Government’s Sole Motivation

Guest Post by Freed Radical

Yell Socialism in a Crowded America

As a young skull full of mush at the community college I took this one credit health class, a throw away elective that everyone had to take. It was taught by a salty man in his 50’s who had a dry sense of humor, the kind of guy young students enjoyed listening to between classes as he smoked a cigarette down to the butt and authoritatively complained about everything, while leaning on a vending machine.

There was this nursing student in the front row, a young lady, and she was front and center, eager to get her A+. In the first class the professor asked us all a question, “Does the FDA protect us?” Miss Nursing Student raised her hand and confidently said, “Yes!”

The professor said no, the FDA does not protect us, and has no such intention. They just make a bunch of regulations. Companies do whatever they want, and if they get caught breaking the regulations they pay the fine and move on to something the same but different. Not much changes. The nursing student objected, strenuously. Then this wry little grin grew at the corners of the professor’s mouth. Game on.

Just about every class they argued, and argued and argued. Fortunately, the exams were easy. It was all quite entertaining!

The disagreement endured partly because they were arguing different points. She was arguing about the advertised mission of the FDA, which she trusted implicitly for some reason, and he was arguing about the motivations of the FDA, as illustrated by their action and inaction on various fronts.

Even as a young student I could see her naiveté, knowing but little about government myself. Some agency a thousand miles away certainly cannot protect anybody. Every student in school was aware of the impotent bureaucracy of the state college we were attending. How could any government department actually be effective at anything? Today, we know there is a revolving door between the FDA and industry, so much so it’s hard to tell the difference between the MD pimps and the PhD hookers, and protecting the public is the least of their worries.

It was a long time before I asked the next very important question: What exactly are the motivations of our government today?

You and I have known people who talk one line and do something different. Their true motivations and goals are hidden, and they calculate their actions to appear consistent with honorable motivations while accomplishing their secret plans. It becomes obvious after a while when what they say and what they do are out of agreement. The same is true of government.

Let’s play a little game called Detect the Motivation.

  • Government says it is here to serve the public. Civil servants talk about the “customer,” that is, the taxpayer, and how the government works to provide good value. Then they go off and waste a billion dollars.
  • The TSA states its purpose as providing transportation security, but there is little security, as determined by the government’s own auditors. Training the public to trade freedom for security is its actual mission.
  • The Treasury Dept. is in charge of collecting revenues, but it also persecutes conservative individuals and organizations through the IRS.
  • The CDC has a mission to control disease, but we have seen in the last year that they only want to control people and breed sheep.
  • The FBI is charged with investigating illegalities, but they engage in illegalities of their own as political shills.
  • The DOJ investigated the injustices done to Trump before and after the 2016 election, and swept it all under the rug, committing an injustice of its own.
  • The Department of Education promotes education, but accomplishes de-education, turning our public school kids into idiots, intentionally.

These actions, and many, many others we could list, betray their true motives as government agencies. Add to them Congress, the entire judiciary and the Presidency. The motivation of government is not to protect any private citizen, make us safe, or provide for the general welfare or domestic tranquility. Their actual motivation is not found explicitly in the Constitution, nor the Declaration of Independence, any court opinion, executive order, law, regulation, ruling, memo, or sticky note, nor any other written government document. We can rule out all the assumed motivations from our country’s founding.

However, having such a large data set of behavioral examples, it’s pretty easy to see what motivational framework fits the data and wins our little game. Very easy.

The motivation of government in every action and interaction is to grow government. That means to grow government paychecks, payrolls, and pensions. It means to grow government power and influence, necessarily diminishing freedom and individuality in the process.

When you look at any action of government and compare it to this motivation to grow government, then everything government does makes perfect sense! Well, not perfect sense to us because we are not power hungry automatons, but you know what I mean. Government’s lust for power and growth is the only motivation that fits all the data.

So you are reading the news and see some stupid action of a government body, local, state, or federal. “What is this about?” Just line it up with their primary motivation and ask yourself how that action grows government. And understand that there are supporting roles in this real life horror story, such as increasing control, fostering submission, weakening individuals, destroying business, killing the economy, promoting globalism, sucking up to special interests, and so on.

Here are a few examples of government actions in various areas, and their stated and actual motivation.

Covid Lockdowns

Stated motivation: Flatten the curve to prevent hospitals from being overloaded, and protect the population. For two weeks.

Actual motivation: Set the government up as our permanent savior, cause unemployment and increased dependency, destroy small business, probe the limits of public submission, and make elected officials look like heroes to those paralyzed by fear.

Gender Confusion

Stated motivation: Provide equal opportunity, fairness, and justice to all Americans, regardless of their gender identification.

Actual motivation: Grow and enrage another minority constituency group, one that is in direct opposition to Christian principles, and step in with new regulations and court decisions to weaken America’s foundational moral framework. Emasculate men.

Response to Rolling Blackouts, Gas Shortages, Food Shortages

Stated motivation: Enhance infrastructure to prevent future problems.

Actual motivation: Cause the sheep to cry for more government regulation and intervention, requiring larger budgets and more government employees to manage the new controls.

Defunding Police

Stated motivation: Stop racist killings of blacks by police.

Actual motivation: Expand crime quickly, causing the sheep to cry out for re-funding and even expansion of the police state.

Abortion

Stated motivation: Left – A woman has a right to choose. Right – A baby has a right to life.

Actual motivation: Money. Every time abortion is mentioned, millions of dollars flow into both Democrat and Republican coffers. They don’t care about the issue, just the money, which cements their power and grows government.

Racism

Stated motivation: Abolish all racial injustice.

Actual motivation: Inflame racial division, divide neighbor against neighbor to weaken society, with all eyes looking to government for a solution, which never comes.

Welfare

Stated motivation: Lift people out of poverty.

Actual motivation: Destroy the family, particularly the strength of the family, the father, and make women and children the wards of benevolent government. Expand poverty and economic slavery. Expand the police state and prison industry.

Education

Stated motivation: Produce equal educational outcomes for all children.

Actual motivation: Breed morons who don’t know math and won’t recognize when government is conning them, who will blindly support government growth.

Continuous Crises

Stated motivation: We’re government and we’re here to help.

Actual motivation: Justify infinite Fed spending which obviates the need for a federal budget. Money flows freely and without restriction, funding government cronies, the military industrial complex, and dark budgets all over the government, all without opposition from the public.

Rahm Emanuel’s quip about not letting a crisis go to waste exposes this government’s machinery behind their motivation. Crises are tickets to bigger government. This template matches most every government action during our lifetime. The Vietnam war, the Iraq wars, the Afghanistan war, the war on terror, the war on drugs, the war on the war on drugs, the war on illegal aliens, the war on the war on illegal aliens, infrastructure spending, pandemics, every recession or depression, shovel ready jobs, socialized medicine, … It’s nigh impossible to name a government action that does not fit with the government-growth-through-crisis method. I can’t. Can you?

This realization is a pretty powerful tool to illustrate the evil of liberal government to liberals, though I don’t use that e-word. Once you light up their (excuse the term) mind with this possibility, that everything government does has the purpose of growing government, even a slightly thinking person will see it everywhere. Whether it’s driving by the welfare housing projects, watching DOT workers lean on their shovels, or seeing homeless people camping under a bridge, every act of government can be traced back to this single motivation. In fact, every problem you can name is an excuse to vote for bigger government to solve that very problem, which incidentally never goes away and never gets better.

It’s like trying to unhear a Beatles tune that graces your ears on your morning drive to work. You’ll be whistling that thing in the shower three weeks from now. That’s why I cannot stand the Beatles! Their songs are just too catchy. (Do I know how to tee up a commentary tornado, or what? And I despise disco.)

Some may say, “Government is broken.” It’s not broken. Government is doing exactly what socialist government intends to do, grow like cancer. Government is healthy and strong and expanding like a malignant tumor. Government may not be on the Constitution’s mission, but it is certainly not broken and only has a different mission, one that is hateful to freedom. And getting worse.

Now that government has tapped into an unlimited stream of cash through the corrupt Fed’s QE forever and bond buying, well, it’s like a tumor sucking on our collective jugular vein. “Feed me, Seymore!”

Since 1973, Congress has passed into law over 12,700 bills. That’s five bills per week for the past 48 years! The 57 state legislatures are just as bad. Why do we need a new federal government bill every working day of the week? Is life in the US that bad? Do we have that many problems that need to be addressed? The simple answer is no. Rather, this continuous flood of legislation only serves to solidify government’s control and power and growth.

Those are the motives of government, but what about our motives? If our motives as citizens are to gain as much money and power as we can while trampling everyone who gets in our way, we’re not any better than our government slavers. In fact, those motives with a government title and business card got us where we are.

The conservatives I respect have a different set of motives. Certainly they are looking out for their families first, but right behind they look out for their neighbors and community. They are motivated by patriotism and love of country. They are motivated by heroism throughout our history. They champion what’s right, encourage the underdog, cheer accomplishment, and mentor their juniors. They look at a failure as fuel for future success. They take care of their parents, shepherd their children, and love their spouses. And they are motivated by freedom, to protect and defend it from those who would enslave us all.

But life does have a way of slipping less than noble motives into our hearts from time to time, usually while we are under pressure. There’s a Bible verse that helps me recalibrate in such times, Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” We commonly read that to mean that the Lord will give us the things our hearts desire. But I urge you to read it differently, that he will literally put new desires into our hearts. My heart contains stupid, foolish, and destructive desires, as is the plight of most people, and most times I don’t even realize my error. How the Lord will work, however, when we take delight in him and ask him to remove our desires and replace them with his! That is, change our motivations to his motivations. Ponder this for a while tonight in the silence. It’s something he longs to do, and when you come into alignment with his will in your life, he moves ahead at flank speed!

The world calls me a fool when I dream of a day when even a good fraction of men and women have Godly motivations, and when I envision the country we could have as a result. We have many lessons to learn in the interim. Pray that prayer, and see what he will do. I dare you!

The government goons might be intricate in their plans and actions, but their motivations are simple and clear. You and I, conservative, are in the way of the socialist stupitopia they are growing. They are turning their attention to us, now with cancel culture and censorship, but soon with property confiscation and incarceration. That is, unless we can become strong enough in our communities to weather their attack, or turn them back, or go on offense and win!

You now see clearly. Cancer does not stop willingly. The tumor has to be cut away from the vein.

Expose their motivation. Cause a stampede to freedom. Yell Socialism! in a crowded America.

socialism…I saw an ad for Obamacare on TV last night. The majority of users pay $10.00 a month. What does Blue Cross/ Blue Shield charge? A large amount of the income for hospitals comes from the Government so they are encouraged to accept Obamacare – We’re the Government, Or Else. Isn’t this National health care?
Taxpayers have to buy expensive insurance while everyone else gets government subsidized insurance. Isn’t this pure socialism, almost free health care subsided by the taxpayers?

That’s a real good deal: $10/mo; what are the qualifications to get that deal? BC&BS probably charge about $1,000-2000 / mo.

The government is not your friend. The government exists to nourish and grow itself. Duh! Seems like a “water is wet” revelation.

Yet, here is the C-R-A-A-A-Z-Y thing ….. I daresay MILLIONS of Americans don’t even understand that! So, just add that to your “Why we are doomed” list! Because, we are. I think.

But about 150,000,000 people (evidently not all actually voted) must be getting some government freebies and that is all they want to understand, except gimme more free shit and I’ll actually vote (or even vote more times) each election.

The problem with this article is he is focussing on Democrat/Socialist governments.
The same applies to the other side of the coin.
The REAL problem is that we give these crooks and Morans authority to fuck with us and our lives.
The Founding Fathers all gave us God given equal rights and the right to bear arms and then gave to Congress the right to quash insurrectionists.
No Government has God given or any other authority apart from that which we give it.
I can’t do it on my own.

Government size is not growing out of its lust for size, its growing out out of an incompetence of the people it hires, and unable to fire due to everyone being incompetent. No private sector company would hire these people, there for they get a job at a government, that pays a lot lower than private sector. This is the primary reason why US government is so incompetent with its programs. On top of that you do get psychopaths ride to the top, they are more competent than the average dumb ass they hire.

Psychopaths at the top, yes, they are
compitent and vile, worker ants, the ones that make it happen, not so much. Hence there are perpetual openings in departments to hire additional people since the existing ones won’t/cant handle the load of papework/tasks. Psychopaths use useless fucks at the bottom as a justification for hiring additional people, increase in their pay/power for supervising additional incompetent personnel.

Government must not be in charge of ANYTHING, since people they hire are literal rejects from performace based society.

Stop thinking that ALL people are compitent or smart. Stop thinking that government hires top talent and this reality of socialist/communist taking over of the government beurocracy will start making sense. Talent/competence will always rise to the top in a private sector. Losers/envy incompetence will always work at a lower level of pay/demands/competence, aka government.

Leadership 101 you are only able to mentor/recruit talent at a level that is lower than you are.

Look st the breakdown of an IQ in any country. Then look at an IQ of private company owners and of the people that run government of the same country.

There is one thing that is critical in a successful small company ownership that will be a fortune 500 company that is no longer present in a mature 500 company or the government. Can you guess what it is?

You’re showing an exception to the rule trying to justify your own ego/existence.

Governments always pays lower compatible to private sector. They mitigate it by offering retirement payments stolen from future production/generation, to a useless human being. Having that power/ability does NOT make their workers better than higher performing private sector. They are always able to do it at a point of the gun, robbing productivity/achievement from private sector. Government is a leach/thief of the productive.

Give me their job description and I’ll show you an exact private sector job that pays a whole lot more.

My wife works for .gov. She gets paid an amount that I pay to my new hires at a lower level. I would NEVER hire my wife or any of her co-workers, even though I love her to death. Governments hire a different type of people. The people they hire are UNABLE to make it in private sector, PERIOD.

Thanks for this thoughtful essay. This passage really stood out to me, because as I re-read the Good Book, I am finding new meaning it. I would have read it the way you did, because that is my experience. I am finding that I either lacked the wisdom to understand what I read before, or I was led astray by listening to what other thought about some passage or book. It really is just chalk full of wisdom that helps bring what I would call “peace”, because that path is without internal resistance. It brings clarity. Happiness is an emotion, not a state, so that is the wrong word, but it provides the space to love and that does bring more opportunities for happiness.

I have railed against this society since I was young, because I noticed that people don’t understand why they do what they do. How could that be? Somebody at some point must have had an idea. And now I learned that it was all there all along, but people closed their heart and minds to it for some reason. Maybe because America has had such a long history of heretical sects that do not bear good fruit.

With Christianity everyone can “win” through individual effort. This concept doesn’t follow any ideology I know. Perhaps that is why men have created those other ideologies. I agree with your conclusion that nothing matters until enough people come around to Truth. The Adversary seduces with similar rewards, but those are all selfish and what is the expletive point of that kind of Freedom if there is no Love? So maybe Evangelism has to do with your family, neighbors, and friends and not a bunch of brown people in the third world.

Wtf are you talking about?

There are people dumb enough to sell their talents for a paycheck/retirement, and there are people that use their talent to be at the top of income chain.

You have a daughter? Guess who’s dick she’s sucking for her rent or car/education loan payment? You have a wife, while not being able to satisfy her or her daughters financial/emotional needs?

You do know that there are people that make as much money per hour/month that you make in a year/10 years?

You do know that “faith” doesn’t pay bills or provide the lifestyle of the famous?

You are aware that you being happy with the tiny scraps from the smart and powerful does NOT defy the rest of the humanity?

I’ve done both and satisfaction in life beats income on a scale that is hard to comprehend unless you have that experience.

I think the most significant part of the preamble was the phrase” pursuit of happiness”, not the attainment of it. Happiness, as it was said above, is an emotion, not a state.

The meaningful part of life is the experience, not the rewards, more journey, less destination. That is the path to true satisfaction.

If your church bends a knee in any way to the government, you’re in a wrong church, if you wish to follow Christ.

Christ said: sell your cloack and buy a sword.
Christ overturned tables of money changers.
Christ said: give to Roman’s whats due to them.

What was due to them was not obedience.
