ago myself, when I was surprised to find a box of N95 masks at a hardware store.  I went to purchase them to add to my supply and a cashier in a little vest decided to regale me with a long list of reasons why the coronavirus is “no worse than the flu” and there’s nothing to worry about.  None of his information was correct, but it’s not really my job to save every all-knowing cashier I come across, so I just told him “I guess we’ll find out in a couple of months…but it’s better to be found prepared than it is to be found stupid.”  The box of masks I purchased for $14 is now selling for $100, if you can even find them.

JFK Sr. related a story about how he knew the stock market crash of 1929 was coming when a shoe-shine boy started offering him unsolicited investment tips on the “best stocks” to purchase.  He pulled his money out immediately and markets crashed days later.  This is what I mean by “shoe shine boys” – These people are a litmus test or warning signal for smarter observers.  They represent a focal point of blind optimism and arrogance within our society. They are one of the best contrarian indicators of what you should be doing in the face of a crisis.

The highway patrolman and the hardware store cashier are the same people that will be raging a month from now about how they can’t find anything they want at the grocery store and how they can barely leave the house because of the pandemic spread.  They are the same people that will be demanding handouts from others two months from now when the supply chain has completely broken down.  All they had to do was stock extra supplies of goods they normally use anyway, but they are more interested in being the “smartest guys in the room”.

This past week, government welfare leach Elon Musk decided to do some pandering for his globalist masters with a Tweet about how “coronavirus panic is dumb”. The special guest attendee of the World Government Summit knows full well what all this is about. It is the job of gatekeepers like him to try to convince the public to be as inactive as possible in the face of a legitimate threat. It’s not only about the virus, which Musk has no understanding of whatsoever; it’s also about the economic collapse that is occurring in the background of the pandemic.

How much do you want to bet that Musk has a grand emergency bunker of his own in case the worst happens?  Most of his elitist buddies have them.  But you trying to prepare?  You’re dumb and panicky…

What we are witnessing is not panic, it is preparedness, and on a relatively subdued scale at that. People stockpiling essentials for emergency situations is something that should be an American mainstay – a way of life. Already the phrase “hoarders” is being used in the media to label such people, so you can see where this is all headed.

When REAL panic ensues you will know it. When the public can’t find an open grocery store, then you will see panic. When there are checkpoints in and out of major metropolitan areas stopping people from leaving if they have any symptoms of illness, then you will see panic. When Covid-19 continues to circulate through the population for a year or more and does not disappear during the summer months as some people theorize, get ready for anger and panic.  When your local banks announce a financial “holiday” for an unspecified amount of time because of a credit crisis and lack of liquidity, and all the ATMs are shut down, then you will see panic.  When crime rates explode because of lack of supplies and people start fighting over access to the meager food lines at FEMA camps, THAT will be panic.

And don’t think for a second that this is not possible in this country, because it absolutely is. All it takes is for the global supply chain to break down for one month and there will be chaos like nothing the average person has seen in their lives.

Examples are already starting to materialize.

A reader of mine with inside information on Walmart corporate office decisions has recently told me that individual Walmart stores will no longer be able to order stock from warehouses (distribution centers); they will still be sent trucks randomly, and those trucks will only carry what the warehouses happen to have on hand at the time. In other words, Walmart stores will soon have huge holes in their inventories due to the supply chain breakdown.

This might be limited only to Walmart, but I suspect not. The supply chain crisis will probably develop slowly relative to the pandemic situation, in the span of a couple of months, but there are certain items that will disappear rather quickly. For example, there is a legitimate threat of a drought in medicines and pharmaceuticals in the US as Chinese manufacturing has not come back on line. There are also concerns that China may “weaponize” US dependence on their medical manufacturing and deliberately withhold shipments. I would stock any essential medications and over the counter drugs you might need now.

If you want to see real panic, just wait until the nearly 50% of Americans on at least one medication can no longer get their prescriptions filled. Wait until people who are physically dependent on their supply of insulin or heart medication can’t get any.  This is not a joke.  It is not something to sneer at or look down our noses at.

My purpose here is not to frighten readers, but to put things in perspective and prepare you for what is coming. Lack of toilet paper in Costco is a minor inconvenience.  Empty grocery stores and unfulfilled prescriptions is a nightmare.

The way to deal with this is simple – Prepare Now. Don’t listen to frauds like Elon Musk or the mainstream media when they accuse you of being a “hoarder” just for stocking supplies you would have normally purchased and used anyway over a longer period of time. There are only two reasons to discourage the public from prepping for a disaster:

1) Because the establishment is packed with idiots that do not like people breaking with the status quo and they want to maintain the illusion that all is well even at the expense of human lives.

2) Because the establishment wants to keep the masses as unprepared as possible so that as the disaster accelerates they will be unprepared and desperate, and thus easier to control with promises of government “aid” when the time comes.

Two weeks ago was probably the time you should have started preparing, based on what I have seen in TN. Drove by Costco today and the parking lot looked like Black Friday and this was 10:00am on a Thursday. Same thing at Kroger across the street.

Brandon is correct. When the grocery stores are not open and Walmart has nothing to sell, you had better be armed and ready for the roving gangs of scavengers that will be out.

Everything is going according to plan.

He said Wal=mart was swamped, and he saw two different women with grocery carts full to the top with canned goods…..

For years I’ve been barking to friends and family to get prepared. Nope, I don’t think 1 of them did. When I did get a response from anyone it was to tell me how wrong I was.
I won’t be rubbing it in anyone’s face but I won’t feel sorry for them either. I told you but you didn’t want to listen. As Granny always said “you made your bed, now lie in it”.
Have plenty of cash in hand for when the credit markets seize and the ATMs go silent. That is gonna be a real shit storm.

Old Timer, one of my 3 daughters has disowned me over my prepping for the last 8 years. She said I need help a few months ago. She is the ultra leftist in the family. I think she will have to make an apology soon. We’ll see. Kids (she’s 26) always know more than their parents until its obvious even in their minds they don’t. So, I can totally relate.

FWIW…. While Selenium is a necessary nutrient for good health , too much is toxic. That said, a 200 micrograms a day supplement is harmless and might even save your life.

Lipinski 2015, Ebola and Selenium: How not to catch the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)
February 23 · Public

The only people that can be infected by the 2019-n Coronavirus have less than 98.7 µg/L of Selenium in plasma or serum. Those who have enough Selenium are immune to this and all other enveloped viruses. Selenium can be obtained from Brazil nuts, Selenium pills or Astragalus tea.

This is why only some people get the flu and why others get it infrequently or never at all.
We only found this out in 2015 when Lipinski @ Harvard figured out why some people were immune to Ebola, a fact well documented in medical archives.

Two Brazil nuts a day will do it. An Asia astragalus tea is the primary source of selenium.

Sure they will. The public is all about looking into global dollar liquidity and collapsing treasury yields. Especially when they’re lined up for toilet paper.

HSF: Had to take care of business that forced me into town today. Thursday, no holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas and the crowds were, if anything, worse than on those holidays. Grocery store: Paper products gone, ditto rice, cleaning supplies and canned goods. I didn’t have the courage to go to Walmart, waaay too many people.
As to your point about the cluelessness of the public when it comes to financial matters…..yup. There is a domino cascade of financial misery rolling down the tracks, the service and hospitality industries are tanking, ditto airlines along with other businesses. When business goes off, the employees are laid off and no hope of finding jobs in this fearful climate. Venezuela looms large.

Paper products gone, ditto rice

Dropped off 22 lbs of rice for the local food bank tonight (town of 300, run by local church). 5 2 lb bags, 12 1 lb bags. Usually about a dozen families seek help; think there will be more demand for its services this month. We have more for our neighbors next month.

Any critical thinking person seen the writing on the wall a long time ago.Since 2008 people have had 11+ years to get their Physical,Mental,Spiritual,Financial, and Stores in order. It was much easier to mock and ridicule those that prepared. Too bad for them.I put up with their shit for years. Now perhaps they were wrong. We will see. It is like that Esop’s fable. Did an inventory of food. Could probably make it 2 months easy if we had to. We could stand to lose a few pounds anyway, so maybe even more than that. Have always had plenty of extra TP, paper towels, batteries, propane, firewood, and the like on hand. Biggest concern now is a friend’s blind son that is in college nearby and his likely camping out with us for 3 weeks while the university system pretends to get their shit together. He has been stocking up food and TP for the past couple of weeks, so that will all come with him, thus relieving us of the burden….but still. The panic is way worse than the virus. This is indeed a test that will be repeated sometime in the future when TPTB see “an opening.” Might teach him how to clean some guns while he’s here. He’s a pretty good shot with a .357 magnum.

“The Coronavirus is not as much about feeling icky as it is about collapsing economic development, and not only here at home in America but world-wide. The stirred-up medical panic is faux, made-up, being sold as a crisis.”

Marc Serota (one of our former allergy fellows at Childrens Mercy) posted this on facebook. I think it is the clearest statement regarding Coronavirus I have seen per one of our Current Asthma/allergy Doctors:
From an MD immunologist:

I don’t post a lot on facebook but I would like to give my perspective and context on the coronavirus outbreak. I hope I can be a more reputable source of perspective as a physician who specializes and is board certified in immunology (as well as pediatrics, allergy and dermatology).

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses. “coronavirus” is not unique to this particular strain. Everyone reading this has likely had another different coronavirus infection. This particular strain has been named COVID-19.
Every upper respiratory virus has the potential to be lethal. Patients unfortunately die from many upper respiratory viral infections every year – most prominently the influenza virus. 30,000 people died from the influenza virus in 2019. The media didn’t report each one. They have reported all 11 coronavirus deaths. Not telling us about the people lost but rather keeping a death “toll”.

Let me repeat that:
-Coronavirus: 11 deaths (US in 2020), 3300 deaths (China in 2020).
-Influenza: 30,000 deaths (US in 2019).

*Influenza pandemic of 1918: 675,000! (US), 20-50 MILLION!! (worldwide) <—These people I think would have been in favor of receiving their annual flu vaccine. This is not meant to minimize any of these deaths but rather to give context and put some facts to the hysteria.

If you’re healthy, there is no need to walk around wearing a mask. In addition to looking silly and most of the time wearing/taking them off wrong – which would actually make you more prone to acquiring an infection, they don’t prevent you from getting sick. If you’re actually sick stay away from people and then, sure, wear a mask so you aren’t spreading respiratory droplets every time you cough/sneeze. In medicine we don’t wear the masks you’re buying and we wear other protective equipment – not just a silly looking mask you found on Amazon. When you see doctor’s walking around the world wearing a mask then you should too. Until then, stop.
The symptoms are that of the flu. As doctors we don’t test or know about most people with mild or moderate flu symptoms. That means most people will probably get it and just think they had the flu. That means you’re only going to hear about the cases that get serious – not all the minor ones which will be the vast majority of cases.

When it is said that people who are older or have other medical conditions are most likely to die – that is equally true for EVERY upper respiratory virus. There is nothing unique about that to this particular virus. It does mean that the only cases we tend to know about are the severe ones. Once a case is severe it then makes sense to test the patient to find out what virus in particular they have. That means you can easily overestimate how severe or lethal the virus is because the only cases you end up knowing about are the serious ones.

Coronavirus Panic is Palpable & COMPLETELY Unnecessary – The REAL Agenda is Economic Destruction

Our local Costco was telling people that a truck load of TP was coming in on a certain day and that if they wanted any they should come early on that day; Then for some reason that truck got diverted to somewhere else. Sorry no TP.

Also Costco normally has the “overhead racks” fully loaded up so when the pallet on the floor is low or empty they just bring down a full pallet. Now very little is in the overhead racks.

FWIW My last trip into town to go to the grocery store was more than two weeks ago, I’ve been self-isolated at my property ever since. I plan on waiting another two weeks and assessing the situation then whether to replenish my groceries or transition to my long term supplies. I should be able to go for about six months on what I have.

Everyone, i was half way reading this and realized everyone gets paid tomorrow after todays stock bloodbath. I jumped out of bed at midnite. Grabbed my son and went to walmart.

Please listen to me. There was literally nothing on the shelves. I spoke to workers they said it finally slowed up around 11pm. About 12% of all the cans were dented. No canned meat. Lots of canned fruit. No rice, no sugar, no flour. Some oats. Batteries plentiful. No water. These people are sheep. I walked most of the grocery area and as a skilled prepper I saw tons of things the sheeple missed. Like pool chlorine but no bleach. 3 pack off brand baby wipes for $4.99 but zero toilet paper. Tones of pink canned salmon. Anti bacterial soap was plentiful. No lysol no wipes. Hand sani nope. The produce dept was literally untouched. There is a full panic on people. No vitamins, no otc meds. The baby isle had some things people missed. Like pre natal vitamins. Tons of epsom salt. But no table salt. Lots of rock salt. The workers were complicit and gave no stare or weird looks of buggies full of shtf things. For those that have been delaying because you did not want to be made fun of etc, well you will not be….

I was topping off supplies and found what i needed but a sheep would be upset. The fear the panic is real no matter. The effects are here. I can now visualize martial law. Its slowly materializing.

The panic is real. The effects of panic is real. Super Walmart at 1am this morning had no canned goods, paper items or pharma. Bleach gone so i got enough pool shock tablets to disinfect 1m gallons of drinking water because the sheeple dont know how to prep and i wanted more….once the stock mkt investors cash out and have no place to hide because money mkt funds can go down also now under new rules, there will be a run on cash at banks. Then they wil hit the silver gold markets. Then once they realize how manipulative the govt is in it they will hit coins. Coins are gone people you must order them and wait 4-6 days and your order is partially correct. If this panic gets worse within 4 weeks your silver dimes will come in handy. Trust me.

Found out from my cdc contact only the cdc is supplying official numbers of infected to keep the calm. The hospitals must send the positive samples to cdc they retest and hide the numbers. Her estimation is over 1m here are infected…..potential martial law and travel restrictions within 2-4 weeks if they feel the sheeple are already panicked then they will release real numbers and lock us down like italy. Italy now faces jail and homicide if you leave your home without your “papers” like nazi s

Mid week stores in atlanta were full while other smaller cities were bare. Seems they are keeping largest cities a priority and stores stocked…..rural they dont care about……reports from wlamart insider tells me corp is no longer taking inventory orders and are instead loading trucks with rndom items and shipping to stores. They get what they get. You will find huge holes of inventory
