I’m so goddamned sick and tired of bullshit … even if my calling it out means I will get massive thumbs down, shunned, loss of friends or even banned. Fuck it if y’all can’t handle the truth.
So, here it goes. I will be brief, but brutal.
The “Just Comply” thread has a picture of a stadium filled Nazi Germans giving the Heil Hitler salute. The purpose of the post was not to make a commentary about Germans and Nazis per se, but rather that any large group of people can be brainwashed. In this case, about COVID.
Of course, a significant portion of the commentary DID focus on Germany, Hitler, and NAZIs. Many here would have been disappointed had it not. Some of the comments were actually good.
But, then came two of the most fucking ignorant and goddamned clueless pictures and associated commentary that may have ever been posted here on TBP.
The comment —> “These people look pretty damn happy to me.”

The comment —> “Does this look like compliance, or recognition of Greatness?”
I am so goddamned sick and tired of people whose knowledge of WWII, and specifically Hitler, comes from reading books or trolling the internet, and then they purport themselves to be some kind of expert — and even more ridicules that they have knowledge hidden from the masses. Trust me, they say, everything you think you know is propaganda, only I have the truth.
My father, who died two years ago, would have been 95 last week. My mom is still alive. Both lived under Hitler. Dad was even (forcibly) drafted into the German Wehrmacht.
I printed out the two pictures and the commentary. I didn’t add any of my own comments, or any background as to where the pics came from, or who made the comment. I simply showed them to her, and asked her what she thinks. She narrowed her eyes, looked at me with some degree of horror, and this is what my Austrian mother said;
“What an asshole! What kind of idiot would say such a thing!”
And that was the end of that. But, she was right. Here are the facts.
1)– First of all, WHEN were those two pictures taken?? Before the war, during the war, or after the war? It makes a huge difference.

2)— My mom hated Hitler BEFORE the war. I can promise you this, my dad absolutely hated Hitler BEFORE the war.
There were a lot of people who hated Hitler before the war started. Both my parents lived in small German-populated villages. This is what they told me … that like patriotic Americans today, they just wanted to be left alone.
I don’t give a flying fuck how many pictures of filled stadiums y’all can find. Maybe it was a lot of Germans, maybe not. But, how in the fuck do I really know? I wasn’t there. I can’t go by the anecdotal evidence of my parents. But, same holds true for you. You weren’t there. How do you really know most of the German population loved Hitler? You don’t! Ahhhh, but you have books and shit … and so you can spread your fucking fantasy that the entire nation loved Hitler.
Yeah, well my mom didn’t like Hitler , neither did my, neither did my uncles or grandparents …. so fuck you and the horse you rode in on!!
3)– If all the people loved Hitler, why were there a minimum of 9 attempts on his life, and as many as 42 attempts? (Here.)
4)– You think this dead German loved Hitler?
NOBODY Loved Hitler AFTER the war.

Talk about serendipity … my mom and I just watched this 2017 movie this past Sunday. Really. It’s titled “A Hidden Life“. Filmed in Austria it’s an absolutely stunning visual masterpiece. (The production designer, Sebastian Krawinkel, also worked on “V for Vendetta“.)
It’s a true story about Franz Jägerstätter, an Austrian farmer and devout Catholic who refused to fight in World War II for the Nazi regime, and paid the highest price (with his life) for his conscientious objection.
There a fantastic write-up about this wonderful movie (here). . It truly is worth reading.

Where do I F’ng start? Being still somewhat a newbie in relative terms on this site but yet a minor contributor I feel the need to make comment from my perspective. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this site since discovering it about a year back. Admin posts some great articles from other sources and there are several talented writers present amongst us that produce, IMHO, excellent essays from varied perspectives of where our nation and world stand at this point in time. The absolute F’ng shit show that this comment section has devolved into, on this particular post, is in my mind an absolute microcosm of where we stand in our nation at this very moment. Belief is always far stronger than fact, and absolute fact is always shifted by perspective based on the one reporting said facts. Lest one has clear audio and video from numeous angles of an event as it happens true fact will never truly be known. Even then reporter/viewer bias will have its’ effect. There’s good and evil in everyone of us and in the world as a whole. Always has been, always will be, until the only one who has trod this planet without sin returns. Born in a barn and killed on a cross. I thought the three ring feces festival in the US Senate next couple of weeks was going to be acromonious. A. Lincoln, repeating the words of the Lord, said it best… A house divided against itself cannot stand. I’m off to hunt Speed Goats in Wyoming, try not to kill each other and hopefully this site is still here when I get back.
It would help reduce the divided houses if some folks would get honest with themselves about the constant repetition through history of communities and nations being divided and the consistent presence of a certain quite ancient belief system and the people who continue to carry it forward through history.

Evil exists in ALL people as does good. Some are more evil than others and some more good, both as groups and as individuals. By lumping groups together and saying as a rule they’re all good or all evil is how we become divided and is why we’re where we are right now.

You are literally being one of the people in that video. Right now. Not all people’s effect on those around them are equally distributed. Otherwise you could just go anywhere in the world and expect more or less the same thing… but you know damn well you won’t.
The same holds true when you mix people of different histories, genetics, and belief systems… they are NOT all equally split in the consequences of these mixtures. Some bring building up, others bring tearing down.
