I usually don’t pay attention to the site stats on an all-time basis, but I noticed today that the TBP page views went over 70 million today. And that is just on this version of TBP. The 2009 through 2013 version had a much smaller audience, but that was when I got some national attention (Bannon, Cavuto, Beck). Over 1 million comments and at least half of them didn’t include an expletive.
The monthly and yearly stats show an interesting story too. WordPress marks May 2014 as the highest page views in history. That was the month of the massive denial of service attack that almost ended TBP. But Mike Kreiger and TMWNN rode to the rescue and saved the site. You can see 2021 is already the highest ever, with over a month to go. Bad times are good for TBP. I’m sure we’ll have highest page views ever right before the nuclear missiles hit, and then darkness.
It’s been an interesting ride. I wouldn’t say fun, but certainly enlightening. We’ll see how long we can keep it going.

This place is like riding The Wild Mouse, the one on the Boardwalk down the shore when you were 8 years old. It’s a front row seat at Krakatoa every single day, the closest thing to walking out into center sand at The Colosseum circa 80 AD. TBP is like looking through the view finder of the Enola Gay on the morning of August 6th or being the first man to walk on the Moon, for real.

TBP is like when I visited Ayers Rock in 2004 and tent camped there for a night: a place that had something magical about it, and when the stars came out at night, it was magnificent beyond words. I felt alive there. It is forever etched into my memory. But you had to try to ignore the pesky flies, they were brutal.

Admin, I haven’t been here THAT long, but I have learned a LOAD. Those are some impressive traffic stats. November ’16 and ’20 especially. Can you imagine how many get scared off, never to come back? I don’t remember exactly when it happened but there was one day that I was LIVID at something I read here. Went away for about a week … then it came to me. To myself … “Well, you advocate free speech and that is the only place you’ve found it really held to practice.” So I had to put on my big boy britches and here I am.
