Get Flynn – Part 2

Guest Post by Skinny

In part 1 I looked at the background of the Mike Flynn case and why Obama wanted him nailed.  This picks up with the deep state efforts to entrap Flynn.

Mary McCord was the Principal Deputy Assistant General for the National Security Division (NSD).  Its quite the trick.  You combine education, law enforcement, administration, military, and security (not to mention a parenthetical) all in one attorney.  With a title like that, it’s easy to look down one’s nose at someone like Trump.  What’s he like the President-elect or something?  Big deal.

Mary was recruited into the Get Flynn conspiracy by FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on January 3rd.  It turns out Mary was a stickler for taking notes but her ability to recall the meaning of those notes is somewhat lacking.  Throughout her July 17, 2017 interview with the Special Counsel’s Office we learn that “McCord could not recall,” or “McCord didn’t recall” the meaning of her notes.  We also learn that McCord learned about the existence of the Logan Act, from Bob Litt, an attorney at the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).  That’s the deep state bureau run at the time by the unintelligent James Clapper.  Anyway, Mary made a note to look it up.  Once she did, she discovered the act was signed into law by John Adams in 1799.  She would also discover that in the laws 217 years of existence no one would ever be convicted of violating it.  No matter, when the President tells you to Get Flynn you get him any way you can.

McCabe described the effort to keep the Crossfire Razor dumpster fire burning via the lack of Russian response to Obama’s sanctions.  This theory was thoroughly debunked in Part 1 of this series, but Mary was keen to the task.  Not so keen as to advise her boss, the acting Attorney General, for another 2 days, but nonetheless keen.  Her boss Sally Yates learned about Get Flynn from non-other than the President of the United States, Barack Obama who was equally keen on settling a score from a slight committed 2 years prior.

McCord never mentions the now infamous January 5, 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in her testimony.  Probably because she didn’t think much of the whole investigation.  We do know that she thought Flynn, as incoming National Security Advisor, had not violated it by talking to foreign counterparts.  In fact, nothing more happened on her end until January 13 when the FBI’s Peter Strozk and Bill Priestap briefed her and 3 other DOJ attorneys.  It was at this briefing she learned about payments by Russia Today to Mike Flynn some two years earlier.  She also learned that the FBI was trying to link this payment to a violation of the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).  This act adopted during Franklin Roosevelt’ s administration is almost as obscure as the Logan Act.  Since 1966 the government has only brought forward 7 cases and obtained convictions in just 3 of those.  Sometimes though, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

One of McCord’s notes of the call say “Need to decide what to do w/it and how to discuss w/ incoming.”

McCord could not recall what specifically what that meant but thought it might have something to do with discussions about the Flynn information and what to do with it.  You think so Mary?  Are you sure weren’t just sharing recipes?   After all, everyone knows that w/it and w/incoming are key ingredients in a proper bouillabaisse.

Translation.  Even though she initially believed that the Flynn nonsense was just that, she was coming around to the notion that the clever folks like herself at DOJ alongside the clever folks at the FBI could make something out it.  Chicken shit could be made into chicken salad.  And not just any chicken salad, a Waldorf Chicken Salad.

On January 17, 18, 19, 23 and 24th DOJ had either internal discussions or with the FBI, Office of the Director of National Intelligence about whether the FBI, or anybody else for that matter, should inform the president or vice president about the Flynn-Kislyak calls.  Of course, they never did.

During the January 24 meeting acting Attorney General Sally Yates stepped out to call Comey to tell him the FBI needed to inform the White House.  It was during that call that Comey informed her that he just sent his minions, Peter Strozk and Joe Pientka to interview Flynn.  Yates was “flabbergasted, and “dumbfounded,” But for some reason didn’t ask many questions.  Perhaps she was too busy clutching her pearls.  We also learned that dear Sally and fellow DOJ Attorney Matt Axelrod were annoyed that DOJ was not given an opportunity to weigh in on the decision or to offer input on the strategy.  That means they were fine with the entrapment strategy but were offended that they were left out of all the fun.  Later that day Matt Axelrod visited his favorite jeweler to purchase his own set of pearls so he too would have something to clutch during any subsequent calls with the FBI.

The January 24 “interview” between the FBI and Flynn was anything but.  It was a perjury trap. Strozk and Pientka purposely declined to advise Flynn of his rights, nor did the FBI alert anyone at the White House that they were going in.  In addition, while discussing the interview strategy, Strozk’s superior Bill Priestap actually wrote down “What is our goal? Truth/admission or to get him to lie so we can prosecute or get him fired?”  Maybe Priestap had reservations but Comey certainly did not.  He later admitted in a December,2018 interview that he sent the agents in because he knew that the new administration was unguarded at the time.  “I sent them, he admitted to interviewer Nicole Wallace.  “Something I probably wouldn’t have done or gotten away with a more organized administration.  When the FBI wants to send in agents to interview senior officials you typically work through the White House Counsel and there’s discussions and approvals, but I thought It’s early enough, let’s just send a couple guys over.” This interview occurred at the 92nd Street YMCA before a fawning crowd of Manhattan liberals.  Peals of laughter erupted throughout the woke crowd since denying civil liberties to a Trump official is the height of comedy.   During the interview itself Flynn told the agents, “you already know what’s on the call, you listen to everything.”  It didn’t matter.  The FBI as running a sting and the facts weren’t going to get in the way.

One of the advantages of the in crowd is you get to see all sorts of cool stuff that unimportant people like the President Elect don’t get to see, such as the transcript of the Flynn-Kislyak call from December 29, 2016.  You don’t even need to jump through multiple hoops like those yutz’s in Congress or the White House.  The transcripts of the Flynn calls came to McCord over the SIPRnet. Basically, it means it was emailed.  “Chief, its Max.  I’m sending you the top-secret transcript over the SIPRnet.  It proves that Flynn is actually an agent of KAOS, the international organization of evil.  He may even be the Mr. Big we have been looking for.”

Mary had the briefings, the transcript, the entrapment strategy, the whole thing while the incoming administration remained in the dark.  Flynn was alleged to be selling the country down the river, but no one was willing to let the nation’s leaders know.

Finally on January 26, 2017, 5 days after Trump’s inauguration, Yates and McCord went to the White House to brief White House Counsel Don McGahn about the Flynn matter.  McGahn was joined by another attorney, James Burnham.  Yates informed them of the transcripts existence but didn’t share them.  All she would say was that Flynn lied to the Vice President Elect Mike Pence and Pence repeated that lie on Meet the Press on January 15, 2017.  She also refused to reveal whether a criminal investigation was ongoing.  Yates cute response was “Its ok for you to ask, but its not ok for me to answer.”    Get with the program pal.  You’re just some schlub that happens to work for the President.  You will get nothing from me and like it.  “Woo-Hoo – Deep State Rules.”

The next day Yates and McCord went back to the White House to meet again with McGahn and Burnham and this time they brought up the Logan Act.  When McGahn scoffed at that notion Sally went into full conspiracy mode.  The National Security Adviser could be in a compromised position.  That’s it, the Russians were going to blackmail Flynn because, well that is, I mean, just trust me they are going to blackmail him.  She also failed to mention the matter was now a criminal investigation even though it was in the process of being transferred to the Eastern District of Virginia.

Yates let Comey know about the first White House meeting but she wasn’t sure she told him about the second meeting one.  Axelrod and McCord likely told others, but she is sure someone at NSD told someone at FBI.  As sure as God made them little green apples, some deep stater said something to some other deep stater, but it sure wasn’t anybody in the Trump Administration.

Yates was saving one final insult before departing the main stage. Prior to January 30, 2017, she never bothered to tell McGahn, or anyone else in the White House that she was instructing the Department of Justice not to enforce the travel ban instituted by Trump the previous week.  Hang a guy for not violating a statute that no one had been convicted for in its 222-year history, just fine.  Upholding an executive order issued by your boss?   Whoa!  That’s beyond the pale.

Despite the slight, Sally was in a giving mood.  She told McGahan that the Flynn-Kislyak transcript was available.  All he had to do to obtain it was grovel over to the FBI on all fours.  Once there he was lay prone on the floor and shoot nickels out his behind until the document was presented.  He could then sit up and cover his left eye with his right hand while rubbing his belly with his left hand until he had finished reading.  Obviously, no copies would be permitted, but note taking was allowed provided he continuously utilized his hands in the manner prescribed.  When UN Ambassador Susan Powers asked for a transcript, NSA delivered it immediately on a velvet pillow with multiple copies in parchment for her to give to friends and family as late Christmas gifts.  Same for the treatment for the Ambassadors to Turkey and Italy and 34 other people in the Obama Administration.  Joe Biden got a Cracker Jack box and they told him that inside the prize was a microfiche copy of the transcript.  Joe still has that box.  The Cracker Jack are gone, but he still has the box.

Two weeks later Flynn was sacked but his legal troubles were just starting.  Three years, a Special Counsel, two sets of defense attorneys, and even a motion to dismiss by the government later, they still aren’t over.

Part 3 will deal with the government’s actions to finally nail, unnail, and a crazy Judge attempts to renail Mike Flynn.

Well presented, a snapshot of the contorted inner workings of the most powerful public bureaucracy on earth.

These are the kind of people that should be in Gitmo getting waterboarded. The media and the outgoing administration sure didn’t give a shit about the citizens of our country.

This stuff goes right over the NPCs head.

I still think 2 other lines of attack are better.

1) Spying since 2012. Where is the declass of the 4 private contractors?

2) Tucker Carlson mentioned the wrong Michael Cohen from NY being used in the Steel Dosier to place the real one in Prague Czechoslovakia.

Here’s the point why or how would anyone even investigate the wrong Michael Cohen. So how did they even know the wrong one was there?

You get my drift?

Good job being done here. Kudos, sir!

The subjects of the piece, save for poor Gen. Flynn, are part of the group I think of as the Despicables, vile human beings whose presence in my home I would never tolerate. One wonders for how long decent folk will tolerate their presence on the planet. How on earth can anyone presumably with a high degree of native intelligence degenerate to such a dishonorable, morally repugnant condition? I’m a believer in Natural Law and I don’t believe that said condition can be blamed on lack of religious training. That could be a part of it, but the root cause goes deeper and I’m just not sure of it’s an innate character defect or learned behavior.

More like the ignoring of religious training here. The Comeys of the world are simply bad people. This is a man who claims to be a Roman Catholic yet said Hillary “shares our values.” He is a complete fraud and grifter.

Many people, even on Flynn’s side, may lack sympathy and respect for Flynn for caving in under pressure and pleading guilty. If he was innocent, then he lacked the balls to make a courageous stand and even lied by pleading guilty (if he knew he was innocent).

Of course, the lefties say Flynn must be guilty because he said he was guilty. Why would he do that if he was innocent?

And that’s the double-whammy Flynn has faced for yielding under pressure. Because, after all, optics are everything in a world of narratives. Yet, the optics, and public opinion, could be changed if Flynn could be shown to have yielded to authoritarian monsters for a noble purpose. Because that could be the very means to sway public opinion back to positive and, even, instill righteous indignation in the hearts and minds of conservatives, right?

Well… turns out… Flynn did have a noble purpose: He was protecting his son. Last month, Flynn’s attorney told Sean Hannity that Team Mueller blackmailed Flynn by threatening to indict Flynn’s son.

Now, most readers here may know that, but the sleepy sheeple do not. It is, in fact, a very dangerous, and potentially viral, tale that, of course, the mainstream media and deep state must kill in the cradle.

Unfortunately, for them, it’s a matter of public record. For example, from NBC on Sept 13, 2017:

Michael G. Flynn, the son of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, is a subject of the federal investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election and possible collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign, according to four current and former government officials.

The inquiry into Flynn is focused at least in part on his work with his father’s lobbying firm, Flynn Intel Group, three of the officials said. It’s unclear when the focus on Flynn began.

Now, not to get ahead of ya Skinny, and your 3rd installment – but “deep state monsters blackmailing a general by threatening the general’s son ” is a far easier club to beat over the heads of said monsters, than is connecting the dots.

Everyone defending Flynn should just use that hammer to make nails of Flynn’s adversaries.

But is that being done? Or is all a sideshow? Or, is the Curious Case of General Flynn evidence of The Cult’s desperation… OR… a demonstration of their sheer power before a global audience?

And what part is Trump playing? White Knight? Or Reality TV Participant Controlled Opposition (either unwillingly or by design)?

These are not rhetorical questions.

Therefore, let’s poll TBP readers:

Please UPVOTE this comment for Trump as White Knight…

Or

DOWNVOTE this comment for Trump as Reality TV Participant Controlled Opposition (either unwillingly or by design)…

McCabe wrote that Flynn seemed “completely normal” — even when, on three occasions, Flynn looked at the window and told agents, “What a beautiful black sky.”

McCabe maintained that Flynn made that memorable comment three times — first, at “noon,” then an hour later, and then one more time shortly after that.

Hmm. Odd, right?

you know what bugs the hell out of me?
has anyone from either the republicans or the dems introduced a bill calling 4 congress to be notified when a person at or above a certain level is being investigated 4 serious crimes, esp natl security related crime? it seems to me that congress should have to be notified within 24-48 hours if a serious investigation is started, along w/potus unless he’s the subject of the investigation–the majority & minority leaders & chairmen of the appropriate committees in both houses of congress, along w/the leaders of intel agencies if natl security related,w/serious penalties 4 leaking, even to a staffer or another member–
just b/c they might have informally notified them is bs,it needs to be a law–
