It gives me no pleasure to say that I no longer recommend that young people join the military, and I’m not alone. The non-Blue Falcon veteran community is in full revolt against the conscious decision to decline embraced by our current military leadership. After failing to win a war in the last 20 years – and don’t say Syria, because the second President * woke up in the Oval Office wondering how he got there, more of our troops were heading back into the hellscape for reasons no one has bothered to articulate – the military has decided to target an easier enemy, i.e., other Americans.
See, the problem with me and the other vets who are disgusted by the brass’s choice to focus on SJW priorities instead of, you know, successfully deterring or defeating America’s enemies, is that we actually listened to what we were taught when we were coming up. Most of us were trained by the heroes who put the shattered American military together after the Democrat war in Vietnam broke it. We learned about leadership, about putting mission first but taking care of people always, and about objectives and how to attain them.
None of that’s a thing anymore.
So, count us out from complicity with the degeneration of our proud institution into a giant gender studies struggle session. And that’s a big deal. Do you know where the military gets a huge chunk on its recruits? Legacies. These are young troops who want to be like their father or grandfather or big brother or neighbor or other role model. I was the third-generation commissioned officer in my family, on both sides. Guess what? Right now, if one of my kids goes in, it’s against my advice. And again, I am not alone. I hear this over and over and over from other vets. And it makes me furious.
Congratulations, Pentagon. This is all on you.
You put two divisions behind wire in D.C. to protect against phantom insurrections by guys who dress like Vikings. And then you can’t even feed the troops, or house them. Gosh, if only there was a great big five-sided building full of generals just a couple miles away to square that idiocy away.
Oh, wait, there is.
And now, though we have not won a war in two decades, our military has plenty of time to stop training and focus on purging the ranks of people who like the politicians the current administration opposes. I eagerly await the introduction to the new 69D MOS – political officer. A zampolit for every battalion – hell, why not every company?
And don’t patronize us with baloney about how this is just about rooting out all those secret “extremists” lurking in the ranks – that’s right up there with sending the new second louie down to the supply room to retrieve a box of grid squares. How about you stop trying to expel these mystery “extremists” and start firing the incompetents all around you?
Sadly, this trickle-down SJW foolishness is reaching what used to be the pointy end of the spear. Generals and colonels adopt it because if they don’t, they’ll get tossed out – if you invest three decades in the green machine, it must be awfully tempting to hold your tongue to nail down that retirement and then get the hell out ahead of the deluge. It’s the company grades who buy this pap who are most disconcerting.
One lieutenant – for you civilians, lieutenants are the wisest officers in the military, according to lieutenants – went on Twitter to inform me and some other people who were actually alive and in the military the last time America won a war that when we Neanderthals were serving, the military was awash in “white supremacy.” Could have fooled me. When I got off active duty the first time 30 years ago this May, I was stunned at how often race came up back in the civilian world. It almost never did when I was in the service, though in basic training it would have been nice for the awesome power of my pallor to keep Drill Sergeant Whittlesey from dropping me for countless sets of 20.
But hey, some 23-year-old assistant S2 who operates the coffeemaker doubtless has better insights into stuff happening before he was born that those of us who were actually there. The only positive thing about my interaction with that guy was my relief in knowing that I was no longer the dumbest lieutenant in the history of the United States military.
We had our imperfections and misadventures back in the day, sure, but if some idiot had done something bigoted to another solder, we would have slammed him. The only thing that mattered when a new soldier showed up was whether or not he was squared away. But not now. No, winning battles is hard, but internal snipe hunts are easy and fun! Why focus on external warfare when the career payoff for witch-hunting within the organization is so much bigger? Check out this new Navy pledge – us vets’ enlistment/commissioning oaths were apparently insufficient for today’s woke battlespace:
“I pledge to advocate for and acknowledge all lived experiences and intersectional identities of every Sailor in the Navy. I pledge to engage in ongoing self-reflection, education and knowledge sharing to better myself and my communities. I pledge to be an example in establishing healthy, inclusive and team-oriented environments. I pledge to constructively share all experiences and information gained from activities above to inform the development of Navy-wide reforms.”
The most disconcerting part of this is that it was apparently written on purpose. Is the next thing we’ll see some sort of mandatory woke Space Force interpretive dance?
No, I do not recommend anyone subject themselves to this sort of four-year camo sociology seminar in which they must “pledge to advocate for and acknowledge all lived experiences and intersectional identities of every Sailor in the Navy” or any other branch. My intersectional identity is “America,” and I am utterly uninterested in any other identity.
Maybe the brass should focus on killing America’s enemies, and maybe not running ships into other ships? Both those things would be totally awesome.
War is a serious business, even for guys like me who ran heavily armed carwashes. But this current tail-chasing is not serious. The military is hollowing out as people vote with their combat boots. Word from inside is that it can’t keep troops from ETSing – that is, leaving the service when their obligation ends. If our troops want their thoughts controlled and to be programed into little lefty conformobots, they can go off to college – the Dems want to give it away to slackers for free anyway, so who needs to ruck march and attend Bill Kristol’s latest war to get the G.I. Bill?
The military used to be a welcoming safe space for patriots. But no more. With this insane babbling about “internal enemies,” does anyone think that potential recruits do not understand that this slur is what the liberal elite that the military brass obeys calls people like them and their families? Why would you join an organization that sees you as an enemy?
I wish I could believe that the generals and admirals will en masse reject this sack race to failure, but it may be too late, at least until we get a real president determined to unscrew this cluster. It will be hard. The academies and war colleges are already full of the same kind of liberal hacks that civilian education is infested with. Michael Walsh’s hardcore new book Last Stands: Why Men Fight When All Is Lost should be required reading for every military leader, but some professor at the Army Command and General Staff College (I’m a graduate, sigh) reviewed it and found it – I’m not kidding – “problematic.” You know what’s really problematic? Turning the military into a cauldron of neurotic SJW obsessions while our foreign enemies circle our senile CINC like vultures.
We can laugh at the antics, but the terrible reality is that this crap is going to get a bunch of our young people killed. Let’s be very clear – when your priority is social justice nonsense instead of preparing to fight and win, you are opening up a lane for the enemy and the enemy is going to drive right through it.
But look on the bright side. When something horrible happens – maybe the Chinese will send a carrier to the bottom, for example – we can all take comfort in the fact that our sons and daughters, because it’s us patriots’ sons and daughters who usually fight and die in America’s wars, perished because our leadership failed to prepare, but at least they died fully aware of trans intersectionality.

The military has been inclusive and the promoter of equality for quite some time on a level few will ever understand until you place your life in the hands of a brother-in-arms who is watching your back. No machine is perfect and the military is full of stupidity just like any other organization, but the common purpose of being a unit set upon a mission purges a lot of stupid when things get real.
This current move is about eliminating the backbone of the military spirit and letting it devolve into a mass of political correctness. The military was a pathway for many Americans, including myself, to move themselves out of poverty and launch a purpose driven life. A top notch military is full of warriors who run into the fray and who aren’t stopping to think about how the other side doesn’t seem to include enough gays or transsexuals & how does that make them “feel”. This is moronic because it closes the door on giving anyone struggling a way out while doing something real… these potential warriors aren’t going to be politically correct and, now, may never be given a chance to rise in the ranks.

One of the worst things I’ve seen in the past few years is how absolutely woke the medical establishment has become. In Harvard, the “founders auditorium” removed all the paintings of white men to make med students of color feel more comfortable. Maybe it’s more to train them to be uncomfortable treating white men. Instead of the Hippocratic oath, first do no harm, we get doctors forcing vaccines on people no matter what. I even saw a pregnant doctor advocate the COVID19 vaccine to her pregnant patients even though there are ZERO STUDIES on COVID19 vaccine in pregnant women and in numerous cases pregnancy is an absolute contraindication for many treatments and vaccines. Instead of evidence based medicine, it is confirmation bias based medicine.
The George Floyd protests made me lose all respect for these health care providers. After telling us that taking your own kids to the park or having a backyard barbecue or going out to eat or getting a haircut will kill them and kill grandma, they go balls to the wall for BLM, decrying systemic racism in STEM. and tell us the George Floyd protests won’t spread COVID19 and must be allowed to handle “a more deadly pandemic of racism and white supremacy.” I saw doctors and other health care workers take a knee for BLM at a protest outside the hospital. There used to be journal club to discuss treatment research, now replaced with an “anti-racism book club” where med students and doctors get to read such cutting edge research as “white fragility” and “white privilege”. Each day there are internal memos about “being an ally of LGTBQ people and fighting racism in your daily practice,” and about encouraging mask use everywhere and fighting “vaccine hesitancy”.
Following that logic, they should take out all of the lightbulbs and wiring.

I just saw a commercial on youtube (watching a video on self-knowledge and self-realization, ironically) for the US Army. It featured a very fat black woman in the field in full kit hold some kind of computer and then three equally fat black soldiers conferring with her smiling at it like it was a box of donuts. When I say fat, I don’t mean slightly overweight, I mean no one had a chin, just a roll from the tip of the chin right into the shirt and huge guts on all of them. The entire pitch of the commercial was all the free stuff you would get; college, bonuses, job training, etc. Not a single word about duty, honor, loyalty, esprit de corps- just gibmedats

Army standards have changed. Females in the military can now be considered “healthy” even when they have upwards of 30% or more body fat to weight levels. Women have bee allowed into Ranger training and combat officer job specialties. The Army recently made PC history for the first integrated basic training unit where the sexes trained together. The physical fitness test that used to consist of pushups, sit ups, and timed two mile run has changed because the women could never compete on an equal basis where upper body strength matters.
The Army, and especially the Air Force, has become a vehicle for Equal Opportunity experiments where minorities are given outsized advantages for power and influence. The same crap has ruined fire and police departments from Minnesota to Broward County.
Men and women were training ( basic ) in the 70’s. It was and still is called OSUT. Of course women got special treatment, especially those who put out which was basically all of them…even the one who gave the DI gonorrhea. She was made platoon leader which turned her into an even more crazy bitch than she already was. The entire platoon laughed when the little Chinese recruit roundhoused her in the face. We never saw the little fella’ again. but for awhile, he was our hero.
In boot camp my my platoon leader was a dorky little 18year old who came in as a PFC due to some college credits. His mask seal leaked in the gas chamber and he was choking and puked on the DI’s boots.

I shovel everything by hand. The last ten days really sucked. 120 foot two lane driveway, animal shelters and laneways etc. It keeps me going. My folks turn 89 and 88 this year.

Today, in every university and college, every applicant for a faculty position must sign an affidavit attesting to his support for affirmative action and and diversity. He also must present evidence that he engaged in pro-affirmative action and pro-diversity activities in the past. Often he must provide affidavits from people also attesting to his commitments.
No one can be considered for employment who does not meet this requirement.
Some colleges of education require affirmative action/diversity participation by their students, and will not grant a degree if the student resists. The student is likely to be expelled.
This stuff has spread to the sciences, mathematics, and engineering. One result is the collapse of the so-called (by FIU) Diversity Bridge at Florida International University.

I figure joining the military is an excellent way for young people to see the way the Gov. does things. that was my experience anyway. The bloated waste of money and getting things done slowly and at a higher cost. I actually witnessed the one thousand dollar hammer thing. I still think joining up in a support role is a good idea for many. It gives young people a life experience they don’t get working at McDonald’s.

The reason the military is purging patriots is because the political class sees patriots as the enemy, and intend to use the military to fight that enemy. This is a deliberate and active preparation for civil war between the US Government and the American people. It has often been asked, “will the soldiers fire on their fellow citizens?” This purge will give the political class confidence that the soldiers will fire.

Yep, that’s it in a nutshell. The first thing the communists always do when seizing power is consolidate control over the enforcement arms of the state, i.e., the armed forces, law-enforcement and security services.
This “sixty day stand-down” to fight “extremism” in the ranks is only the start. They want only ideologically-reliable people in the ranks and are actively purging the ones who aren’t. This began under Obama and has accelerated since Biden and company came into power.
Next up, expect the appointment of political officers or commissars, similar to those used by past communist regimes. These fanatics will be given vast police powers, and orders to arrest anyone who does not comply with the party’s orders and dogma.
At this juncture, it would not be surprisingly to learn that Beijing is now de facto in control of our government. Biden and Co. are owned by the Chinese, right down to their shorts.

I saw the navy change 30 years ago. Worked for a CWO (sub nuc) in the outside machine shop on a tender. When subs came along side they would request work to be done by us. This division officer would staple a large sanitary napkin to the work request (OPNAV 4790-2K) if he thought the submarine crew could accomplish it themselves and send it back to the sub’s ship superintendent. He got bad evaluations and was encouraged to retire.

Working in the Defense industry we see a lot of retired military brass come in as corporate Directors and Vice Presidents. If the individuals we are seeing are examples of what they call leadership then we are in deep deep trouble and it’s been that way for a while. Another weird thing I’ve noticed on trips to the range with some of them is that none of them can shoot or seem to know anything about weapons or think it’s important. I appreciate that actual shooting is an Enlisted role but how do you put that uniform on when you can’t handle basic marksmanship? How can you think about defending a country when you can’t defend yourself? I realize I’ve never been in the military but I just wonder.
