One Shocking Chart That Has Farmers Trembling With Fear

Via ZeroHedge

Readers know by now that the Western US is facing one of the most severe droughts in years. We’ve documented (read here & here) this spring of a “megadrought” sweeping across states like California and Nevada as risks of a second Dust Bowl increase by the day.

But in this note, let’s dive deeper into the drought and how it’s impacting farmers and the potential consequences it could have on crops. Meteorologists at BAMWX have published data on surface soil moisture over 20 years. Surface soil moisture is the water that is in the upper 4 inches and available for various types of plants. They found that the 2021 moisture deficit for early June is the worst it has ever been in two decades.

BAMWX’s Vince Bryan says the moisture deficit in the soil is “a concern” as it may impact plant development. Soil moisture plays a crucial role in agricultural monitoring, drought and flood forecasting, forest fire prediction, and water supply management.

Soil moisture observations can alert of impending drought, such as what’s been underway in the Western US this year.

What this means is that soil moisture deficits can dry crops and make them more vulnerable to pests. Even short-term drought can cause damage to crops, mainly during critical stages of crop development, such as after planting or during flowering.

If the drought persists, crop yields could come underestimates this year and result in elevated agricultural prices.

This isn’t about rainfall or groundwater, it’s about soil health. Big Ag mines soil without replenishment. They use it as an anchor for roots, not as a source of fertility. Soil absent tilth cannot prevent runoff, erosion, and rapid evaporation. Until this reality is recognized it will only get worse, but since reality is not a part of The Narrative… well, you know.

The relationship between obesity, illness and poor physicality (you say physiognomy I say Tater Tots) found in citizens/residents of the USA reliant on industrialized farming and just-in-time food delivery should be obvious.

The relationship between Roundup-ready seed and Roundup (and other toxins designed to replace natural processes and eliminate human labor) to the decline of trace minerals in soils should also be obvious.

Cannot pinpoint source but read that most chemicals used in herbicides are antibiotics. No wonder we are a sick society.

“Readers know by now that the Western US is facing one of the most severe droughts in years.” No we don’t. Another fucking grift. I remember Jamie Dimon at the Aspen Institute 15 years ago saying that it’s about time farmers paid a fair price for water. It’s a banksters wet dream second only to private energy taxes. They already get to counterfeit. How many people are so stupid that they look at a tiny little map of the United States with some colored blobs on it and think that they are getting good information?

I want to comment on T4C’s situation, for some reason I can’t post on that thread. You can’t win that one. Go get your shot. The potential downside in getting the shot is dwarfed by the real-time downside of being isolated from your daughter and grandchildren. Not everything is politics. Does it suck that your son-in-law power played you here? Yeah it does. But so what. Write it off to, at least he’s trying to be protective of his family, which is a good thing. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Who knows, maybe the vaccine will save your life. Probably not, but you never know. But don’t let the politics of the moment interfere with the closeness of your family. Not worth it at all. If you stay away from your daughter and grandchild, the oligarchs win.

Your logic has some big holes in it. If the Commonwealth of Virginia told her to get the shot or else, and she told them to fuck off, that would be a principled position. And an admirable one. But this is a family squabble. Parents put conditions on grandparents all the time. It’s just part of the deal, like it or not. Her life will be better with her family intact. That trumps all other concerns. By a lot. You can’t go to the mat on everything. Time and energy are finite. The son in law is either passive aggressive, or legitimately thinks he is protecting his family. Doesn’t matter which one is true, honestly. He holds all the cards. So she is in a no win. So fold, and move on. Sometimes you lose. That’s life. Family is all that matters. Not “principles”.

Not necessarily true.

— What about the War of Northern Aggression … brother against brother … did they (both sides) not have principles?

— The Revolt Against England was quite similar … a brother Loyalist against a brother Patriot …. did they not have principles?

— What about Jesus’ words? —– ” If any man come to Me and hate not his father and mother, and wife and children, and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple”

Star has a point. Not popular here, but I get it. I would never let anything come between my family…especially TPTB. OTOH…I will never allow anyone to force me to get the shot either. I was pretty adamant that I didn’t want my kids around the “vaxxed” until I found out that half my family got the jab. So…I backed off and just hope we all stay healthy.

But…I don’t know…being required to inject yourself with an experiment? I would probably draw that line there. She’s not rejecting them; they’re rejecting her. Kinda different.

Star…I moved from a blue state to a small rural red town/state and life is very different here. It’s almost as if no one knew Covid existed. Everyone is just living life as normal. It’s like I moved back to America after living in a communist country. People in blue areas ARE living a different reality for sure.

The 2021 Western farming year (20% of USA food?) and ranching (millions of beef cattle) will be a bust for Western Agriculture. Fifty million people are hoping for rains come November to refill the dams; but when the rains fail, they will at least have all that free Green Energy they have spent billions on to replace the cheap coal fired plants they destroyed (to save the Environment from the Global Warming Hoax). This Grand Solar Minimum Climate Change Western Drought was foreseeable, just as the serious cooling above the 45th Latitude that is expected. Welfare Maggots need to be making a garden and everybody needs to pray the Mini-Ice Age coming is just 30 years and not 100 or more. Sure sounds like Four Horsemen are bearing down hard on the G-7 Useful Idiots to me (get more Shots, print more Fiat, accept more illegals, more lockdowns, Shot Passports, more censorship, Mark of the Beast, only Central Bank Digital money, One World Government and Leader, Retraining Camps, etc). “When will they ever learn…” How will they learn if all the Conservatives are censored?

Right now the hydroelectric generation from the Hoover Dam is down significantly because of the multi decade low water levels. Greenies are well and truly screwed if the water doesn’t flow, the wind doesn’t blow and the Sun is blocked.
In my part of the world it is pretty dry and more wind than usual. Upper 8o’s to upper 90’s past ten days.

rhs jr
rhs jr

I’m thinking there ain’t enough solar panels and windmills on a good day to replace Hoover Dam’s generators and even if there was, how could they drink electricity? Even if the Eddy Minimum is just 30 years, compare that to a just a decade of the Dirty Thirties! If I lived in the West, I’d move before it became like the Gobi Desert, or even Somalia. “The Ancient Ones” had to leave the West; “Have suitcase, will travel” would be my motto now.

The west IS a desert. Always was a desert. The problem isn’t lack of rain, there’s always been lack of rain. The problem is that reservoirs & aquifers can only support so much population & agriculture no matter what engineering marvels are used, because of that lack of rain.
