Today, we had warm weather, I went outside and fired off 100 rounds for practice.

Are you aware of an immediate and instinctual reaction when you stand on the edge of a very high place, like a cliff or the roof of a building and look down? Even if you are standing still, in fine weather, with a perfectly level and stable surface beneath you, if you look down and see several hundred feet of empty space, there is a reaction. You know, deep down inside, instantly and with zero room for doubt that you should proceed with caution.
Physiognomy- the conformation of the human species- is as recognizable to us as our awareness of heights. Dangerous people, unstable people, the cruel and nasty among us telegraph their imbalance and minacious nature by their appearance.
Let’s face it, if we didn’t have that capacity there’d be a lot less of us around. Humans have got to be other human beings greatest threat. We all get it on a visceral level, we’ve just been conditioned so heavily to ignore it that for some people the hard part is acknowledging that they do perceive it, while the perception itself remains.
Physiognomy is a fancy word. I call it intuition. I can assess a person pretty accurately after being in their presence for only a few minutes.
Not a problem for me either. 15 seconds of this clowns rant and I opted for ball bat therapy to repair his bent mind. He obviously would qualify as somewhat to fully insane. True. When I was a Christian I was taught to love everyone, but they didn’t teach caution at the same time. They were also teaching that true JOY is Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last — that doesn’t end well in a society of predators. I was just a kid, so these philosophies caused me to have to learn life’s lessons the hard way.
When Europe was Christian I think they still knew not to take that other cheek stuff to an extreme, ridiculous end. I don’t know what made it into the lukewarm mess it is now – in both Protestantism and Catholicism. The Eastern Orthodox seem less stupidly pacifist- probably because they have to deal with the Muslims more directly.
Dealing with Muslims is a whole other ballgame.

I empathise with you. I was 35 before I became a believer in Christ so I didn’t run into the problems you related. In the last 37 years since I have been saved I have noticed some of the problem you had. I have always tried to be a trusting person but I started losing that trust when the scamdemic started. Two years into this thing I have changed from trusting to pure skeptic. You must now prove yourself to me before you will get anywhere. I don’t like the remodeled me but that’s all there is.
