That’s because it works. Everyone laughed about the delta scare when it first came out. All it took was a few weeks of repetition to get it rolling.
I think that they jumped the gun a bit on the aliens plot. That didn’t seem to take. It’ll be back once they figure out a better way to market it.
Anyone who reports seeing an alien should be prevented from eating pizza. Problem solved.

I called our local NPR affiliate during a call-in show (which are 95% bogus anyway). The show was about how vaccine hesitant people can be convinced to get vaxxed. I told the screener I wanted to ask 1) What they want to do with people who steadfastly refuse and 2) when they are going to quit their pressure campaign. She was taken aback at the questions (like they’d never even occurred to her) and promptly told me that she didn’t think I needed air time for those, that she would convey my questions to the show hostess. For the remainder of the show my questions were – of course – never raised.
I may call again (they have practically the same goddamn topic every single day) and pretend I want to ask a question that fits their narrative. Then I’d do the ol’ change-a-roo and ask them MY questions: What the fuck are you going with those of us who won’t be convinced to get your shot? And why don’t you give it a fucking rest?
Anybody else see three Pennsylvania judges in Cuyahoga went to their eternal reward after getting vaccinated? They ruled that everybody had to take it recently. The Almighty has some sense of humor.
