First, they came for Pepe Le Pew:

Then they came for Daffy Duck.

I don’t speak with a lisp, so I said nothing.

Then they came for Bugs Bunny.

Lacking an affinity for agora, I again said nothing.

Then they came for me.  Alas, there was no one left. (not even Mel Blanc.)

Sufferin’ Succatasch!

Greetings from AOC Reeducation Camp Stalag #103.  If you are reading this, I’m already dead.  Just kidding, at least for now.

Unfortunately for my animated bunkmates, the end has come.  Pepe, the sweetest skunk to grace the planet has met his demise. All he ever wanted was the love of a cat who accidentally fell under a can of paint leaving a telling trail of white paint across her back.  Just like the Uighurs, the fetching feline was equally unaware of the cultural norms and habits attributed to the various skunk genders.

Apparently skunk women (womyn, womxn?) are attracted to the boorish habits of unwoke skunk cis gender males. Such activities are expected and, remarkably, encouraged.  1950’s paternalistic attitudes are alive and well in the skunk community.  Our poor feline, being among the wokest of her gender and breed, was unprepared for such advances, and lacking language and writing skills was incapable of asking for or receiving consent.

Likewise, our protagonist, bereft of the credentialed academics of those that chose to cancel him, had only limited communication skills.  Having only paws with no opposable thumbs he was incapable of handling, let alone using a writing implement. His limited language, English, spoken in a poor French accent was most likely intelligible to his female companion.  And who are we, great thinkers that we are who know for fact that gender is binary, should look down on amephitidae-feline affair?  After all, you can’t choose who you fall in  love with.

Although mentioned above, I can’t imagine Daffy Duck getting cancelled.  After all, unlike Bugs Bunny, his albinoesque Leporidae wise cracking nemesis, Daffy is black.  Perhaps not African American black, betrayed by his yellow bill and feet, yet still black.  Furthermore, he his pursued by the by the most hated wastrel of all, a Second Amendment apologist pasty white man with a musket.  In one of their more famous bits from the cartoon titled “Open Season,” Bugs and Daffy encounter the white supremist hunter Elmer Fudd.

Despite the obvious fact that it is rabbit season, rather than shoot the white rabbit, the white supremacist consistently shoots the innocent black duck all at the behest of his white rabbit enabler.   The racial bias is undeniable.  The albino rabbit questions the hunting season.  “Duck season” he tells the hunter.  The white cis gender hunter, having no intelligence beyond the Second Amendment is instantly confused.  Enter out hero, the black duck to argue it’s rabbit season.

“Rabbit season” yells the duck.  “Duck season” exclaims the rabbit.  The two go back and forth until the rabbit switches the order exercising his white privilege.  The duck, suffering from centuries of institutional bias, mistakenly yells out duck season.  Hearing the dog whistle he has been waiting for, the hunter shoots the duck.

For those having difficulty following this thread, let me break it down further.  “Rabbit Season” aka “White Season.”  “Duck Season” aka “Black Season.”  Repeat until you her the dog whistle, then shoot the black duck.  Institutional racism intersects with cis gender gun rights absolutism.   If you thought this was just a funny bit of cartoon amusement, you are also obviously rife with white privilege, regardless of what color you happen to be.

While we can’t cancel Daffy, we can certainly cancel the violence directed towards him and all ducks of color.

It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies follow Pepe down the rabbit hole of history.  Yosemite Sam, the gun toting southerner is well past his sell by date.  His confederate bonafides place him in realm of Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee.  Compared to him, Jefferson Davis was an abolitionist.  Foghorn Leghorn, fuhgeddaboudit.  That giant rooster is a walking testament to paternalism.  How he has survived this long is nothing short of a miracle.

Porky Pig?  His very presence renders the vegans into shock.  A few years ago we could have cancelled him due Muslim sensibilities but that doesn’t seem to be a thing any more.  What ever happened to that grievance industry?  Talk about losing your mojo.  You have a better chance finding an operating K-Mart than an aggrieved Muslim cleric.  Well render up to Allah, and all that.

That just about wraps it up or as Porky would say, Th-Th-Th-That’s All Folks!
