Cost to implement:
1. Code enforcement spends 4 hours drawing up plans
2. Maintenance dept spends 3 hours pricing out materials and labor
3. A formal report is created from these dept, and sent to town hall for a vote
4. after 3 days of discussing pros/cons a vote is held, and it is decided that Joes local h/w will provide materials “at cost” but, will still invoice the town for full price, knowing that purchasing cannot figure out how to file these emergency orders.
5. 7 days later, the drafting dept. draws up plans, and send the blueprints to maintenance, who makes changes that require code to stamp off on.
6. 7 days later, with plans fully approved, Mike, the new hire in maintenance, finds some scrap wood and covers up all the basket ball rims, in 2 hours.
This, is every town in every country on earth.
Every idiot in .gov (state/local/national), is still getting paid, to sit at home, and do what they previously did in the office, which is nothing.

Yesterday on NextDoor the women of SW Minneapolis got into a big discussion about the wisdom and/or necessity of taking the nets off of the tennis courts around town (which the Park Board is actually doing). Ostensibly it’s because people weren’t “social distancing” enough. There were 100 comments there when I looked (and I got off of there before I accidentally committed candor). The comments broke into two camps:
1) This is ridiculous; people playing tennis are 40′ apart and pose no danger whatsoever of COVID spread or
2) Banning tennis is the least we can do to stop the spread of COVID and keep our healthcare heroes safe.
Not one single person mentioned the REAL reason behind taking the tennis nets down: You can’t block the basketball hoops (which the Park Board is also doing) and not take the tennis nets down. That would be rayciss. The hacktivists would be saying “Oh sure, you stop the brothers from playing ball, but you let them white people keep playing they sport.” So if you’re going to do something that black people won’t like, you have to do something else that will annoy white people just as much – even if the “danger” of physical contact is totally different.
And gob bless Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotin for making such a wonderful suggestion as to how to carry out mass executions.
