The Supply Chain Is Broken And Food Shortages Are Here

Authored by Robert Wheeler via The Organic Prepper,

If you are a reader of this site, you might be more interested in the food supply chain than most, at least when things are good. So, if you have been paying attention recently, you might find that there have been some severe disturbances in that supply chain.

Several months ago, the immediate disruptions began at the beginning of the COVID-19 hysteria, when factories, distribution centers, and even farms shut down under the pretext of “flattening the curve.”

As a result, Americans found necessities were missing on the shelves for the first time in years. Items like hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes were, of course, out of stock.

Soon other items became noticeably missing as well.

People began to notice meat, and even canned vegetables and rice were soon missing from the shelves. Most of this was simply the result of mass panic buying, although “preppers” were blamed for “hoarding.” Therefore, people who had not been prepping all along and were suddenly caught with their pants down.

But that’s not the whole story.

Manufacturing and packaging facilities and slaughterhouses shut down due to intrusive totalitarian government reactions to an alleged pandemic. Combined with panic buying, those facilities’ ability to replace what was bought up was drastically reduced. As a result, consumers were forced to wait weeks before buying what they needed (or wanted) again. Even then, they had to show up in the morning.

We are still experiencing those shortages, though better hidden. As anyone who shops regularly can tell you, you can find what you need, but you may have to go to three stores to get it, where one would have done in the past. In this article, you’ll find some advice about dealing with the limited varieties of inventory that people are currently noticing at stores.

War launched on the economy by state governments put millions of Americans out of work.

Now, when most rational people would be happy to have a job at all amid such high unemployment, they were prepared to stop the machine’s wheels from working.

Workers suddenly started to organize, strike, and walk off the job conveniently when the food supply was already broken. Of course, these workers had not organized or initiated a strike at any time before when working conditions were bleak, and wages were low.

While extraordinary times beget extraordinary reactions, the timing of the newfound sense of workers’ resolve cannot go unnoticed.

At the same time, we witnessed farms dumping thousands of gallons of milk down the drain, meat producers slaughtering animals and burying them, and farmers destroying crops all over the country and the world.

The reason for this is two-fold.

First, many major producers would not want a glut of their product on the market and see their prices dropdown.

Second, with the totalitarian measures forcing the shut down of restaurants across the country, many farms and producers lost a massive part of their market, thus destroying it.

A government genuinely concerned with its people’s health would have bought that produce and either distributed it or freeze-dried and stored it for the coming apocalypse.

Indeed, the Trump administration attempted this with some very minor success and high cost. Food banks at least benefited. But the damage to the food supply was already done.

And then came the winds.

As time moved forward, we saw devastating straight-line winds blow across places like Iowa, destroying massive amounts of crops and farming infrastructure, effects rarely advertised on mainstream media outlets.

Following those winds, we saw massive wildfires along the West Coast’s entirety from Washington to California and as far east as Colorado, South Dakota, and Texas.

One need only take a look at the map at fires seemingly heading east, burning up prairies and farmland all along the way to see that the food chain will experience yet even more hiccups once the smoke has cleared.

But while leftists claim the fires are the natural result of “climate change” and conservatives blame lack of adequate forest management (which has some merit), both completely ignore the fact that close to ten people were arrested for setting these fires.

Repeatedly, arsonists are being arrested for starting blazes though the motive is unclear. Those of us who have studied history, however, can speculate with some certainty.

But these problems are not unique to the United States.

Countries all over the world are experiencing supply chain problems. Australia, for instance, is about to run out of its domestic rice supply by December entirely.

Now, here we are, with winter fast approaching and the food supply decimated. The world’s population is walking around masked and terrified of getting within six feet of another human, and the cities all across America are on fire with violent riots.

Communists and the inevitable response are clashing in the streets and threatening to turn in to a possible American Civil War 2.0. What role will hunger play in this scenario?

At the moment, we can’t say for sure.

But what we can say with certainty is that this will be a very long, very trying winter.

Food shortages are coming, and they aren’t too far away.

You do not have much time left before the items you can grab now are gone and gone for good. Here are some tips for shopping when there aren’t many supplies left on the shelves, and here’s a list of things that are usually imported from China that we haven’t been receiving in the same quantities (if at all) since the crisis began.

Many of the readers of this website will be prepared, no doubt, but others won’t. Not only do we advise you to prepare – but we also advise you to be ready for the unprepared.

Haha. I think if I had 5 wives, I’d shoot myself. Maybe 5 dogs and no wives? We’ve managed to stay together through thick and thin for 17 years plus she’s 6 years younger than I am. There’s benefits to having a younger wife. I think.

I will start my comment by saying that food/clothing/tools/fuel ect. reasonably priced right now, have even seen some pistol ammo at more reasonable then recent pricing.

My point,go shopping(yet again)!

That said, like Glock says at least in N.H. and when I work gigs in Mass. at moment super market shelves seem pretty full/other items in different stores in regards to clothes/boots,again available but this as we learned with the faux virus can change quickly/keep stocking up on what you will use regardless of hard times or not, best to all of us!

I don’t care what I see today…but what I expect tomorrow.

The last little video I posted is well worth the watch, I don’t think the young videographer gets enough credit for his gathering of news reports/compilation of current events, mergers, etc…I would welcome anyone to offer info to counter what he reports….

In that video, a clip of Trump announcing his plans for a biometric identification system he announced in Phoenix, a clip I have posted on here numerous times.

ordo ab chao,

I have a private blog I send out to family and friends on spiritual, cultural, political, and economic issues. Started it in 2015 when I retired. My attempt to go around the propaganda directly to people I know and care about.

It has grown to 125 individuals, many of whom I don’t know, who have been added by request through family and friends as they had forwarded some posts. I’m not on social media – too many enemies/threats from my career.

I send out a lot of posts and comments from TBP.

Most of them I post to are Trump supporters, as was I in 2016…I was giddy with relief when we avoided the Hillary Death Star direct hit.

As time went on and I poured over the internet, books, etc.

Partial Book List:
• “Conspirator’s Hierarchy: Committee of 300” by Dr. John Coleman
• “One World Order” by Dr. John Coleman
• “Diplomacy by Deception” by Dr. John Coleman
• “The Killing of Uncle Sam” by Rodney Howard-Browne and Paul Williams
• “Operation Gladio” by Paul Williams
• “A history of Central Banking and the Enslavement of Mankind” by Stephen Mitford Goodsen
• “The Fruits of Graft” by Wayne Jett
• “The Creature from Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin

I have come to believe the Zionists (who support Trump) are in a Civil War with the Bolsheviks, Maoists, Anarchists, and Socialists/Progressives/Liberals…while the Bankster Luciferian Globalists (not all Jews are Luciferians but all Luciferians are the enemy) sit at the top of Mount Doom feeding both sides lines, money, and gleeful support.

The last vid was POWERFUL and SCARY…I will be sending it out to 125 people with some comments!

The only WILD CARD I see is the Triune God, and I suspect He will throw down a few royal straight flushes…when He is good and ready.

I just deleted a whole dissertation calling bullshit on major parts of this article, which was obviously not written by a farmer, but then I noticed it was talking “major producers”. I am a small producer in South Carolina. Shitty year for us but mainly because we are a small family farm (128 acres) and were doing farm to restaurant and farmers markets and our markets simply vaporized without warning in the spring. Our thin profit margin got crushed to negative flow.

But after reading it again, I am thankful that we have zero debt, our farm has been free and clear for three generations, our larders and root cellar are full, we have a good deep well, the winter crops in the kitchen garden are largely planeted out, the fields are cut, we didn’t have a hurricane this year (yet), we have meat on the hoof (and foot), plenty of hay put up, and we have gotten in a LOT of target practice since April.

The small businesses around here (French Santee rural area) seem to be fully stocked. As is the local Piggly Wiggly. The only shortage is that it has been damned hard to buy 9mm and .223 rounds in any quantity since May. But hey, we still have plenty..

I hope so too, Glock. In a civil American society of law and order, we will survive and make do even if the money is no good. But if America falls, and Carolina ever turns into a Rhodesia or a South Africa, this place is a defensive tactical dead-end. We have things on small farms that a mob would come for. Tools, food, equipment, etc. No way I could prevent being outflanked and overrun, or burned out, even by a horde of rank amateurs.

That’s why I say if I have to fight keep America, and we will fight, it will be to the death.

We’re actually in the process of diversification for next year. Our target market was produce to Charleston, a foodie town about an hour away. I never saw Covid-1984 coming. We were fortunate enough to be able to use a local wholesale food hub there this summer which helped some. No profit there though. Assuming we’re not re-fighting the Spanish Civil War in 2021, and the restaurants are all re-opened, and the local farmer’s markets re-open, and the Creek don’t rise, dum spiro spero!

Pete, best of luck in your future.I will admit unless no other choice but still have that choice would do me best not to be a farmer full time. That said,at this point in life beyond a few chickens for eggs and growing a few veggies tis my best as a farmer. This though is why I try and support locals who do this as a passion and livelihood.I do hope some time in future some bees and perhaps even a couple of goats.

My guess is times get tough might be local folks more then willing to help defend your farm,as,they get a benefit from it community wide.A lot of the local farmers in me area sell shares to jump start their season, either single person or family shares. As this keeps happening yearly assume it works for them.I do not do it due to traveling a lot for work and happier to pay a bit more as get just what I need when local.

I would say perhaps another reason to even if you go back to supplying eateries you also do a local sales is you are seen as a local lifeblood of community.

James,

You raise a good point as far as farmers (of all sizes – I am a one man super small operation) being protected by banding together with family, friends, and neighbors to form self-sufficient defensive TRIBES…because of their capability, that is valid and historical, that is human nature and history in hard times.

I have thought of that possibility in my ‘local world’ as I believe all Beginning of Sorrows – Tribulations, 4th Turnings, SHTF, and TEOTWAWKI cascading events will become super local – super fast.
