But I would temper what you have written with what this pilot has said because:
1. He has put it all on the line Today, while he may do something differently in the future, today he has taken the correct stand. His stand today, may cost him his occupation, and severely hurt him financially. I think that courage deserves credit.
2. He says he is waiting on the proof, OK, while I think the knowledge is available now, I can accept he needs some time to catch up. What he is doing today is right.
3. While I don’t know this, and it is a challenge to one of your points, perhaps his statement that he is waiting on proof, is a negotiation with Quantas, to force them to provide the unprovidable and unavailable documentation of the safety and efficacy of the injection. I’m retired, so I can tell the grocery store to fuck-off, I can tell REI to fuck-off, but it’s a little different to tell your employer, specifically a specialized employer to fuck-off. May be he is leaving a little room for Quantas to work with him, but again, he is making a stand today and I give him credit.
I give him credit. Maybe my comment sounded too harsh against that pilot specifically; it was meant to be more generally applicable to those who seem willing to bargain away their rights and freedom under the right circumstances.
That pilot is more courageous and has 10,000% more character an integrity than (at the very least) more than half of the whole western world. So, credit where credit is due.
However, the point remains that those who will sell their birthright just as soon as the studies are in (or it gets full approval; or this exemption or that; or fill in the blank) are really helping to sell my birthright as well. Because it is good to know I can hit at 1100m. I would likely never take a shot past 600m for bipedal game. We have some very open stretches of land in my area where you can glass several clicks so area denial is always a good thought if you have a rifle that can reach out.

Our area has been blanketed with smoke for a few weeks now. I alerted friends in healthcare a couple weeks back to brace for an earlier start to an ADE surge than 9/15 when our local sunlight spectrum loses effective UV-B for Vit D synthesis.
Well, as of today and despite a claim of 50% vaxxxed population, the local hospital is completely maxed out. They are within a day or two of triage-ing people for admittance.
1) They are short of staff due to nurse burnout last winter and more recent vaxxx mandates that a bunch in response said “Fxck it!” and quit.
2) Even with reduced bed capacity from staff reductions, they cannot source enough oxygen for the beds that they do have.

I agree that we are on the path you are describing, Perfessor, but I don’t think that most here have knowledge of the bed capacity and oxygen supply of the local hospital. The bed capacity is easily manipulated anyways, given that a “hospital bed” is not just a piece of furniture to sleep in, but also requires the staffing to be an “available bed”. Therefore, with staff quitting, the total number of available beds in many hospitals will likely shrink soon, thereby obfuscating how bad the situation with actual sick people is in the hospital.
Thus the high % of occupancy they are reporting on the TV news.

Please re-read my post for content. You will see that I addressed “furniture” versus “Staffed beds”.
I do take your point that many here might not be dialed into the difference though even as it relates to their local community. My best guess is perhaps a 3-5 day lag between the time it hits a regional hospital and the time it is finally “news”, whether via formal or informal avenues.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect, at this point, is lack of available oxygen for a hospital already reduced from its “furniture” by 20% owing to lack of staff. This has NEVER happened here before. And, current expectation is that the number of staffed beds will continue to decline as more workers refuse the whax mandate.
We are just north of the 45th parallel so maybe general seasonality of the UV-B loss won’t be complete in the US until late October.
In any event, my shopping list tomorrow includes a bunch of hazmat suits and replacement filters for my respirator. Somebody is going to have to help move bodies in the near future…and with the whxed nature of the FD/EMT in the area, it is unlikely they will be on the job…even if they are still breathing.

I cannot be absolutely sure but those numbers appear to me to be counting beds available as “furniture” as opposed to “staffed beds” in which patients can be rendered care.
We shall see. From the earliest developing data, a large-scale collapse of hospital and urgent care services is a high probability event between Thanksgiving and Christmas at the latest. I do not know the demographic issues on a regional basis well enough to say that the crash will be uniform.
The only way any of their evident panic makes sense is if you consider their objective is to kill enough of us to limit citizen pushback.
IMHO, they have not hit their desired targets for genpop reduction.

A friend’s wife had to wait overnight in the emergency room for a bed to open up in ICU. I am pretty sure they are short staffed, but do not know that for a fact.
Scientific supplies are getting scarce, and I assume that will extend to medical supplies too.
Wait times are increasing for appointments.
Our doctor neighbor moved, so I can’t ask him how the ER is doing, but I will ask when I see them again.
The VA is a ghost hospital, but I am still being seen after jumping through more hoops and longer wait times. 4 weeks for an acute knee injury. My wife is waiting 3 months to be seen for a common prescription on the civilian side.
VA here has recently changed a shit ton of policies and procedures and none of them work.
Friend of ours just turned 50 and has screening colonoscopy scheduled next week. I told him that it was a good idea to get it over with soon, before routine procedures like that are suspended again. Has to get Covid test 48 hours prior and then self isolate at home between test and procedure. Told him to not leave prep solution on the kitchen table for anyone to confuse with lemonade (hat tip).
