Same here Stacking. No calls form any of my four ‘cousins’ at all. I have a neighbor who just happened to see an obit listing he thought might be a relative of mine, so he sent me a note. By then my Aunt had been gone for almost three weeks and already buried in a family plot within less than one mile where I was visiting. Since then, I visited the grave site with its freshly raked sod, I placed flowers, prayed a little prayer and understand the day and age in which I and age I and others live.
Embers lay deep in the psyche of some, those with principles and with understanding kith and kin. So, I made my peace with the situation. But there is a duplicity, a false quixotic, baseless counterfeit society that seems to grow like a cancer (I would argue that the seed was planted and watered here in the US circa 1900). Despite some disagreements here on TBP, I think most all of us are surrounded by this dreck everyday. Make your real family and friends close and fast (fast:so as to be hard to move; securely).

The hospital I work at gets laundry detergent and fabric softener in big 35 gallon plastic drums. Over the years I have re-purposed about 10 of these ( after a thorough cleaning)… a couple of rain barrels, 4 I added spouts to and keep in the garden with hose for drip watering. I also keep 4 filled with just potable water in the old tack room of the unused stables, just in case I need emergency water for flushing/boiling/drinking. I recommend to anyone with a place to store them to get some and keep them away from direct sun.
Get some iodine. Great purifier for drinking water. Or a bit of powdered bleach/chlorine.

Furthermore, of that ‘less than 6%’ number, those folks had an average of 2.6 comorbidities — i.e., they were already dying.
