Mail In Ballots are Antiquated – Vote On Line

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

It would be so simple to write an APP. This took me less than 30 minutes. You tie this to a database and off you go. You have a voting system that there can be no fraud. The SS# is checked against an active filing – so no dead people vote as they do in Chicago indefinitely. You can easily search each vote to ensure they voted only once and you can have a winner within 15 minutes of the vote closing.

You can make this APP to work on smartphones with no problem. Anyone who does not have a phone or a computer can go to a polling place and make an appointment to ensure your social distancing no different from going food shopping.

The Post Office is a joke. They lose many things and their explanation was COVID. Throwing $3.5 billion into the Post Office is pointless. End the COVID restrictions, end social distancing, and allow people to transport mail and products. That will not cost $3.5 billion. It will be ZERO. Restore the norm!

Agree. I think we should go back to paper ballots. People used to be able to watch the vote count to make sure there was no cheating. Can’t do that without paper ballots.

My goodness, fraud was everywhere. Not to mention dumbasses circling multiple candidates and dangling chads. You have to go to the crux of the issue and that is the morality of the government, hence the morality of the citizenry. A moral society would hang a person for fraud, embezzlement, and counterfeiting. The United States has moved past the point of encouraging it to actively rewarding it. Paper ballots and IDs don’t fix a society of dopes and moochers.

To suggest for one micro second that voting on line is a secure method of casting a ballot is not only naive but very possibly delusional. There is more corruption to be experienced in online voting than any other method IMO. ABSOLUTELY “NO” to online voting.

I guess all that stock trading that happens each day doesn’t work? I think for the most part the Social security web site is somewhat secure, otherwise, millions would be screwed. I can vaguely remember all those times over the years where they found paper ballots in car trunks or dumpsters or some poll workers’ apartment. Paper ballots have serious issues also.

► “You can easily search each vote to ensure they voted only once…” So that “secret ballot” states guarantee you is obsolete, too?

► “You tie this to a database…” And how do you protect it from employees? A brief report, from the National Institute of Standards and Technology:
1.26.17. NIST.
⊠ It took the average entity ►607 days◄ to discover breaches caused by ►insider wrongdoing◄.
⊠ There were 450 total breach incidents in 2016.
⊠ ►Insiders◄ caused 43 percent of the data breach incidents.
⊠ Hacking and ransomware were responsible for 26.8 percent of the breaches.
⊠ Breach incidents affected 47 states.

agreed, there will always be different DB requirements due to integration with existing infrastructure, as no one wants to spend money for a stand alone system used every 2-4 years.

therefore there will be rampant errors attempting to work across different vendor tech, and massive amounts of sharing of source code by sub contractors, basically ensuring the entire process is rigged or open to attack at any point in the process.

Here’s a counter thought. Why are 536 (congress and president) people allowed to control the lives of 322,000,000 to begin with? Get rid of government power over the lives of people and voting becomes far less of a concern. There is simply NO WAY we can continue this farce. There are people in my town suggesting that a ballot dropped off in a box at City Hall might not be secure because our mayor didn’t bow down and heap worshipful praise on the Only Black Lives Matter folks. But somehow the ballot of a white person would be secure if dropped off in the black section of the county. END IT ALL!!!! I should NEVER have to worry about my life, my freedoms, my liberties, etc. simply because of the result of an election…and it is exactly what it has now come down to (and has been for at least 2 decades).

Yeah, the thing about anybody bitching that online voting is dangerous — you’re too stupid to vote. You know why? Because you are already using and trusting electronic systems that are paying you, paying your bills, running your medical care, shipping you any number of things from guns to ammo to candy bars and sand bags, systems that are allowing you to read this website and comment and send each other secure emails — you already implicitly “trust” these systems, and if you really think paper ballots are somehow “safer” than online, you are genuinely ignorant (at the very least) about the reality of things around you.

P.S. I don’t vote, because voting is bullshit, you’re a pawn in a game and whichever way you vote, doesn’t matter, because if you think voting matters then they’ve already gelded you. But I serve my fellow human beings differently.

I think it would be easier to use test-answer cards like they use in college and high school in which the circles are colored in and then they’re scanned. As long as people could watch the vote counts and make sure no changing is being done, and if someone is caught, they actually get arrested. But asking for vote cheaters to be arrested is a pipe dream.

And there is absolutely no way that anyone could ever hack the app.

Voting is supposed to be by secret ballot. By identifying yourself and tying it to your vote, how long before the retributions begin once the person you did not vote for win?

You could separate the voter registration information used for verification (login) from the actual ballot data, therefore making the ballot data (your vote) anonymous.

You all miss the point entirely. If we’re talking about the current shitty system and merely “upgrading” it, then YES, “online voting” in layman’s terms is far more secure, depending on the encryption scheme, physical security, etc. processes put in place. What we have now is a goddamn joke. It has built-in fraud. It is so reasonably feasible to lock down the voting system that the Democrats knew they couldn’t thwart the NSA this time around and had to push for mass mail-in voting.

I would scrap the entire thing and start over. Only HoH votes, bills of credit outside physical invasion shall not be emitted, all amendments to bills must be directly related to said bill, term limits, VPOTUS and POTUS are separately elected. Just for starters.

Then who gives a shit HOW you vote. I really think we’re doomed because people are more focused on how NOT to do things than they are presenting actual SOLUTIONS, and actually hashing it out using the scientific method.

That’s not what happens and it will never happen until a collapse, assuming there’s anything worth voting for at that point. And no, not good enough. Showing an ID will merely ensure less stupid people being able to vote for their crooks of choice. It’s another Dutch boy and a leaky dam.

I want solutions, not band-aids. It may be good as one tool in the toolbox. Far more would need to be done to make it effective because the problem isn’t with the ID. It’s with the entire system and the citizens’ gross mismanagement of the system.

Not HoH, but taxpaying American citizens over 18. Pay stub, W-2 or tax return AND government issued photo ID required. Why should those living on the largess of the taxpayer get to vote on those who spend our taxes.

HoH and nothing less. Can’t alienate any group completely. If we could, then I’d say the matriarchy has failed yet another society – the West, collectively – and we should ban women from voting.

That’s not realistic. It’s also not realistic to discriminate against ALL 18 year olds. But the only way to mitigate “no skin in the game” without alienation en masse is HoH. Forget tax returns. Direct taxation doesn’t even make sense in a digital world where central banks conjure up bits and bytes at will.

Any idea how many poor single mothers on welfare are heads of household?

What all-encompassing welfare? A government that can’t issue debt, that’s term limited at all levels and branches, and that is so limited that it can’t get involved in regulatory overreach won’t be able to afford welfare. Even still, there are far more stupid 18 year olds than there are single welfare mothers.

BTW: How many of those single mothers on welfare are going to make it through what’s coming in the next couple of years? They’re walking casualties as are many/most Americans. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. But that tunnel is long as shit.

People can register to vote in AZ on the DMV website. I don’t see why this couldn’t be changed so folks could vote online with their SS number. (on another site) There could be a program where your number is checked to make sure it isn’t used twice. I early vote by mail and hope my vote gets counted by someone on the other end.
