A new Covid-19 variant could show immune evasion and enhanced transmissibility, South African scientists warn
(CNN)South Africa’s health minister announced Thursday the discovery of a new coronavirus variant that appears to be spreading rapidly in parts of the country.
“Initially it looked like some cluster outbreaks, but from yesterday, the indication came from our scientists from the Network of Genomic Surveillance that they were observing a new variant,” Minister of Health Joe Phaahla said, stressing that it is currently unclear where the variant — currently dubbed B.1.1.529 — first emerged.
It has so far been detected in South Africa, Botswana and in a traveler to Hong Kong from South Africa, Phaahla added.
During a news briefing, genomic scientists said the variant has an unusually high number of mutations, with more than 30 in the key spike protein — the structure the virus uses to get into the cells they attack.
Professor Tulio de Oliveira, the director of the Center for Epidemic Response and Innovation, said the variant has “many more mutations than we have expected,” adding it is “spreading very fast and we expect to see pressure in the health system in the next few days and weeks.”
He advised the public to “try to avoid super spreading events.”
Officials also expressed concern that the mutation could result in immune evasion and enhanced transmissibility of the virus, but added it is too early to tell what kind of impact the mutations will have on vaccine efficacy. More studies also need to be conducted to understand the clinical severity of the variant compared to previous variants, officials said.
“The full significance of this variant remains uncertain and the best tool we have is still the vaccines,” De Oliveira said. He added that lab studies still need to be carried out to test vaccine and antibody evasion.
UK bans flights from 6 African countries
Also Thursday, UK officials announced that six African countries will be added to England’s travel “red list” after the UK Health Security Agency flagged concern over the variant.
UK’s Health Minister Sajid Javid said flights to the UK from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini and Zimbabwe will be suspended from midday Friday and all six countries will be added to the red list — meaning UK residents and British and Irish nationals arriving home from those points of departure must undergo a 10-day hotel quarantine at their own expense.
“UKHSA is investigating a new variant. More data is needed but we’re taking precautions now,” Javid said, adding the variant identified in South Africa “may be more transmissible” than the Delta strain and that “the vaccines that we currently have may be less effective.”
Javid added the UK “hasn’t detected any of this new variant” in the country so far.
On Friday, South African officials will brief the World Health Organization, which has classified B.1.1.529 as a “variant under monitoring.”
South Africa, like much of the region, has suffered through three significant Covid-19 waves since the pandemic’s start. While the number of new infections across the country is now still relatively low and positivity levels are under 5%, public health officials have already predicted a fourth wave because of a slow vaccine uptake.

No shit there’s new variants! The more people who get vaccinated with “non-sterilizing” vaccines, the more evolutionary pressure is put on the virus. Mutations are inevitable and never ending under such a plan.
At some point in the not too distant future these “vaccines” will be completely useless, offering zero protection due to mutation of the virus in response to those vaccinated. DUH!
If they continue to push “non-sterilizing” vaccines it will never end. The dog chasing its tail is the perfect metaphor.

About this time every winter the flu is going around. Miserable colds also. I watched a video that showed the whole U.S. getting snow in the first week of December. We will see.

No Black Swan. This is the variant Dr. Malone said they would get with mass vaccination. None of the vaccines work on it at all. People who got the vax are less protected than those without or with previous infection. Bad news is this variant appears to evade T-cells.

The mutations are to the S1 sub unit of the spike protein. T cell memory will recognize parts of the entire “virus” as presented for inspection by the dendritic cells. The jabbed, not so much.

We keep a couple of bottles of Ivermectin as well as a supply of horse paste here on the homestead for the critters . My oldest Daughter and her husband came down with the covid just last Friday a week ago . They both took their horse paste after the tests came back positive and by Saturday morning were feeling better . When they took the 2nd dose on Sunday night they both had smell and taste functions back . They are reasonably healthy smokers in their early fifties . Get some ! ” Don’t be skeered ” as the old redneck bumper sticker says .
I just watched a news segment on News Max were the doctor being interviewed, an early treatment therapeutic advocate with a proven track record of that common sense course and many cures under his belt…said he thinks Ivermectin will still be just as effective on the new variant…but probably will be needed at higher dosages.

I had the Hong Cong Flu in 69 and I was a walking/talking 19 year old muscle home on leave in the military at the time…the worst three days were a massive fever, vomiting, desperate dehydration that almost killed me. No room in the hospital…and no doctor available to come to the house (small town in Pa.) my Mother, Father and two Aunts saved my life.
It was a common event in the entire country at the time…same year as Woodstock.

Questions:
1. Where is your source for liposomal Vitamin C? I take chelated Vit C and some plain Ascorbic Acid (Vit C)-probably not good enough; flushes out too fast .
2. Do you buy colloidal silver or make it yourself? I have a high quality variable voltage DC generator & some 99.9% silver bars and have been planning to start making gallons of my own supply, but like most people have been too lazy to get started. Used to buy by the pint, but the commercial stuff went from about $35 per pint to about $60 per pint about 2 years ago. Shudder to think how high it must be now.
I eat off silver plate spoons and forks. Silver plate is relatively cheap and I think that some of the silver comes off in my food.
3. Does anyone have a formula for ounces of horse paste per pound of body weight? If more is needed as one grows older, there should be a separate curve for each decade of age.
4. Do you have a good source for NAC? Thinking I need to stockpile some.
5. How long does the vaccination for smallpox last? We all got that vaccine and a host of others either at boot camp or on the way to Viet Nam. Bill Gates and his spouse have been recorded as saying wait for the next virus and then smiling evil smirks. According to what I read in some places, the NIH has been funding research in weaponizing smallpox and anthrax (in Pittsburgh).
Observations:
1. Again, according to some researchers that I read, shedding is a real phenomenon. The Walking Dead who have gotten the clot shot shed not just spike proteins, but also mRNa particles. I take Nattokinase to dissolve clots and Serrapeptase to dissolve dead tissue accumulations in the venous system, but I suspect that once you have mRNA particles in your body, you are fooked.
2. I do take zinc with selenium every day in moderate doses. I also take one drop of 5% Lugol’s Solution twice a week from an eye dropper. Lugols Solution is a form of iodine that can be safely taken internally-I get it from J Crows in Vermont. Zinc and iodine are reputed to kill viruses. When I feel really crappy, like at the beginning of a bad respiratory infection, I will take 2 drops of 5% Lugols, then feel well within hours. The thyroid gland needs a regular supply of iodine, but too much is toxic and can be fatal.
3. I plan to stay home and avoid contact with Dead People for the next few months as much as possible. Hate going to the VA or any other medical facility. In an enclosed space like a retail store or medical facility, large numbers of Walking Dead are breathing out “stuff” into a conditioned air supply system that is continuously recirculated.
a. I will try to order supplies online as much as possible except for veggies until I can get my garden going again in the spring. Let the package set for a few days or wipe off bottles or boxes with disinfectant. Veggies can be soaked in a hot water/vinegar/lemon juice solution with maybe a little colloidal silver if I start making my own cheap supply.
b. Avoid fast food joints. Hopefully I haven’t doomed myself by eating hamburgers at Runza and a taco off a food truck in moments of weakness in the last couple of weeks. Really don’t know if the fast food was made by Dead People. Runza’s burgers are really delish, but not delish enough that I want to doom myself to an early death with attendant pain and misery beforehand.
c. If I need to go somewhere, like to get vehicle fuel, plan to wear latex gloves and use debit cards. Hate that TPTB can track my purchases, but better than touching money just handled by a Dead Person.
d. I expect several million to die in what usta be a nation in the next 2 to 5 years. What will we do about all those bodies laying around rotting and stinking? If we let the scavangers get at them, then we face the prospect of millions of raccoons, possums, coyotes, etc running around spreading the clot shot death. Not a fun prospect. Also, what will we do about all the millions of little orphans needing food, clothing, shelter, and parenting?

I have been living a rural, farming, semi reclusive life for many years but what is coming will be a time like no other. If we had to we wouldn’t have to leave for years and I have preps/plans for many in my family to join us…have been full bore prepping since 2012.

I forgot to mention three natural medicines I use: elderberry juice, licorice root, and Bovine Lactoferrin.
Elderberry juice has been demonstrated to stop a flu infection and lessen the severity if a person is already suffering from a flu. I keep a couple of bottles with dried elderberry juice capsules.
Licorice root: Bill Sardi, from whose company I buy resveratrol supplements, forwarded a report in the Lancet about a study that showed that a compound in licorice root will kill any corona virus. Whenever I felt funky like the first few days of a cold, flu, or one of the dreaded covid variants, I took some elderberry and licorice capsules and felt ok within a day. Resveratrol is the good stuff in red wine that supposedly accounts for the low rate of heart attacks in the French and Italians. The resveratrol supplement is called Longevinex Advantage. Caution: one doctor warned me that too much licorice can be toxic.
Bovine Lactoferrin is an immune system stimulant found in Bovine Colustrum. The stuff saved my life about 20 years ago when I was suffering from a really, really, bad upper respiratory infection. Unfortunately, the outfit that was importing it from New Zealand quit, because of low demand. I need it now, but couldn’t get it in the states, so settled for taking dried bovine Colustrum tablets. Seems to be working, but I will shortly order the straight Lactoferrin from a source in New Zealand.

My wife and I have been having flu like symptoms for the last 7 days. Lots of coughing, lots of phlegm, chest feeling like it’s on fire, headaches, very sore throat and very thirsty. I have taken 1 12mg Ivermectin per day for the last 3 days. I am now starting to feel better. Chest feels a LOT better, less phlegm and woke up with a sore throat but nothing near as bad as the previous mornings. Make of that what you will.
I need to add that we also doubled up on Vit C, Vit D, K2, Quercetin and Allisure Allicin.
Be sure to take Zinc, also. Up to 90 mg, but not exceeding 90mg, for up to a week, then decrease dosage. A good maintenance dose is around 15 to 23mg. Zinc oxide is not effective, so take it in another form. Lozenges are preferred to capsules or tablets, dissolved slowly for best assimilation. It has to do with the best receptors for zinc being in the mouth. Quercetin helps zinc enter the cells. Frontline doctors recommend zinc as being vital, which lines up with decades of past recommendations for treating colds and flu.

Generally, it’s a bad idea to get tested, and I agree that you can’t be sure what you were actually sick with. Labeling everything rona doesn’t make it so.

If isolation is impossible, if these viruses swim forever in liquid inside cells, un-isolated, then HOW DID SCIENTISTS FIRST DISCOVER VIRUSES EXIST?
On what basis did they make the claim?
