Our Super Smart Elite Shines During This Pandemic!

We Americans are truly blessed by having a mainstream media full of brilliant renaissance men, women, and gender non-specific entities who are masters of so many varied and intermittently useful skills and who are eager to share their knowledge with us benighted souls. The pandemic has revealed that every urban Twitter blue check scribbler, MSNBCNN panelist, NYT/WaPo doofus, and barely legal “senior editor” of a website you never heard of, is a Nobel Prize-winning epidemiologist, a master logistician, and a diversity consultant too boot.

They may all be lousy journalists, but damn it, they are also lousy at other jobs that they didn’t even pretend to train to do.

It’s awesome to see people with zero life experience in any relevant field weighing in as if we shouldn’t just laugh in their pimply faces. Here’s the typical resume of one of these hacks:

  • Went to high school, and never went to parties
  • Went to college, majored in journalism, and never went to parties
  • Went to journalism grad school, and never went to parties
  • Works in the media, and goes to Manhattan/Georgetown cocktail parties

This apparently qualifies them to explain to people like us who have actually done something in our lives how stuff is supposed to work.

Each of them is an Official Junior Epidemiologist now, weighing-in on curve flattening and RO rates like they have any idea what any of it means. What’s really funny is how they now want to decide what we should hear by censoring the president and his team’s press conferences and then reporting to us only what they consider to be things we should know. Yes, the media presumes to decide what we need to know, not Dr. Fauci, not Dr. Brix, no, the media. Because the media is full of smart people who know stuff or something.

Well, its record is poor. The media largely fell for the Imperial College Apocalypse Flu scenario, but then they wanted to. It’s more fun to be chronicling the Fall of Rome than Just Another Day in the Third Century A.D. under Emperor Elagabalus. The doomsayers ended up walking back their zillion dead to a few thousand dead, and the media just sort of ignored it because “Phew! Dodged a bullet!” doesn’t have the same resonance as “WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE (and it’s Trump’s fault, not our ChiCom friends’ fault).”

Another hitherto unknown skill that the media believes it possesses is logistics. “Why hasn’t Trump commanded a million ventilators to appear?!” the reporters demand. It’s pretty easy to see where they might have gotten the idea that the moment one articulates a desire to possess something that it magically appears. Capitalism has pretty much made that a reality. If you want something, you can go to a store and get it 24/7, or you can go on Amazon and it’ll be at your Manhattan apartment in 48 hours.

Since they have never built anything or transported anything or distributed anything, only benefited from the labor of the unhip people who do those things, it’s only natural that the delayed adolescents who make up our media class imagine that material goods can be simply wished into being. After all, for all practical purposes during normal times, because of the efforts of Americans they look down upon, material goods pretty much can be simply wished into being. But prosperity takes work, not that the media would know.

Rhodes scholar Racheal Maddow mocked our Navy over the idea it could sail a floating hospital up to New York, leveraging her nautical knowledge to insist it was weeks away. It took all those water army people a week. Oh, and the ground army simultaneously built a full hospital in a few days. And, amazingly, almost none of the folks doing it attended Haaaaaarvard. But hey, our media elite has contributed – it’s accomplished…uh…um…shut up, racists!

The same people who are always telling us how smart they are and how they are morally entitled to instruct us peasants have never designed anything, engineered anything, built anything, trucked anything or assembled anything, except maybe some crappy Ikea bookcase. But they are qualified to insist that – POOF! – a bunch of N95 masks should magically appear overnight. I guess everything is easy if you don’t have to do it yourself.

What’s even more amusing is their solution to the “problem” of stuff not magically appearing, which is socialist central planning. They lambasted Trump for not using the Defense Production Act to command companies to build stuff the government wanted. Yeah, nothing like commanding civilians to do things to make them do it at a faster rate than under the snail-like, plodding pace of modern business. Of course, Trump did use the DPA once when GM started dithering – and immediately got criticized for it. Remember, when journalisming, you start from the conclusion that “TRUMP IS TERRIBLE” and work backwards.

The media types were delighted to find empty shelves in our supermarkets in the early part of the crisis, which many turned into an occasion for owning the cons over complaints about the scarcity of goods in socialist countries. Here’s the thing they missed, because they are stupid and unserious people: Those goods that are no longer on the Safeway shelves are on American families’ shelves at home. In socialist countries, there was never anything on the store shelves.

Apparently, the media class thinks there are giant warehouses with an endless supply of goods just sitting there, somewhere, waiting. They have no idea about how logistics work, how goods flow quickly from producer to market and how expected resupply levels need a few days to adjust from a 10 percent daily turnover to a 30 percent daily turnover. They have zero appreciation for inventory management because no one they know does unglamorous stuff like that.

It’s all much easier in a socialist command economy. You get nothing and like it. Or don’t like it. Whatever. Here’s your weekly bean allowance. Workers of the world unite. You have nothing to lose but access to toothpaste and toilet paper.

The best part is when the media – the same media that was collectively soiling its Dockers because that mean old Trump was barring direct flights from China because of racism and stuff – demands to know why, back in December, Trump was not commanding a zillion Wuhan Flu tests, a zillion masks, and a zillion ventilators be created, while locking down all of America. Leaving aside the whole lack of an enumerated power to do that thing, in what world would have Trump have convinced anyone – least of all the media that was slobbering over his bogus impeachment at the time – that some bat soup-derived pathogen in BumFoo, China, was going to black swan all over America’s economy? The lack of seriousness by the people who presume to be reporting the news to us is more breathtaking than the damn ChiCom grippe.

Our media is garbage, full of clowns and dilettantes with no experience and less common sense. The media is now complaining that the pandemic is hurting its industry badly and that some of the media may go under because of the Woking Pneumonia. Well, I guess you can’t paint anything all black.

Yes, the talking heads have a vacuum between their ears for which they get paid millions to propagandize the population dumb enough to listen to them.

I guess Schlichter believes we should listen to the likes of Fauci and Brix because the medical profession is so damned reliable. These are the folks curing cancer any day now after 50 years of spending our money. The same folks who gave a portion of the population Guillain-Barré syndrome from one of their fabulous vaccines. And let’s not forget the vaccine court that exists because vaccines are always safe and effective.

Where did the autism explosion come from? Parents are pointing at vaccinations but the medical profession insists it can’t be that even though their poisons are full of mercury, aluminum and Thimerosal.

If these asshats decide that everyone needs some new bullshit vaccine, that’s when the shooting may start.

Nobody will do any shooting, that courage has long since been bred out or educated out of people. People by and large are mostly stupid sheep.

The mainstream media has always been dishonest. From the “yellow journalism” of the late 1800s and early 1900s to today’s “fake news”, journalism has shown its true (communist) roots.

From the lies about the Spanish-American war to the New York Times’ walter duranty hiding the truth about and denying the artificially engineered and forced communist “famine” in the Ukraine, to the lies about the 1968 Viet Nam communist Tet offensive (a military victory for the South Vietnamese and American troops) reported by walter cronkite as a military defeat, cronkite and his ilk were successful in prolonging the Viet Nam war for years, giving “aid and comfort” to the enemy, who bragged about being supported by the U S media.

Look at NBCs doctoring of GMC truck gas tanks, rigging them to explode, and the deliberate mischaracterization of George Zimmerman’s conversation withe the 911 dispatcher, deleting a key phrase, as well as showing Trayvon Martin as a 12-year-old cherub rather than his more recent “thug” facebook picture.

The media has become a “fifth column” of the government and is not to be trusted. The CIA has had its hooks in the media since the 1950s. In fact, Hollywood script writers were paid to insert anti-drug messages in their scripts during the “drug hysteria” period of the 1980s through 2000s.

Today, we have “crisis actors” embedded in our government and media, the same “crisis actors” who keep showing up, being used in every (fake) “crisis”. The mainstream media keeps parroting these impostors, thinking that we are stupid, not being able to see through their lies and deceptions.

To our advantage, we now have the internet, which gives the ordinary citizen the ability to see through the deceptions and lies, and the capability to be real “journalists”, quite often getting and reporting the story TRUTHFULLY before the mainstream media.

In fact, there are calls by “mainstream media” to “license” journalists, in an attempt to keep these “citizen journalists” out…twenty years ago, any journalist suggesting such a scheme would have been thrown out, but nowadays…who knows?

The Propertarian updates to the Constitution include making criminal any public speech that isn’t truthful. That would be a good start.

It isn’t the mutt reporters, editors, copy boys and other apparats that will be bailed out, but their masters. The owners of the Buffalo Times (or whatever) will get the buck, not the reporter that used to do such a good job of covering the school board. None of this Feeral faux money is designed to help anyone but those at the very top.

Coronavirus® is a scam, so is the reporting about it, the government reactin to it, and the “money” being printed to mitigate it. All a scam, and the MSM does not say a word. They are desperately worried. They know that they will be run out of town (at best) if their complicity in this dirty hoax is revealed.

I would like to say that he American population is intelligent enough to see through this hoax, I doubt this is the case. In the end the truth will be told but, the perps will claim it was not a hoax and that all the precautions that the people took worked. The perps will praise the sheeple and thank them for putting up with all the discomfort. The perps will exit this pile of bull crap unscratched & undamaged. The big question will remain, What is Next? This shit storm is not over by a long sight.

Ah, yet another anonymous poster stating unequivocally that covid 19 is a scam. Please, oh hidden, cowardly one, cite your proof of it’s being a scam. Show us where people haven’t died in Italy and Iran and elsewhere. Show us how the cruise ships are also fakes….please

What stuns me the most is grown ass people, people who I assume have held jobs, raised kids, paid bills, things of that nature, just take this crap hook, line, and sinker. These are not millenials either. These are 50+ year old “adults” who suddenly have become paralyzed with fear and indecision, and actually have ceased to use the gray matter located in the bone locker they refer to as their head.
Suddenly this is it…this is the apocalypse. Never mind mankind, ooops, sorry, HUMANKIND has survived much, much worse.
The Black Death killed between 30-60% of Europe’s population. Very bad indeed. But guess what? It also ended feudalism, a terrible, terrible societal structure that allowed the renaissance to happen.
Now..you may ask yourself…what could the silver lining to this current “pandemic” be? Well, I think it definitely pulled the curtain back on the men pulling the levers behind the scenes. We now see how tenuous was the thread that held the economy up, local, federally, and globally.
We were floating along drugged up like a junkie on a SF sidewalk. Debt was our heroin. We all loved it, gorged on it, and like a junkie pursued it to our ruin.
People financed autos out to 72 months. People on SNAP were able to buy 60′ flatscreen TVs. Buyers financed homes with less than 1000 in the bank as savings.
No one cared!!! Why? Well because we were all able to have the latest shiny new Whatever-phone with it’s amazing camera that can take photos in dim light! Dim light! Wow! So what if it costs 900 bucks? I have to be able to take photos in dim light for my SnapFace and InstaCrap account! I need to be able to tell all my 2000 Faceshit friends I still virtue signal even when the lights are low!!!
We are now almost entirely a society who value is based on what we can post and how many reposts, and checkmarks, and likes, and 100 emojis we get.
People that lived through the Black Death and were released from feudalism took advantage of it. We as a species learned. Learned value in our own hard work benefiting us, not the feudal Lord who died while pustules broke open under is arms.
The pustules breaking open is the rotten pile of debt that is now forming globally.
When 70% of an economy is based on people going to restaurants, movies, and hotels, we are truly fucked. With a capital F.
Well, get ready with your dim light photography everyone. Your going to need it to take pictures of your squalor when the lights are off.

Mygirl...maybe

Well, if you didn’t survive the Black Death then, tough titty? Sucks to be you? Guess you’d be ok with being one of the dead? I’m sure those suffering and dying consoled themselves with the knowledge that their dying had a great benefit for someone else, right?

realestatepup

I think you missed my point. While the virus is certainly something to be taken seriously, it is not the apocalypse and humanity will go on. My point was is that for every negative there is a positive and in this case, we will have to realize we cannot go on addicted to debt making nothing of value.

The majority of the strong have been killed off in the wars of the last 200 years especially in the west. This has left the morons and weak to become the majority which leads to ruin. Even further back, the strongest left the scandinavian countries to find their fortunes with most never returning. This left the weakest and most brain addled to reproduce with the results seen today. Preserving all the weak destroys a society.

Watched one of Trump’s press briefings a couple days ago and was surprised to see that Jim Acosta idiot still sitting in the pressbox. What didn’t surprise me was his asking stupid questions and drawing Trump’s ire.
Good entertainment, even if the mutual disrespect made me uneasy. Some people just don’t learn and it’s how they want it, so they get it.

Regardless what one thinks of Hunter S. Thompson, he nails it here.

“The press is a gang of cruel faggots. Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuckoffs and misfits—a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage.”

― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Does anybody on TBP actually know a person who died from this disease? I know of one who was married to a hs friend of my wife. Never met the guy.

Mainstream journalism is a group of corporations who own the means of distribution of the news. It only happens if the write about it or show it.

Harrington Richardson

Don’t let the normalcy bias of being right mostly about politics and politicians, bankers etc. blind you to what a disease is doing. The disease has no affiliation beyond wanting to eat us, regardless of all the rest. Have we lost our ability to do math here at TBP? This thing is doubling every three days. If we have 10,000 dead by Saturday or Sunday will we begin to take this seriously? Are we being dumb fuques sitting in the air conditioned Maginot Line drinking wine laughing at those silly Germans and people telling us they mean us harm?

overthecliff

You are assuming that the press is telling us the truth about the statistics. You would be assuming that the governments weren’t feeding the press lies.

Harrington Richardson
Harrington Richardson

About April 15th there will be tens of thousands dead, if not, I will then feel justified calling bullshit. This “may” be the perfect storm: Normalcy bias that the government is full of shit, a press that is mostly comprised of the little assholes who called wolf until it meant nothing, and an illness contagious enough and harmful enough to kill shit pots full of people unlucky enough to have gotten it in too short a time frame to be properly treated.

hardscrabble farmer

If you have never met someone then that guy doesn’t qualify as someone you know, right?

And I have yet to meet or speak to anyone who knows of anyone who died. It’s always six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Mygirl...maybe

And your world is vast, huge even. Living in a small town won’t generally get you too many people who knows of someone. How’s about this? My brother has a fellow employee in hospital in critical condition with the virus. If he dies I’ll let you know. Will that count?

hardscrabble farmer

My father is 80. He just had a kidney removed and is on dialysis. He lives in Princeton NJ which is a suburb of Wuhan China if you’ve visited lately. I have an aunt who’s been in an ICU for 2 months after a triple bypass went bad.

When either of them dies from it, we’ll talk.

Right now it’s nothing but mass hysteria by any definition, being fronted by a thoroughly incompetent media acting as a mouthpiece for a corrupt government.

Forgive my reluctance to be duped.

Oh, and this curious little tidbit shouldn’t be seen as the red flag it is-

The Affirmative Action Surgeon General told the public (us Goy) the masks would not benefit them. The CDC Chief and MSM experts say that CV-19 was natural and came from the Wuhan Market not the Wuhan Bio-Lab when we know Chinese students associated with the Wuhan Lab stole it from a Bio-Lab in Canada. TPTB don’t want to be held responsible for the CV-19 Holocaust they caused; but they should be. The CDC held up testing for a month so CV-19 could spread undetected in the USA. Our border was open to Chinese two months after their New Year so they could bring it here. South Korea experts make the American experts look stupid.

overthecliff

One little mistake ,Robert, American experts aren’t stupid they are evil.

Mygirl...maybe

Quiet Robert, you are making like the virus is real rather than a hoax that most of the enlightened believe it to be. They conveniently forget Iran, Italy, China and Cruise ships and they also convemiently forget how the Chinese destroyed their economy over that ‘hoax.’

Harrington Richardson

Don’t forget how everything was tied up at a crucial time by the scum sucking Democrat filth and their pack of lies Impeachment charade followed by their joke of a Senate trial. During this time Trump, not the Democrat filth geniuses but Trump began banning travel and was called a racist and sued. These filth are going to try the same shit once more in the early Fall assuming they survive. Their heads should be on pikes on the White House lawn.

The quality of our political leadership generally matches the quality of the media blabberers. Why do they hate President Trump so much? He simply shines a bright light on their stupidity, ignorance, marxist bias and incompetence.

Actually my theory is that to the leftists he represents authority, and adult maturity….he’s Daddy and they are spoiled little children used to having their way.

That makes sense. I heard one lady on “The Next Revolution” say “Trump has put glass walls on the sausage factory.” Those Deep State vampires have been screaming under the bright lights and I’d like them to get a real bad sun burn. As in REALLY bad.

Apparently those that couldn’t make it in the media are doing minor league posting comments on ZH. I swear those comment boards have become useless.
On another topic, I just heard from Kitco that the Pt I ordered 3 weeks ago that was to ship Monday was ‘double booked’ with someone else who completed their order seconds before mine, and they don’t have the metal to ship. They offered to put the money into the ‘pool’, and ship the metal when they restock. Great. We’ll see what happens.
