COMMITTING NATIONAL SUICIDE

Guest Post by CCRider

I’ll forgive, for the moment, all those tired of my tirades against voting. My foundational premise was that this government is far too corrupt and captured by oligarchs to be swayed by public opinion. Look at how this duly elected president was dragged through the mud on transparently ridiculous, specious, and calculated means. They KNEW all along it would be completely discredited.

They KNEW the oath to the constitution they all make upon being sworn in is a cynical sham. They KNEW we are on to them. They KNEW we’re on to the fact that no real change is possible. We’re all going to have to ride this train until it wrecks. It’s probably why they launched this COVID farce when they did.

It has been my contention that if we could add another 5% of progressives and 5% of conservatives to the 40+% of us who now refuse to vote, their claims of “consent of the governed” and “Noone is above the law” would be laid bare for the nonsense it is. It was never in the cards. I’ve long since come to the conclusion that voting has become a moot point.

We’ve reached the John Adams threshold: “Remember Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.” Is there a better description of what we’re going through? Do you think voting is important? Fine, go ahead and waste your time. But start a garden because feeding your family is more important.

I found this podcast by Glenn Greenwald to be very illustrative of how hopeless and orchestrated the process has become. Here, he explains in great detail how congress was able to thwart the will of the vast number of Americans who despise the Afghan war with Trump’s recent and laudable attempt to bring those troops home. Leave it up to Greenwald, not only to expose Lynn Cheney for the war hag we all know she is but those democrats who play-act opposition when in actuality, they are oligarch loyalists. On matters of importance, there is one party.

Probably from the writings of Brigham Young. The map may have been some of the Mexican land holdings prior to the United States getting that land. The Mormons strongly considered settling in Mexico so they would not continue to be persecuted as much as in the US. Brigham liked the valley near the Great Salt Lake because he felt it was remote enough and would require too much work to eke out a living that most emigrants would steer clear of their new home.

Winny, how ’bout telling us the story of the Mountain Meadows atrocity-the true story and not the Mormon sanitized version?

I live in Canada. Things up here are much further gone and the corruption is through almost all levels of government. We’re well past the time when we could vote our way out of this.

If the USA fails, and the lights really do go out in New York city, the experiment has failed, and the shining city on the hill that is America is no more, what future does the rest of the world have?

Our giant county is being flooded with people from third world shitholes who don’t share Canadian values and many of whom are only here for the free stuff. Our government has all but shutdown our oil and gas industries and is poised to move to shutdown our forestry industries, all in the name of global warming and paid for by foreign interests. Our government is openly corrupt, donating billions of tax payer dollars to the UN and foreign and domestic charities run by friends of those in power, along with spending billions of dollars on infrastructure projects that don’t get started and whose funds can’t be accounted for. A great many of our politicians are owned by China and have allowed Chinese interests to buy up vast amounts of Canada’s real estate and farm land. Our PM Trudeau has separated from his wife, but failed to legally declare this so tax payers continue to fund a separate residence and the lavish lifestyle of his wife and children so he doesn’t have to pay alimony or child support himself. When questioned about their decisions, government representatives repeat scripted answers and fail to answer the question, or they call you racist. Hate of fellow Canadians is not the problem.

Absolutely 100% correct. I’ve witnessed it all happen from the front row of the theatre (I live in “the town that fun forgot”) and I still can’t rationalize how it has actually come to this. But it has, and I weep.

Thanks for the Trudeau dirt. I live about a mile and a half south of the border, but hadn’t heard any detail about your PM. I mean, beyond his being a twit who inherited his political position.

Bottom up? You mean like voting for representation, or direct voting? How are any decisions made?
How about against centrally organized aggressors seeking conquest?
I’m sticking with the US Constitution, as badly flawed and ultimately corrupted as it is, it still is the best system of governance on Earth.

You and we all practice it every day of our lives. When was the last time you held up a walmart as opposed to voluntarily paying for things? It’s government that uses force against innocents.

In order to live somewhere you can apply NAP, you have to aggressively drive people who don’t subscribe to NAP away. VERY aggressively.

The Articles of Confederation was constructed to be the “laboratories of democracy”. Let people form groups of their own free will and see which ones bear the most fruit. Power must be diffused. Concentrated political power produces evil by its very nature. Read Hayek.

i have read hayek. and friedman. and smith. and a few others. and they are great and recommended. but they won’t save us. ancap is a white utopia. it doesn’t work for chinks or niggers or wetbacks because their genetics and therefore culture are not designed for it. we can argue about it’s application for our people if we ever rid ourselves of the ((())), the race-traitors, and the 200+ million foreigners in the US alone.

until then, disinterested individualism will lead only death. instead of the road to serfdom read my struggle.

I still vote in county and town elections, and occasionally in the state. National elections are a joke. Our last mayor won by nine votes, so I don’t think it was rigged.

I was speaking of national elections. They attract psychopaths and sociopaths. Local elections attract local civic minded people who have to live with their decisions.

vote for people that set my personal property taxes : Lick the hand that holds your leash.
lesser of two evils works at the local level just as well as the national.
but, pick an issue (property taxes) and go give an affirmative endorsement to the “choice” presented TO you that comes closER to what you actually want (note: what you want is NOT an end to paying to brainwash other people’s children so that the most brainwashed of them can get your vote 20 years from now)
Vote all you want. You cannot vote yourself freedom, and likely don’t really want to.

CC, nobody blames you for your stance on voting. We all pretty much feel the same way. Voting is grasping at straws – we know. But until the shooting starts it is about all we have. I felt unclean when I voted the Republican ticket when Obama was running. I knew both the candidates the GOP put up were despicable. I am glad I voted, though. At least it showed that the whole country was not taken in by The One. If Joe Biden is elected we are in for hell. Do what you think is right.

Sage,
As long as we the people keep the mindset of defeat and remain vain enough to keep thinking we have all the power to fix major problems except when the going gets tough because eveything looks hopeless, then the law of entropy will continue and prevail.

If people tried something different that’s actually worked, yeah it’s called repentance and turning to HIM who has the power to fix problems, then problems would disappear as though they had fixed themselves. But I guess it’s easier to be a bunch of Debbie Downers than to try and turn ourselves around which can turn our nation around.

That’s the common thread seen through scripture. People fell and back slid and what happened? HE turned his back and chaos followed. We have a game changer at our finger tip. As long as we the people continue to forget HIM, we’ll all suffer for being too stupid.. just like what happened to them of ancient times.

I think GOD hates quitters, personally.
