I’m thinking that the masks and COVID bullshit are getting old even for the blues. In my liberal neck of the woods I see more and more people and groups walking around mask free.

A virus will do what a virus does. There is NO MITIGATION STRATEGY SHORT OF NUCLEAR OBLITERATION OF THE AREA that will work against a virus.
Here in Texas, we managed to lose 18,000 bars and restaurants, which is 50% , and God knows how many other small businesses.
We stayed open throughout, cuz cancer patients can’t just hide out in their basements like a certain drooling imbecile we know, getting their treatments via zoom.
Look at the Amish. After 2 weeks of these crazy mandates, they said no more and just went about their business. They had 90% infected. The local health authorities screamed it would be an extinction level event for them.
And what happened? They had the exact same morbidity and mortality as the rest of America and now are at herd immunity. Without masking/lockdowns and the demon vaccine. Their society and economy is intact. (See my comments on the Herd Immunity thread.)
In Arkansas, dropped the mask mandate at the end of last month. For the past two days, the death toll has been identical — 2 dead.
Maybe 54 weeks of “2 weeks to flatten the curve” is enough for even some of those on the left.
We hunkered down for 3 weeks last year, but did not buy into the mask hysteria and mostly have lived a normal life.

People in hongcouver need to FLOOD this restuarant and defy these power hungry buttstreaks. SUPPORT those businesses that are defying the edicts.
If they do, it will be the business owners that suffer the consequences. Not that I’m against bucking the gov, but they will make things hard for the owners. Thousands of other businesses and customers need to defy orders as well to make it work.
There are business owners that ARE stepping up to the plate and doing this very thing. They want their day in court. If people don’t show physical support then businesses won’t risk the trouble they’ll draw. But if they SEE the support they’ll enter the fray. The old adage, for evil to advance takes good men to do nothing. Not resisting is aiding and abetting the communists.
Rebel news has been raising money for business owners to challenge these edicts and so has the Justice Institute in Alberta. A non-profit law firm thats challenging all the breaches to our Charter of Rights.
We had the same problem with the Wheat board when I was a kid. Farmers who wanted to sell their own grain to whomever they pleased defied the government is such large numbers the government was forced to end its compulsory nature and it was eventually sold off.
My uncle who farmed in the N Battleford area used to say the elevators are like whore houses. Its where the famer goes to get screwed. He wasn’t to fond of the WMB. Can’t blame him at all…

Today I saw someone had spray painted “Resign Trudeau” “Resign Ford” “No More Lockdowns” and “CCP/Genocide” on an overpass on the 401 highway just outside of Toronto. Every caller to a Friday morning show on Toronto’s talk radio station said they’d had enough of this lockdown nonsense and this was despite the station’s constant Covid updates and fear-mongering all through 2020. And at yesterday’s ‘No More Lockdown’ protest in Toronto, protesters stopped outside a major media company’s headquarters chanting “Tell the truth!”
It appears normally obedient and docile Canadians have finally reached the point they’ve had enough of this nonsense and are starting to fight back against government overreach and intrusion into our daily livers.
The question is do our politicians care about the will of governed? I’m not sure they do.
A LOT of people are suddenly waking up. What worries me is that some might snap. Violently. The media is probably hoping this will happen so those in charge can tighten the screws. It’s a sick world right now. Sort of like vomiting your way out of the flu.
