Over time I’ve come to detest deceitful and manipulative displays of militarism at sporting events, normally accompanied by fly-overs of our military’s killing machines. But Dave Rubin aired the anthem sung at the Nassau Coliseum for the Stanley Cup playoffs that brought tears to this old man’s eyes. The unmistakable inference for me (and millions of others) was a wonderful, decent crowd of proud people showing these America-hating corporatist bastards that we’re up to the fight. It yells out to those trying to destroy man’s last, best hope for freedom: “We ain’t begun to fight.” See if you agree:

You know what makes that extra special is that the games played up north in Canadastan STILL didn’t have fully open fan seating.
The difference in atmosphere is remarkable. I wonder if seeing the Canadians play their first two games in Las Vegas will get something started up there.
In the Italian community I grew up in it was said that the best Italians moved here. I suspect the same may be true of Canadians.
Don’t know why it came to my mind, but I recall that Harlem actually had a WONDERFUL Italian Community at one time. Vibrant and FULL Of Life!
We could throw a hell of a party. Then gun down those who pissed us off.
Doubtful.
Justina is too busy trying to secure her place in ” The Club” in England.
Cracks are showing though, as some of the teams in the World Cup qualifiers are drawing the line and refusing to “take a knee”. They ingeniously called it “Taking a Stand”.
Well played, I say.
If the Habs make it to finals the cracks are going to show thru
THANKS CC! This left me with a BIG SMILE on my face by it’s end. What a Wonderful testament to the love for America that is still found in the ranks of Her people.
God Bless You and Your Family and God Bless This America We Love So Well. May He Keep Her Free for All Eternity.
Here is another take with no lines to blur out the video. The whole thing is heart warming.
CC, that was FANTASTIC. I agree with your sentiments 100%.
I hope you had a chance to see my posting yesterday … the story behind the Anthem.
Thanks, CC. The best part of it was Ms. Raviv felt the vibe from the crowd and had the good sense to lower her mike until the closing bars. That is what I call professionalism.
Right after the Boston bomber this happened at the Boston garden. And it has happened since. It’s also a hockey fan thing
Yes. That beautiful young lady made that moment special.
That one note. They should make it a normal note. It’s almost always missed. That was touching but still wrong. That hymn is about incorporated American value not American human value. They let government define their ‘we’. They are owned. If you can see the flyovers as control, why not the patriotic hymn? Half those hunkies would take a bullet to preserve status quo government institutions. The Left eliminates people. No contest.
Now if they sang the glories of Western white culture, that would be something, and sans the Judeo-Christianity.
Reread my opening comment-especially the part about corporatist bastards.
I don’t share your optimism, CC, about the perspective(s) of New Yorkers. The American we is the problem. It’s a banal idea, perverted since the 1960s. There is no good quality control on who is American and plenty of bad. The government chartered by the U.S. Constitution is incorporated. Government not mine cannot define a healthy we for me. Incorporated government destroys what it touches, and it’s been defining the American we for two centuries.
It makes this old man believe there still some hope left here. and maybe i good enough for one more fight.
and yes, It did bring tears to my eyes as well.
Hmm.
Woketards and woke dindu-ball players seem under-represented in these videos.
And the Coliseum seems packed.
If only.
I watched 3 times.
A thousand thumbs up…CC. It was beautiful, and I was happy to be watching in, too… As much as I can’t stand NY, I’m glad that they dispatched the Bruins shortly thereafter… GO BOLTS!!!!!!!!
Here’s the thing about the National Anthem:
IT’S A FIGHT SONG. IT’S NOT A BALLAD, IT’S NOT A LOVE SONG, AND IT’S NOT ABOUT THE PERFORMER’S BEAUTIFUL VOICE. IT WAS INSPIRED BY COMBAT WHILE MEN WERE GETTING BLOWN THE FUCK UP. IT’S A FIGHT SONG AND MUST BE RENDERED AS SUCH.
Here’s the thing, Mr. Caps Writer …. YOU’RE A MORAN.
IT’S A SONG ABOUT MEN WILLING TO DIE TO SECURE FREEDOM.
PERHAPS YOU ARE NOT AWARE THAT THE BRITISH WERE TRYING TO TAKE BACK THEIR COLONY THAT THEY LOST JUST A FEW DECADES EARLIER. THEY DESIRED TO MAKE US THEIR VASSALS AGAIN ….FROM SERFS TO FREEDOM TO SERFS AGAIN.
YES, THE BACKGROUND IS COMBAT BUT THE FOREGROUND IS FREEDOM.
WATCH THIS AND LEARN SOMETHING!
sorry troll, a distinction without a difference, not biting, but will only point out you misspelled Moron.
Moron.
Sigh. It gets tiring explaining to Newbies why we spell it “moran”. Many years ago someone posted the pic below … and hence, a tradition was started.
Newbie swrichmond, you ought to get to know the lay of the land before you start shitting on it.
You categorized America’s National Anthem as people “getting blown the fuck up”, and did so without context as to WHY … leaving a negative connotation in the reader’s mind. So, for you to claim that it’s a ” distinction without a difference is complete utter bullshit.
In closing, for your “troll” comment, I have but 4 words for you —-> GO FUCK YOURSELF, MORAN.
Nearly 40 years ago, for the last time, I returned to my alma mater and attended a football game. I don’t remember the game; I suspect we won. What I remember was being alone in a group of 95K, 98K Americans, and singing the National Anthem. I have never experienced anything like that, although I had attended all the home games when I was a student.
