I’m doing this for our friend “Reality Doug”. He seems to be quite angry all the time. That’s no way to live! I think Doug just needs a hug! And some uplifting music for the soul.
“The Prayer” by Celine Dion Featuring Andrea Bocelli
We all need a little guidance to be the kindest version of ourselves. Praying for the strength to see the best in people and to be guided by the light is sometimes necessary. The church-like music and lyrics are profoundly moving.
“I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way”
====================
“Thank You” by Johnny Reid
One of the nicest things you can ever do for someone is to simply say “Thank You“. King Solomon said, “A joyful heart is good medicine.” This incredibly moving song reflects the life of a couple lived to it’s fullest. Her husband has recently passed away and the video shows her reflecting the special moments of their life together. Every one of us are headed towards this kind of reflection. The thank you is for the life lived together, and for being there for each other. It’s both gracious and powerful. You might need a tissue.
“Thank you for the life you’ve given me.
Thank you for sharin’ all your love and your peace.
Thank you, for every tear of happiness I’ve cried”
====================
“Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw
Indeed, this is a miserable crappy world we live in right now. But, it’s not ALL misery and crap! McGraw’s lyrics remind us about the beauty in gentleness and giving. How we treat each other lasts a lifetime. It’s the one aspect of life over which we have control. The song reminds us that we can choose to be nice people. When they lower our bodies in the grave, we’ll be remembered in large part by how we made others feel.
“Hold the door say please say thank you
Don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When those dreams you’re dreamin’ come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind”

“Somebody’s Daughter” by Tenille Townes
Townes said — “I hope it inspires people to notice others around them, and to think about how much a wave and a smile can really mean to somebody”.
True story. When I exited the convenience store this morning I was “greeted” by an old guy in really ratty clothes asking me if I could give him fifty cents. I just looked at him, and he quickly added, “or even a quarter“. I looked at him because my first thought was (honestly) — “This was someone’s son.” And I wondered what his dreams were when he was just a boy … if he ever imagined he would be begging for a quarter when he was an old man. After my purchase I did indeed have about sixty cents in my pocket, and a $5 dollar bill. I gave him the five … and he kept saying “God bless you man, God bless you!“. Huh!! A (probably) homeless guy asking God to bless ME(!!), I thought on the way home. And it almost made me cry that I wasn’t more thankful for God’s blessings in my own life … that I focus so much on the crap, instead.
Anyway …. this song serves as a reminder that we all matter. The lost soul featured in the video was ‘Somebody’s Daughter‘ … and it could be anyone you know.
“Bet she was somebody’s best friend laughing
Back when she was somebody’s sister
Countin’ change at the lemonade stand
Probably somebody’s high school first kiss
Dancin’ in a gym where the kids all talk about someday plans
Now this light’ll turn green and I’ll hand her a couple dollars
Oh, and I’ll wonder how she felt when no one caught her
She’s somebody’s daughter”
====================
“Anyway” by Martina McBride
This song is based on a wonderful short poem Paradoxical Commandments written by Kent M. Keith in 1968. Mother Theresa kept a copy of this somewhat famous poem on the wall of her children’s orphanage in India until the day she passed. The powerful lyrics remind us of what kindness and goodness truly means. It’s might not be between “us” and ‘them’ but, rather ….. between ourselves and our higher power.
“You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away
Love ’em anyway”
====================
“One Voice” by Billy Gilman
The words of child sing to heaven asking for help down here on earth. The kindness of this song is the hopeful prayer of a youngster recognizing the way things ought to be, but are not yet. Never lose hope. Little Billy Gilman reminds us that through darkness there is light.
“We need some help
Down here on earth
A thousand prayers, a million words
But one voice was heard”
====================
“Try a Little Kindness” by Glen Campbell
I close this out with the great and awesome Glen Campbell, RIP. This simple song is a Forever Song … one that will resonate forever. It doesn’t matter which generation hears this song, the message will always apply. Hey, if you see someone who needs a helping hand, or a shoulder, we should just try a little kindness!! The smallest gestures are often the most remembered. The Apostle Paul wrote — “And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another ...” — a message as relevant today, perhaps even more so, as it was 2,000 years ago.
“You got to try a little kindness, yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness, then you’ll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets”

BONUS VIDEO for The Music Mafia.
Hey guys, you might want to include this child prodigy for this Sunday’s selection. Brigitte Xie, of Ridgefield, Conn. became the youngest person ever to win a prestigious international music competition — earning her a performance spot at Carnegie Hall. SHE IS JUST THREE YEARS OLD!! She started playing just one year ago … to pass time while stuck mostly inside during the Corona lock down. Unbelievable.
https://youtu.be/rV7raoa7FWU
That little 3 year old has more talent than Celine Dion.
You beat me to it with Glen Campbell. One of his last tours was with Ronnie Milsap. I really regret not seeing that. Never seen either of them. Apparently at the end, Glen would play the same song over and over until his daughter bumped the needle a little bit.
#8 “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath. Always cheers me.
Stucky, you have a wealth of knowledge and too much free time. Thank you. (See that?)
You’re welcome. And, yes, I saw what you did there. 🙂
RDoug- Stucky has a way with crowd control, he’s the TBP bouncer and biblical scholar. At least you don’t have Llpoh and Stucky on your back, I have been there.
Does anyone know where Loopey has gone to hide out? Oz is in such a mess, I am reading articles that link Australia to NK it is so bad. NOBODY in and NOBODY out of Oz right now. Llpoh needs to check in.
I am afraid when I think about my place in this world, BL. What they are doing in Victoria State, Australia looks scarier, the scariest in the ‘free world’ from my little screen. I don’t know about NK, or even what it means. Yet, I leave my screen and the world is business as usual for everyone else. Nothing unusual.
RDoug- Free your mind of the fear. Being all bunged up inside is bad for your health and mental outlook. I am as serious as a heart attack about not playing “The Game”, many are getting on board. Fear is all they have down at the Hollywood World Control Central Planning office Doug.
IIRC, the Big Injun mentioned going on an RV type excursion with another couple to explore a bit of Oz.
I also have been thinking about him. I hope he checks in soon.
You started with Celine Dion? I’ll take a pass on this.
My thoughts exactly. Celine makes me angry.
I guess there’s not a lot of love for Celine here. To be honest, I have never — as in, not once — listened to a complete song by her before this one.
I picked this version because I loved the orchestra accompaniment and Bocelli has a great voice … the two blend nicely together. And I love the lyrics …..
“A world where pain and
sorrow will be ended
And every heart
that’s broken will be mended
And we’ll remember
we are all….
God’s children
Reaching out to touch you
Reaching to the sky…. “
C’mon man! What’s not to like about that?
Anyway, here is a nice acoustic version mixed with a bit of “country” … and in English! … that anti-Dionites might enjoy better.
+1000 Stuck … some people got lost along the way.
Yes Flash, we have been looking for you for years. 🙂
Hey Stucky … Great Post! Some of these songs I’ve listened to numerous times and a few I had never heard of. I haven’t listened to Your compilation yet, but upon finishing reading through Your introductions to each one, I Am Left Smiling … Really Big.
God Bless You, Stucky.
Seconded Anon 🙂 And my contribution for those who ‘saved our world from the Commies’ in UK at least.
Thanks, Peter. I loved the Kinks back in my misspent youth.
That’s really a nice and thoughtful gesture, Stucky, and well done for all the effort needed to comfort our ‘Reality Doug’ who I really hadn’t noticed.
If he is as angry as you say then perhaps some of your good feelings will moderate his place on this earth; for we walk this way but once, and in doing so, we need to spread some love which conquers all afflictions.
AP- I am most proud of the Brits show of unity last weekend. Merikans are just trained dogs cowering in the corner…..sigh.
We outnumber the bastards 99.9 to .01, that is all we need to know in the end.
Yes BL, I too was encouraged by the attendance – the Brits are dangerous when roused! I like the odds – we will win in the end my friend.
Book it Dano!
AP, you’re so right. I thinks that is why “they” have to divide/fracture/kill us. A mass of people with a unified vision and goal set has the capability of tremendous force.

Yep Machinist – nice one – a unity hymn. We are unbeatable if only we can bury our differences and stand united – a big call I know – but when the chips are down and everyone is suffering in the same boat; then perhaps we can unite in our misery. trim the sails and set course for victory!

I Love This Calamity! Don’t know how I missed it. I usually listen to a good bit of country music, and I’m a Huge Fan of Reba — But this is the first time I’ve heard this song. Just Wonderful!
Now I’m going out to shine my own little light … happy to have awakened this morning ad still standin’ 6 feet above ground … La La La La La La La ….
When we choose to be agnostic we choose to surrender inner peace. If you’re a believer and lack inner peace try Ex-Lax.
Someone should tell her she is in her underwear.
and you are not.
HAhaHAhaHahahaha ….. GOOD ONE!
Lots of dirty dealing goes on with America’s wild horses. Plenty of good books out there that deal with the various aspects of how government once again does a poor job.
Three years old and reads music…
That’s insane
Thanks, Stucky. I have always believed that music is the language that will save us. My choir master told me that God gave us music and a voice to sing it to let us know that we are beautiful.
I am left feeling a bit ‘red-faced’. I let myself get caught in a useless exchange yesterday and I must admit that I’m not especially proud of the way I handled it. No to so much why but I certainly could have done a better job of sticking to my own Christian values when I did. I just found TS to be an arrogant and rude blowhard and said so. I let myself get drawn in when he tried to step on my dick. I guess I am now officially just another crabby old fart. hahaI could have done better and I know it. The old truth, “Don’t wrestle with a pig. You’ll just get muddy and the pig likes it.” comes to mind.
This is a great site and I really enjoy the discussions that usually enlighten and inform. With that in mind, I would also like to apologize if I offended any of the biblical scholars, like you, Austrian Peter, et al. Guys, I have studied it, too, but with a different slant. I find it to be more of a study in the ways of man (that ol’ human condition thing) that offers explanations as to who we are in a language that was appropriate for the times. As an esoteric historical account of man, not so much. Regardless, it is still a fascinating and rich source to study, whatever your motivation is and I do respect that.
Thanks, again.
Thanks C.A.L. your invocation is gratefully accepted – except I was never offended – it takes a lot to do that! 🙂
Welcome to The Club!! I’m a charter member.
You didn’t offend me, so no need to apologize. The thing about shit-fests is this ….. bury that shit before you fall asleep. Some people carry grudges for a very long time. That’s crazy.
I believe every day is a New Day with a Clean Slate. For example, I got pretty pissed of at brian a couple days ago (again … lol) but, am I pissed off at him today? Nope, not at all. I’m sure you and TS can work it out … you’ll see he’s a good dude, really.
I think RD might gravitate to this better:
You are correct, sir. To get me is to love me is to get me is to love me. What I want most of all socially is to be understood. You peeps can’t know what being mentally alien is like (unless you are). Always friction. Common culture is priceless. If I were evil, I would clone myself relentlessly.
We are with ya here RD, hang in there man.
“Praying for the strength to see the best in people and to be guided by the light is sometimes necessary”
I would question which light Celine is being guided by…
Just got done listening to all the songs contributed by others. I enjoyed every one of them! Thanks to all of you.
Celine Dion seems to be some sort of weirdo satanist. Kind of spoils her music for me.

My top 3 favorite movies; Jesus Christ Superstar, Fiddler on the Roof, and Dr. Zhivago. And Lara’s Theme is one of the most beautiful melodies EVAH! In the video above, I just loved the reaction of the audience … they’re all so joyful. Nice choice!
“… a song about love & death …”
In happier days of long long ago, when my mother was healthy, back when I was still in grammar school, she used to sing this song while working in the kitchen or yard … all the time. So much so that even I knew all the words by heart, and would sometimes sing along with her.
You triggered some serious nostalgia this morning …. thanks.
Metoo no hashtag.
Am on the porch watching Nick haul gravel.
Commie Trash Honoring Commie Trash …..
“No Regrets”
No! No regrets
No! I will have no regrets
All the things
That went wrong
For at last I have learned to be strong
No! No regrets
No! I will have no regrets
For the grief doesn’t last
It is gone
I’ve forgotten the past
And the memories I had
I no longer desire
Both the good and the bad
I have flung in a fire
And I feel in my heart
That the seed has been sown
It is something quite new
It’s like nothing I’ve known
No! No regrets
No! I will have no regrets
All the things that went wrong
For at last I have learned to be strong
No! No regrets
No! I will have no regrets
For the seed that is new
It’s the love that is growing for you
TOO FUNNY … a murderous former KGB Agent presenting his new “softer” image singing Fats Domino’s Blueberry Hill … Somebody Give Putin a Hug … HAhaHahahaha
I’ve watched a LOT of Putin videos …. never ever ran across this one. Singing Blueberry Hill … hahaha … that made my day.
Sadly, your characterization of Vlad as “a murderous former KGB Agent” show that you know little to nothing about him.
His job with the FSB involved tracking foreigners for potential recruitment in his native Leningrad. Later he was sent to Dresden, reflecting his good command of German. There, he neither excelled nor failed. He was just … average. Records show that he was not recruiting and running agents so much as collating reports, liaising with the East German Stasi and responding to queries from Moscow. He was little more than a paper shuffler … not some murderous thug. In fact, it has been well established that he lost his competitive fire … he just settled and enjoyed his relatively privileged life in Berlin much more than sending reports to Moscow. Of course, when the Wall came down in 1989, a whole new era opened up for Vladimir.
That’s a deep fake, right?
An epidemic of homelessness exists in the ranks of the elderly in America, too often for reasons that really are out of their control. But, as for abortion, there’s never any valid reason for a woman to murder an unborn child, when so many programs and alternatives, other options, exist; in rare instances, doctors may have to choose to terminate a pregnancy for medical reasons that endanger the woman’s life.
And as for the drug addict who pulls his .45 … well … life is all about the choices we make. If You’re gonna be stupid, You damned sure better be tough …
Good song in some respects though. It tells its story in a very convincing manner and the imagery of the video is powerful. The guy has a good voice and the tune is a fine one to listen to.
Not a happy song. But represent so many vets..
Makes me recall my time in Nicaragua and El Salvador in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Too many dances with Ol’ Grim to suit me.
