You know what’s weird about Llpoh’s “friend/foe” thread? There are almost 400 comments …. AND ONLY ONE BIBLE VERSE, and it had nothing to do with the topic. So, effectively, zero Bible verses. What about Jesus? Again, nothing except for “overthecliff” who said “Most of all trust Jesus.” What the ^$*&%???
Where are all you Bible Thumpers (see NOTE below) … that small group of you who cram your believe-or-go-to-hell crap on TBP day after day, post after post? It’s not as if there aren’t thousands of verses in the Bible about your DUTY to support the poor, the aged and the infirm. Like this one ..
“Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, BUT DID NOT AID THE POOR AND NEEDY.” —- Ezekiel 16:40
You hypocrites! You will suffer the fate of Sodom, says God! You are quick to babble endless gobbledygook as long as it doesn’t cost you anything except the hot air coming from your mouth. But, when it comes to doing the work of God you scatter like cockroaches at the first sign of light. Damn you all to perdition for making a mockery of God’s will.
Do not dare to criticize me ya butthurt snowflakes. For the Bible also says in 1 Timothy 5:1 — “Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father.” Do not continue to heap coals of fire upon your heads by your continuous rebuke of me — for I am now officially an “older man” about to start collecting his rightfully owed Social Security.
You sumsabitches really need to repent. Here is some music to help you see the Truth.
[NOTE: I am talking about Bible Thumpers, not the many normal Christians here on this site. A “normal” Christian is one who LIVES a Christian life, rather than just talk about it non-stop. Posting a verse here and there or talking about what God means to you or will do for America (or, TO America) is within the bounds of normal. Thumpers, otoh, are IN-YOUR-FACE … and you know who I mean.]
2 Thessalonians 3:10
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
Feeding the poor is one thing, feeding the lazy is most unchristian
Nevermind…
Bible thumpers be like…
That was funny, but if Christians donate to assuage their guilt, most secular people do even less – they just vote for higher taxes on other people. It’s statistically true that conservative religious people donate a higher share of their income than the irreligious, although admittedly a big share usually goes to their church. Libs (who are generally not religious) tend to donate to places like Planned Parenthood, but that might just be because they’re big racists.
I posted the video solely as a response to Stucky’s post. I’m not going to get into nitpicking all the individual groups and what motivates them to donate (or not) to charity.
Thanks for the announcement.
I agree, fuck the ‘poor.’ They’re among the absolutely most greedy, entitled, lousy decision making, ignorant, Dunning-Kruger Syndrome sufferers in Amerika. By any standard, they’re among the richest people on the planet. :0
And most importantly, to me, I couldn’t go against my Christian beliefs, my absolute trust in God. That is the final strongest reason that over-rides all else.
I didn’t think I would need scripture to validate that portion of my comment.
Sorry, I’ll try to do better next time.
Did the Romans tax at 50%?
^This. It’s not 30 AD. There is a massive governmental social safety network. Even aside from that, though, official charities start to seem like one giant grift. You make a donation once and they seem to spend all of that money and then some mailing you solicitations for decades. Even giving cash to roadside beggars – does it help them or hurt them? I don’t know.
Stucky descriptor:
The bible-thumpers are just folks that have been “over-saved”.
They only appeal to others in the same situation.
Most of the rest of us just ignore them.
Well, that link thing certainly didn’t work the way I expected.
Click on the blue text for the Stucky descriptor.
I’m probably too old, too…
The Bible talks about voluntary giving, not having money forced from you to pay for everything for others.
And we’re taxed for things that aren’t even charity, such as transgender studies.
I read an article a few years ago that said there are more poor people now than before the welfare programs were started.
Transgenders are .6% of the population. It’s the tip of the tail wagging the dog. Pass it on.
That is the stupidest thing I have ever read. What a fucking idiot. There are WAY more than 400 comments on that thread. Blow me!
😂😂😂😂
Why don’t you two get a room?
It’s a risky thing sticking my nose in like that. I remember way back when I was a young E-3 pup, just on the ship. There were a couple of older (than me, anyway) E-5s in the shop. One of ’em had been on a river boat up the Mekong, and the other had been a tech with one of the radar sites that saw a lot of action. So they were a bit salty.
So, they get to wrasslin’ around in the shop, and like a big dumb-ass puppy who didn’t know better, I thought it was fun and games and started to get involved. About a half-second later, Fritz had me in a seriously painful arm lock and let me know in no uncertain terms that they didn’t need my bullshit, and all things being equal I might want to think about staying the fuck out of their business.
I not only heard what he was saying, but I applied it immediately. We got along pretty good after that.
Bravo!! But my horse-fucking article still ranks #1, imho, as the stupidest thread of all time.
Hey, I thought I begged you stay away from this thread at all costs.
Fuck you fuckin’ downvotester motherfuckers.
Why do the Bible verses trigger you Stuck? Though some post verses often I don’t think they shove their beliefs down throats.
That’s a damned good question.
It had to do with being married for 20 YEARS to a hard-core Bible Thumper. There wasn’t a single day — REALLY — when she didn’t throw out some Bible verse.
She would do it at family, friends, and total strangers. For example, she had this teeny small red booklet, about two inches by two inches, about 10 pages of Bible verses … and she would hand them out to cashiers, gas station attendants, or anyone else the Lord “led” her to do so. She’d leave those “Chick” how-to-get-saved pamphlets on windshields. She would figure out how to inject “a word from the Lord” into any conversation, no matter what it was about.
Get the picture? I could type moar for about 3 or 4 hours and I still wouldn’t be done.
I know what you or some might be thinking — I need psychological counseling. But, Ms Freud was a psychologist. It didn’t help ….
That explains everything.
You were just caught in the ceasefire.
Duck and cover.
Crossfire that is
Hey stuck you off your meds or drinking before noon again.
Charity is when someone willingly gives not when the gooberment willingly takes and gives others money or assistance.
If God commands his people to love Him (he does) … and if God commands his people to love each other (he does), then charity is not exactly optional. From the first book of the Bible to the last book, generosity to the poor is not a mere suggestion, it is something God demands.
“Therefore I COMMAND you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’”
I/we talk about the government stealing from us. The Good Book also says something about stealing — those who hoard their wealth instead of sharing what they have with those in need are considered thieves. And it will not go well for them when their works are judged.
Bottom line; charity is not an optional, but an essential component of faith.
============== =
All that being said I agree with you and Vixen, there isn’t a single instance I can think of in the Bible where one person or group has the right to force or coerce anyone into giving. In fact, if anything, it is strongly condemned.
Motivation is absolutely key regarding charity. Jesus strongly condemns the rich dude who gives out of his plenty, and praises the widow who gives out of her poverty. Likewise, those who give-for-show are considered worse than demons.
LOVE is the only proper motivation for charity … and love can never be coerced. So, fuck the government for stealing from us to (supposedly) give to the poor!!!
I know you’re not my biggest fan here, but I think we can agree on all this, or most of it. Right?
Oh contraire I think your great just conflicted.
If I ever have the pleasure of meeting you someday no unsolicited Bible verses I promise.
From the first book of the Bible to the last book, generosity to the poor is not a mere suggestion, it is something God demands.
After all, Jesus said the poor with always be with us so we are expected to feed them, voluntarily. But a person who is poor because they’re lazy and won’t work needs to be put to work to earn his bread.
“Those who hoard their wealth instead of sharing what they have with those in need are considered thieves.”
This would be large corporations and businesses who give to charities and causes for the tax breaks and social-justice points, not because they feel moved in their heart to give.
“So, fuck the government for stealing from us to (supposedly) give to the poor!!!”
Agreed. The government takes in loads of taxes to “give to the poor,” but it goes into the general budget and the government then decides who gets anything, what you get, and how much. Not to mention the overhead and employee salaries. It’s not a very efficient system for giving to the poor.
It is our duty, as Christians, to take care of the needy and the infirm, but the government just turns people into dependent tax suckers.
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
BL- QOTD- What good does it do to thump the Good Book? People are mean shits mostly and are interested in what enriches them. There is NOTHING but deception in all directions these days and a lot of it is from so called religious folks who talk copious amounts of lies in sites like BIN, etc.
The truth is attacked with full force and the pure of heart are called retards among other things. Echoes of BS off Alt/Lame Stream media while you Bible thump is NOT helpful to any of us. RiNS’ above post was most decent and he is a damn Odin worshiper. I have given up on humanity….period. Other than that I still love each of you, even old Flash.
Llpoh, I have not read your thread but I’m sure there are many words of wisdom from you.
Nice quotes.
Stucky, you need to get laid. Isn’t there a phone app for hook-ups?
You need help. Seriously.
There are so many asking for my money that if I gave them each a penny, I’d be broke. My wife stopped the phone because 99.9% of calls were “people” trying to con me into something or asking for a contribution; the phone company was taking their money, to bother me…no more, I get the last laugh. For the beggars on corners: get a compass and follow the needle to where the rich liberals are in south Florida, ya hear; we don’t feed the trash because that only breeds more trash. Now Stuck, how many times have people asked God for this or that (the Bible says ask and ye shall receive) and what is God’s score card on handing out the requested goodies? My guess it is quite a bit less than 10% so I suggest you just stop keeping scores on who’s meeting a presumed percent. PS: Rev Rick Wiles says we should just take the money from billionaires like Soros, Gates, Bozo, Buffet, Suckberger, etc, since they are shoving communism down our throats, let’s just stick it down their throats but good and see how they like it.
Those billionaires wouldn’t be where they are without the government’s help and cronyism.
I’m far from a Bible thumper, but the 10 Commandments are more than good ideas. Sorry to say I’ve broken more than a few, but its not a bad ideal. After all they are commandments, not suggestions.
The rules in the Bible are the best rules for avoiding conflict with others, including the 10 Commandments.
Warrior, we have all broken all 10. Thank God that he has given us a way out.
Almost all Christians agree that charitable deeds are central to Christian faith. The debate is weather or not the secular authority of the state should be an agent of Christian charity.
At the bottom is a link to a paper titled — “Christian Charity and the Welfare State”
It is quite long. But, it covers the question thoroughly and from every possible angle. It is written by a dude who is both an economist and a Christian.
Bottom line? The State should stay out of the charity business.

Here is an excerpt from the Conclusion section:
“The secular socialists … want to use government to make people more equal. In doing so, they are warring against nature and nature’s God, since He has given each of us different abilities (remember the parable of the talents). The Bible, by contrast, establishes the sacred principle of equality before the law
… Secularists and statists believe in unequal treatment before the law—a system of discrimination and privileges that plunders the property of some to give it to others so that everyone may be equal in what they own.
We have a clear choice to make. Either we follow God’s guidance and uphold the rule of law, or we reject Him and enthrone a system of privileges which breeds conflict rather than cooperation and peace.”
The bottom line is right. Charity should be a private affair, with family the key component, followed by community, church, individuals. Corps should stay the hell out of it, unless it is 100% owned by one person or family.
Llpoh
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Luke 6:25
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Matthew 6: 19-21
“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.”
1 Corinthians 13:3
Being a Christian is about one’s personal relationship with Christ. It has nothing to do with the average person’s need to be recognized by others. That includes giving as the function is to obey God’s word to be charitable, and to Glorify HIM. The whole basis of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for Mine and Your sins is the act of greatest charity ever, yet you mock that gift. A mocker is the next step to being a fool, and there is only one destination for fools. I pity you.
Here is just one more verse:
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Proverbs 14:12
Ask the Holy Spirit for help with understanding these words, HE will.
“They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords”
THAT is Ezekiel 16:40…….
“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”
The verse you red inked is Ezekiel 16:49…..probably just a miss stroke from fat finger fatigue.
Your ‘note’ at the end was funny……..
[A “normal” Christian is one who LIVES a Christian life, rather than just talk about it non-stop.]
[Thumpers, otoh, are IN-YOUR-FACE … and you know who I mean]
Poppin’ the hood on a Bible to search Scripture on your terms seems akin to poppin’ the hood on a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and using a ’62 Chey Impala manual to guide you in repairs….
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” Pro. 25:2
Certainly, it does seem as if you have ‘missed the narrative’……or simply want to just stir up schitt for comment count. Based on the intelligence you consistently display, I opt for the latter.
If the Thumpers term was directed at me, duly noted. If it was directed at GCP, duly note that I consider his input to be of great value….
annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum <——======
Hittites and Amorites whoring after strange gods………………..
It was absolutely NOT directed at you!!
Your other guess is fairly accurate.
All thru Proverbs there is much written about fools. A better modern day interpretation would be the word troll. This article and the previous article were trolling attempts to draw out those ‘bible thumpers’ in order to mock and deride.
James 3:10-12
10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?
If you are a Christian, bible thumper, you must remain silent to be a ‘good’ christian.
Psalm 10:4
“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”
Stucky, you didn’t respond to me on your other post, in which I said Jesus called the Jerusalem priests “fools and vipers.”
It was an accidental oversight …. I did not see it.
Which post was it (I have several) …. or, what was the question?
It’s was in the piece you wrote that you say you’re ashamed of, hijacked to get to 504 comments. You posted that calling someone a fool could basically send you in hell. So I said Jesus called the Jerusalem priests fools and vipers.
