I’ve been following kimgary’s videos for a while, fascinated by the complete deterioration of what was once a truly beautiful city.
However, I’ve learned that most of the country’s large cities have shithole neighborhoods in them.

i dunno but ive seen the same in other cities, in the areas where junkies etc hang around, you seem to see a fair share of them all like that bent over staring at their feet, sometimes shuffling around bent over like that. must be something to do with whatever shit theyre high on. i only noticed this phenomenon in the past 3 years, so maybe its some new brew ? or maybe i just dont spend a lot of time in those parts of town and only noticed when i took a job that had me going through there every day.

I do correctional medicine and am a believer. I will share my opinion: merciful euthanization on third arrest after two failed detox and rehab protocols.
They CANNOT be released and we maintain a viable society and a viable society cannot continue to support:
1) firefighters/ems providing endless narcan resuscitation calls
2) cops to arrest, detain, transport
3) hospital and ambulance service for free
4) jail staff, supply, meds, food, contracts
5) courts, judges, admin, bail bonds
6) violent and property crime costs
Something has to be done, but nothing will until full collapse.

If the government was not corrupt, actually cared about the people, and wasn’t totally broke:
Tend to the truly mentally ill first. Psychiatric hospitals for the chronic and stabilize the acute.
For the broken: open up facilities, in a rural environment, where shelter and food can be provided and some light rehabilitation. Those able to can work in public work projects – cleaning up is the first order.
Veterans need to go to a veterans facility to dry out; get rehabilitated; find some work.
Criminals require incarceration or deep coal mines. Start digging. Keep digging.
Take care of Americans and deport any illegals as there is no room or money for them.
Barring Auntie’s pipe dream; the concentration camp model is what the B3RG* has in mind to solve the filthy Human problem.
The issue will be their definition of who the filthy humans are versus our definition. They probably have us in mind. One may foresee human wave attacks of these walking dead against us with the promise of endless free drugs just behind our defenses.

I just said this very thing to my youngest son today when he asked me about it.
I said back in January that there were three groups that would serve as a bellwether of any pandemic; the homeless, prisons and Africa.
I stand by my initial observation since none of those populations weren’t affected in the slightest.
I said the homeless and grocery store clerks.
Conceivably, one could control prisons, since they are controlled and isolated environments, anyway.
Africa, could have natural immunities, or just such bad reporting that we would not know of it. Or, medical organizations would report everything as covid in order to get funding, just like they did with Aids. So it’d be hard to tell.
But the homeless ain’t washing hands, masking up, or social distancing. Plus they have lotsa co-morbidities, undiagnosed illnesses, and they eat out of garbage cans. So yeah, the homeless would be wiped out.
I suggest grocery store clerks because everyone has to eat, whether you are sick with covid or not. Even if you are sick, you go to the store to get food and meds. Plus, the clerks handle money and goods that have been touched by the general public. On top of that, they interact with maybe 90+ people, maybe a lot more, in a typical shift (assuming a minimum 5 minute check-out time per customer – we all know that could be a lot shorter, with a lot more customer contacts in a shift.) Also, they’d interact with other clerks who have their own exposure. A mask and a square of plexiglass ain’t gonna help.
Bug, my understanding of the low infection/death count in Africa is due to the already high use of hydroxycloroquine to keep malaria at bay.
I gave up about halfway as seemed the filming was looping from different angles of same places,recognized enough to realize 2nd drive by.

One “problem” is that unlike Europe, the USA has never been bombed to shit. Dresden, for example, is really only about 70 years old. They built it back nicer. Philadelphia is hundreds of years old … and it shows; old, tired, and dilapidated even in the best of recent times.
Stuck – lots of cities in Western Europe that were not heavily bombed. And none that I have ever seen look like the US shitholes, save maybe for Paris, where there are some areas of supershitholeness.

I was born 70 years ago and grew up in Philly. We were not well off. Our family could not afford a home or rent, therefore we lived with my immigrant grandparents. We may have been poor, but we did not lack pride. On our block 0f 50 row homes, our grandmothers and mothers would sweep the sidewalk and scrub the stairs. They did not want the dirt from the street entering our homes. We were far from wealthy, but my mother would starch and iron my clothes for school. They were not educated, but my parents and grandparents were smart enough to know that depending on the state for assistance was weakness that led to a reduction in character and responsibility. No one graduated high school, but all the children were encouraged to respect the benefits of education and to ‘study hard’. We were taught lessons from our grandparents: “A man that does not take care of his family is not a real man. If you walk with the lame, you develop a limp. After the ship has sunk, everyone knows how she could have been saved.” All this and more has vanished. The saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” has been fulfilled. Whatever social ills we subsidize we get more of. All the social programs, the trillions of dollars spent are truly meaningless. As we constantly lower the bar of expectations of our ‘leaders’, we lower the bar of expectaions for ourselves. Clinton and interns, Bush and wars, the stupidity of Obama (You didn’t build that business). The lack of class by Trump. The surreal election of a incompetent, corrupt, mentally challenged Joe Biden. Alo these losers reflect who we are. I grew up in Newark Nj in the late 50’s / early 60’s. Believe me, by then it was no shining city on the hill. But, our immigrant neighborhood of many nationalities (mostly European) did the same exact thing … sweeping the streets (literally), etc. Pride! We were all poor. But, too proud to live like animals.

Someday, if you are so inclined, I’d be interested in your perspective of the Australian aboriginal culture, as opposed to non-aboriginal black culture in the “States”.

They have no understanding of private property, for instance, and seem incapable of forward thinking as we know it. They are adapted to living in a very hostile environment as hunter gatherers, but are entirely incapable of anything else. When exposed to the modern world, they become entangled in drugs and alcohol. They will be unable to exist in the modern world and will eventually be cross bred out of existence as a result. It is inevitable in my opinion. Sort of like how Neanderthal disappeared.
Non-aboriginal blacks are leaps and bounds more capable of surviving in a modern world than are Australian aboriginals, as amazing as that seems. The average black is to the aboriginal as Einstein is to the average black. The aboriginal really did evolve so as to survive in a brutally harsh environment, but with no mental abilities beyond that.

However, your words: those who are “more capable of surviving in a modern world”, is depressing if only because, to use an analogy, that is akin to dividing by zero. Dividing by zero is infinity ( a null set). It is also, depressing because that notion is celebrated and used as a point of division that seems to elude so many.

I got hooked on these last spring.
