Last Monday during ‘Indigenous Peoples Day’, formerly known as Columbus Day, the statue of Andrew Jackson in Washington DC’s Lafayette Park was vandalized by activists with a warning message for everyone:
“Expect Us”
This is fascinating to me, considering that Lafayette Park is situated directly north of the White House, which is currently occupied by the ‘wokest’, most culturally progressive administration in history.
The federal government has stood on the sidelines cheering cancel culture, the de-gendering of our vocabulary, and ‘mostly peaceful’ protests. They’ve taken every opportunity to bend the knee and subordinate itself to the whims of the Twitter mob.
And yet apparently all of that is still not enough. So activists left this warning message, right in the White House’s backyard: Expect Us.
This is supposed to be intimidating. They want us to fear them as some menacing threat. But that’s the wrong way to look at it.
Yes, we expect you. You’ve made it quite clear that we should expect you.
We expect that your entire position will remain hilariously paradoxical– like how you believe Dr. Seuss is racist, but you tolerate the Chinese Communist Party’s ethnic violence.
And because your position is so comically absurd, we expect that you will continue to engage in attention-seeking criminal temper tantrums, including vandalism, arson, data theft, grand larceny, and assault.
We expect you will be protected by the media, which ignores your violent criminality and sings the praises of your moral righteousness.
We expect that, since your ideas cannot hold up to logic or rational debate, you will continue to demand suppression and censorship of any intellectual dissent.
We expect you to keep reinventing history, science, and even the English language, and to jam it all down everyone’s throats.
We expect you to indoctrinate children into your ideology through woke school curricula, peer pressure, and social media intolerance.
We expect you to try ruining the lives of anyone who opposes you.
Finally, we expect you to continue finding ridiculous reasons to be offended and outraged no matter how much your cause is advanced.
Yes, we expect all of that. But we’re not going to live in fear of it.
That’s what they want. They want you to be terrified and intimidated, that you’ll bend the knee and adopt the rituals and Newspeak of their movement, because you’re afraid.
But this is the entire point of having a Plan B: if you’re in a position of strength, you don’t have to be afraid.
This same reasoning applies to the broader challenges facing the world.
Fiscal woes are plaguing nearly every Western government; we keep seeing record high deficits and spending bonanzas.
Government debt levels keep soaring to record highs. In the United States, spending keeps climbing as politicians insist that their proposed multi-trillion dollar entitlement programs “cost nothing”.
This is one of the most ridiculous assertions that a human being could possibly make.
But it’s not surprising given that they also say things like the southern border is secure. The Afghanistan withdrawal was a success. An attack on Anthony Fauci is an attack on science itself. (Le science, c’est moi!)
They claim they want to tax the rich. But then they want to give the IRS access to the most intimate details of any bank account or transfer exceeding a mere $600.
The logical conundrums are endless.
But all of this ultimately ends up with more spending, more regulation, more bureaucracy, and higher taxes– all of which make the country less prosperous and less competitive.
It’s also been a huge factor driving inflation higher.
In fact this current episode of inflation is probably the best example of extreme government ineptitude across multiple fronts.
For example, inflation has soared in part because of bad public health policy– shutting down businesses, requiring them to operate at reduced capacity under extremely difficult conditions, forcing them to get rid of ‘unclean’ workers.
But inflation is also surging because of bad fiscal policy– endless multi-trillion dollar spending initiatives, including hundreds of billions of dollars paid for people to stay home and NOT work.
Bad labor policy has put unions in control of critical infrastructure (like transportation and port facilities), leading to supply chain bottlenecks.
Bad environmental policy has made it difficult for energy producers to keep pace with demand, causing a spike in fuel prices (which have a substantial impact on most other prices.)
Bad monetary policy has thrown gasoline on this dumpster fire by creating a tidal wave of new money that flooded the economy at a time of extreme labor shortages and supply constraints.
Inflation is the culmination of all of these policy failures and terrible ideas. And that’s why it’s not likely to improve anytime soon.
Inflation aside, people also have to contend with the obvious loss of US primacy on the world’s stage– the constant debt ceiling debacles, the utter humiliation in Afghanistan, the financial gutting of the US military (especially the Navy) at a time when China’s is on the rise.
Crime rates are soaring at home… yet the government is more concerned about investigating parents who don’t want their children to be brainwashed with Critical Race Theory and erotic woke literature in school.
And as we discussed earlier in this missive, cancel culture is a major force, and activists have no qualms violating the law in order to advance their hate-fueled fanaticism.
Obviously these trends are all extremely concerning, especially since they’re not going away.
Western civilization is in for a bumpy ride. And a lot of people are justifiably afraid… for themselves, their jobs, their children.
It’s difficult to watch your country decline so rapidly in front of your very eyes.
But it’s also important to step back, look at the situation objectively, and recognize that you’re going to be OK.
History is full of episodes of social and economic turmoil, and what’s happening now is not unique.
This is not a time for fear, or to adopt a bunker mentality and hide from the world.
Fear is a terrible emotion that causes human beings to make destructive, irrational decisions.
Rather, this is a time for clear thinking and deliberate, rational decision-making.
That’s what a Plan B is all about; it’s not for hiding in a bunker, but rather how to engage with the world from a position of strength.
Yes, we expect inflation to grind and deficits to rise. We expect higher taxes and more bureaucracy. We expect more public health paranoia and debt ceiling fiascos.
We even “expect” these activist/criminals, just like they’re warning us.
But it’s precisely because we expect these threats that we can plan for them.

Plan B…been working on that. There will always be tyrants who impact our freedoms, but hoping we can find pockets still in the US where we can live unharmed for the most part. It will take thinking outside the box though. My small town/community is just that. I read all this stuff, then go out in the world and it seems no one knows anything about covid. There is no fear where I live. Glad I found that kind of community.
However, I do VERY much miss Colorado. Not the people or the politics. But, it was home. I miss the mountains, the beauty, and the climate. I have a lot of anger for being pushed out of there. Have you ever noticed these radicals get the most beautiful parts of the country? I’m tempted to say that it’s not fair, but that really goes against what I tell people everyday…Life is not fair! Deal with it.
So you identify as Amish? Just kidding. We put up with it very temporarily here. The only place still participating at all is the hospitals and affiliated doctors. They, unfortunately, won’t make a stand.

Part of me sometimes wonder if I can just put up with the communism and move back to CO. But, then I come to my senses…I would end up in jail permanently if I moved back. I’m too much of a hothead. Probably good to stay away, since I like freedom and all.
I DO really love the people in my town…and that says a lot as I don’t care much for people most of the time. But, they are really good people here who will have my back no matter what. I don’t doubt that for a second.
You sound like me as far as the “hot head” part goes. I can’t count the number of times I’ve flirted with going to jail by standing up against some outrageous new ordinance that violates citizens’ rights, or confronted Islamic, Antifa and Communist activists “protesting” in our streets.
I just imagine the days ahead are going to be longer still and rife with a significant increase in civil upheaval, especially as the 2022 election draws closer. And let’s not even suggest that 2024 will see smooth sailing.

Well…I got some crazy stories from 2020 in CO. I finally realized it probably was not going to be safe there with my attitude. One story is of a friend whose brother was shot and killed downtown Denver for trying to stand up and protect the streets and businesses. That was a HUGE wake-up call. I have a lot of anger about that.
I’m sure you know that not all of the beautiful state of CO is as batshit crazy as Denver/Boulder. if I could talk the wife into it, I would move to Georgetown in a heartbeat and wake up to the purple mountain’s majesty every single day.
TN Patriot…have you been back in awhile? The good people are leaving quickly. Even conservative counties have been infiltrated…Douglas County is completely overrun with commies. Those beautiful mountain towns? Too many radicals for anyone to make a difference at this point.
I got into multiple verbal confrontations in those towns…on hiking trails…outside, in the great outdoors…for not wearing a mask!
The Governor and Secretary of State are completely corrupt. I worked on an election fraud issue for a local judge whose opponent was backed by Soros money. There is absolute zero hope to win any election there.
They’re trying to re-district the congressional map to ensure rural counties will not be represented in the future. Denver/Boulder will control the whole state.
I’m telling ya, CO is completely lost. I would have NEVER left if I felt there was any hope. DON’T even think about moving there. Coming from TN, right? I think you’d be miserable there. Just my two cents.
The only reason I would move there are kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. We go up every few months to visit and I usually get to spend at least one day in the mountains. I am not confrontational, but I do not put up with their BS either. I have only been required to mask up one time while there and never in the mountain towns.
I think I give the appearance that I am easy to push around. They quickly find out that I’m actually pretty confrontational when necessary. I don’t know how you haven’t had an issue with the masks. I’ve had tons of problems with that when I was there…then again, I think I look like someone who can be pushed around…I don’t know.
I think a better plan is to get your family to move your way…TN. But, if you do ever move there…let this serve as the record that I told ya so! And, for heaven’s sake…make sure your grandkids are not in school there! TRUST ME!
Good and fine Americans must stop allowing the Marxists to [push] them out of anywhere. We patriots, whether conservatives or independents, have every much right to all parts of America, as they do — MORE if the truth is properly stated.

My father was born out west and raised in South Eastern Colorado. Many of my BEST earliest childhood memories are from the region. As I grew to adulthood, I often visited Baca County, and throughout the years, spent many a fine day in places such as Campo, Pueblo, Durango, Crested Butte, Trinidad, Golden, Aspen, Winter Park and the Arapahoe Ski slopes.
Yes Abigail … I know exactly how You feel. It’s been awful for me to see Colorado go from a strong conservative state to a full blown leftist state in just a few short decades. I don’t know Your reasoning, but I suspect many factors played into Your own decision to finally leave, one of which I suspect was the lack of support and fellow conservatives willing to stand alongside you.
The leftists just keep rolling like a horde of locusts, always attacking and regrouping and attacking on all levels and throwing every piece of incredibly asinine proposed legislation into the process to continually keep conservatives on the defensive. That’s where conservatives made their error; they should never have stayed so much on the defensive and they should have been more proactive in the cause of defending, protecting and securing one’s property, life and liberty.
My community used to be conservative, but it has changed drastically since 1980, despite my best efforts and those of others, largely due to the influence of the local university which hosts thousands of out of state LIBERAL students, who are allowed to establish residency after 6 months and vote in our local elections; it makes for a helluva battle.
I’m happy You have found a decent substitute. But You’re absolutely right. Colorado holds some of the most Amazing and BEAUTIFUL sights anyone will ever view. And if one drives up into the mountains, they shouldn’t be surprised when a massive Bull Elk steps out in front of their car to check the road for the twenty or thirty more that will soon appear behind him.

Thanks, J Smith. All those places you listed definitely makes me homesick. Especially now that it’s fall. CO has an amazing fall season. I hope to move back someday, but not sure if it will ever be a possibility. At this point, there is no way I can afford to live there. Land is outrageously expensive there.

I sympathize – and very much miss Washington. While part of the Left Coast, it was for many years a bit more realistic in its policies, as compared to Oregon and California.
The absence of an income tax was nice, but over the last 15 years the Seattlites and their hangers-on have managed to enact the highest estate taxes in the USA, and have begun to impose ‘common-sense gun safety measures’ (which the legislature refused to enact) by way of referendum.
The Covid policies of the smarmy nit-wit Jay Inslee were the last straw for me. That, and my only son’s taking a job in Fort Lauderdale….

Don’t shoot till you see the neck tattoo and just aim slightly higher. One thing about tattoos is that sometimes they use them to identify a body like George Custer’s brother Tom. Said he was pounded by the Natives so much by stones he was flat as a pancake.
If You hit them in the neck with double ott buck shot, the shock to their brain alone will probably kill them before they bleed out all over the place.
Back in 1974, a friend of mine got into what should have been a cut and dried fight where he beat a guy in a fair fight, without actually hurting him too badly. But the guy was a an evil snake, and he waited outside for my friend, James.
When James stepped outside at the end of the evening, Dwight shot him in the back five times with a .38, and James spun and fired off six shots from a .22 magnum, missing with every shot but the one that hit Dwight in his jugular vein and killed him.
James walked three blocks before he collapsed, and he subsequently spent the next two months in the hospital. But he lived to tell the tale.

I grew up near a county line in Tennessee in the 70s where there was only a couple of policemen and a ton of criminals who moved there precisely because of the absence of “law”. It turned out to be a real education, as I saw men sliced, diced, gutted and shot more times than I can count.

Union wages and benefits built a huge percentage of what was once a thriving middle class tax base !
That tax base bought homes built schools and infrastructure paid civil servants (government employees) well with actually better wages and benefits in the long run .

We watch our world crumble before our very eyes.

Do they even care? I think not, for they know it is all either going to soon come tumbling down like the house of cards it is, or they won’t be living to see the end of the feast at the trough and the slaughter of the hogs, when the dark winter is upon America and the world.
Meanwhile, the propaganda machine rolls on just as fast as the printing presses at the Federal Reserve Bank.
The Covid Hoax continues as Dr. Anthony Fauci continues with his lies and fronting for the elites. Elites who, it should be noted, would be kings of the world under whatever system they believe they can sell to the ignorant madding masses. Why do they have such a belief? Because the masses have sold their individual liberty, their inalienable God-given rights, and their very soul to the Devil, just so they may be “taken care of” by the Leviathan and the tyrants.
Oh yes. The looters, takers, thieves in broad daylight, laughing and smiling at the great heist they are getting away with to the detriment of good and decent Americans, are certainly going to “be taken care of” by the evil system they’ve created. The subdued populace? Not so much.
From the first day, Evil has sought Man’s death and Adam and Eve blindly fell under its spell. In so doing, they set in motion all we witness and battle against today. And despite the knowledge that the forces of Good, those faithful believers in Jesus Christ, win in the end, it doesn’t make life in the here and now too much more bearable as we suffer an ever more increasing and advancing tyranny around the world, even what used to be known as “the Free World.”
Life has become an everyday battle for most people. Just navigating the “new rules,” such as the illegal mandates and executive orders, is a struggle. And while we may make it through each day by taking pleasure in the simplest of things, from a bluebird chirping on a tree limb outside our kitchen window, the sunrise or the cute little neighborhood fox running down our street in the moonlight, we get no pleasure and only misery of heart and mind from being put upon and abused by the tyrants who currently hold the reins of power.
We worry for our children and how they might survive the idiocy of an energy policy that works to destroy conventional automobiles and diesel trucks and tractors before anything viable is in place to replace them and fill the void created by “green” energy nonsense. Most serious is the void left by attacking fracking, new drilling, and coal, without even considering expanding the clean energy of the highly efficient and reliable nuclear industry.
The psychopathic monsters pushing this ideology of death don’t really care how much ordinary Americans or people elsewhere around the world are hurt by their policies since they never intended on being held to the same standard themselves. They’re orever pressing forward with “rules for thee, but not for me.” Just look at former Vice-President Al Gore’s 10,000 square feet mansion regularly lit up like a Christmas tree. Or take a peek at Special Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry regularly jet-setting around the globe in a private jet, whose twelve cars, two yachts, and six homes most assuredly have an exponentially larger “carbon foot-print” than my little ol’ ten-speed English racer bicycle, ’98 Mercury and three-bedroom ranch house. But I’m the bad guy because I don’t genuflect before the altar of “green” energy.
And as if this isn’t enough for the average, everyday normal American family to have to worry over, we see our borders opened wide for any and all comers. Afghan terrorists, Haitian gang members, Mexican cartels, and even Chinese communist spies, or any and every other enemy of America, coming and going at will by way of South America and the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama.
The enemies from within are doing the dirty work for America’s enemies, as they have allowed the continuation of the theft of intellectual property and technology. So bad has the problem gotten that we recently witnessed a significant juncture in history with China’s successful test of a new hypersonic missile, one against which America has no defense.
Ah yes. Good times ahead for all.
And the hits and the misery index just keeps on coming and climbing higher, as everything under the sun is jumping in price, anywhere from a ten percent increase for milk and bacon to a forty-five percent increase for fuel oil and gasoline. Used cars are up a whopping twenty-four percent, and stagnation is on its way.
If Americans survive the Idiots in the White House, Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court over the next few years, we might just stand a chance at remaining free. However, we must maneuver over obstacle courses filled with pitfalls, booby-traps, and traitors to do so. Even staying alive will be a real battle, as we will find ourselves playing “Hurry-up and Catch-up” to counter and neutralize the current edge China has gained and to restore our domestic economy.
Life isn’t perfect. But it’s damned tough when one is crippled on all fronts by Fat Ass Know-nothing Bureaucrats, Yes Men, Useful Idiots, and Purposeful Traitors. It’s damned tough, when one could find one’s way out of the tunnel and into the light, but for communists intent on keeping everybody driven down into “equality” in the common denominator of poverty for all, as serfs cowed and submissive to the Super State.
At a time when the mechanisms of government that were designed as checks and balances on such overreaches of power and means to safeguard our freedom and liberty no longer seem to be working as intended, ‘We the People’ — for whoever that designates — are left with very few options these days, and corrupt men declare themselves to be the arbiter of truth and what is “law” without comment or proper public discourse. The result is a republic being hacked away at by Marxist and Maoist Cancel Culture radicals. Those radicals will not rest until America is destroyed. Even now, they are successfully removing the statue of Thomas Jefferson from the chambers of the New York City Council, which opens the door to every single Founding Father who owned slaves to be erased from American history, including George Washington.
Say “Good-Bye” to the Washington Monument and say “Good-Bye” to everybody’s freedom and liberty if freedom-loving Americans don’t start doing a whole hell of a lot more to stop these fascists and communists than they have done to date. Freedom comes at a cost and nobody ever promised the fight to remain free would be an easy road.
But if You’re “A’OK” with Biden and Marx Inc and all that portends for America’s future and the statue of liberty in the country generations from now, I suppose you can join in the chorus as you and your ilk sing “let them eat cake” while an ever-increasing number of Americans go onto the public welfare rolls or simply fall by the wayside in new manmade diseases and starvation. Carry on like there’s no tomorrow and no consequences to follow; do a little dance; sing a little song and get down tonight” and see where you may land in the end.
