You may have heard of the New England Journal of Medicine? (Hint: It is not a tabloid)
What I especially like about this research paper is that it is an elegantly simple “cohort study”. Most of the random variables of age, fitness, diet, personal habits are almost completely factored out of influencing results.

I was trained as a chemist. A large part of my professional career was working in various parts of the filtration industry. I developed a line of mixed esters of cellulose membrane filters. Millipore type filters, that were used to sterilize flu vaccines for Merck Sharp and Dohme as well as other medical products companies. I developed respiratory protection products for Wilson Safety Products used in the mining industry. I worked for Baxter developing medical / IV filters. I have patents on three IV filters I invented. Baxter sold more than 5 million of one of those every year for most of a decade. I know a little bit about filters.
Surgical masks were not designed as filters and were not intended to be used as filters. Surgical masks were designed to be used by surgeons standing face down over an operating table holding a patient with an open wound. The surgeon wearing the mask would be able to talk to others in the room without discharging spittle droplets into the patient’s wound. Spittle droplets are large and can cause infection.
I witnessed a test of surgical masks. Small plaster particles were generated in a room. They were visible as a white dust in the air. A man was properly fitted with a surgical mask and spent a short time in the room. When he came out the mask was removed. A camera was focused on the man’s face. The entire area that had been covered by the mask was coated by the white dust. The camera showed that his nostrils and his mouth had been penetrated by the white dust. The dust particles were measured and found to be around 40 micrometers in diameter. The particles that penetrated the mask were the same diameter.
Covid-19 virus molecules are about 0.1 micrometers in diameter. That is 400 times smaller than the plaster particles that penetrated the mask.
Surgical masks will not prevent the wearer from inhaling or exhaling viruses or bacteria. They provide absolutely no protection for either the wearer or anyone nearby. They create a very dangerous false sense of security for everyone. They also force the wearer to rebreath carbon dioxide. Which will over time reduce the wearers blood oxygen level. That can become very dangerous especially for older people.
This farce is being promoted by sleazy politicians who believe that if they can convince people that they are protecting them or creating a safe environment for them by pushing this mask farce those people will re-elect them.
All politicians pushing this dangerous mask farce should be voted out of office as soon as possible.

Thanks for that. I am a biochemist and I have dug through the literature which never contradicted common sense intuition on the issue, but your write up is as convincing as one can make it.
When I bring this topic up, the maskaholics look down on anyone with disdain when you tell them their “face diaper”, as Eric Peters calls them, are not only useless but also harmful to their health. I’m not a degreed scientific professional but have 20+ yrs of experience with IAQ testing & remediation.

The same thinking dwells on me and my graduate work and degree is in Microbiology and Public Health. That, and even Dr. Fauci’s NIH found masks to be problematic back in 2008 because of bacterial pneumonia attributed to mask wearing. They actually ascribe most of the deaths from the “Spanish Flu” to mask wearing. Link:

Mind you…the mask itself is not a problem if it is clean, dry, and changed regularly. It is also required that it be donned with clean hands and removed with clean hands. (As one finds in hospital ORs, ERs, ICUs, and quarantine rooms.)
But, the typical wearer out in the world has neither the resources (endless clean masks) nor the knowledge of the process (safe application and removal) soooo…it is not going to make any difference in containing spread of a disease in the wild.
The constant moisture around the mask-covered area PLUS the enriched CO2 in the nasopharyngeal cavity are going to be a problem for people who wear a “dirty” mask continuously for long periods. I am guessing, but suspect more than an hour or two at a time is an issue.
That is enough time for the increase in CO2 to shift microbial populations from a safe balance to favoring disease-causing bacteria. An increase in internal and skin infections of both Staph and Strep is to be expected in these folks. Pre-teens and old farts engaging in long-term use are, IMHO, setting up for ‘Haemophilus influenzae’ infections – – the younger set for nasty middle ear infections, the older for deadly pneumonia.
Sadly, I can forecast with some accuracy that I will never know whether I was right or wrong.

All great points. I would add that the way people actually wear them is dirty and for prolonged periods. So they are touching their mask, then items on the shelf etc. The authorities know this. That is how corrupt they are.
Any and all respiratory disease incidence will necessarily increase with people using masks the way they are. There is already research on this and nobody would honestly expect a different conclusion.
If you woke up one morning and heard the news about an overnight vaporization of the District of Corruption and all its swamp creatures, would it really bother you?
No.
I would raise a toast to whoever was responsible for putting the swamp out of my misery.

The issue of efficacy is ridiculous. It’s all about “test/access” Herd compliance.
I just want to point out that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons also published a “Mask Facts” paper declaring mask to be useless against any viral agent.
Mask are NOT Useless….some people were born to wear masks…..
Okay I think we all know this… the mask has nothing to do with preventing the spread of COVID-19. It is all about conditioning the sheeple. It is in preparation for the vaccine. No mask no entry next no vaccine no entry….does everyone understand now???
