Covid restrictions made me realize that I have no outside contacts other than my spouse or immediate family…i remember thinking the scenario of ‘The Net’ could never happen, but here I am.
Before, people called me anti-social, and I had to correct them and say I was asocial. I just wanted to be left alone, and still do. Because I’m not kowtowing to the “norms of what’s acceptable” I’d have to agree that I am now anti-social. When people say so, I wear it with a smile.
I’m not anti-social; I’m just misanthropic. I think 90% of human beings are worthless trash. I’m very happy to socialize with the remaining 10%.

When society is a mad house, being anti social is the inevitable result of being normal.
My favorite inexpensive beer used to be Schlitz, but it is hard to come by these days. In its place is PBR with a decent taste but most importantly in a red/white/blue can.

Since several years ago when I realized there are close to zero people I can have a serious, honest conversation with. Don’t care that much for exchanging only platitudes, or bullschiff.
If it wasn’t for the news I wouldn’t know there’s a plandemic going on. I guess the poor employees at the grocery store wearing masks would give it away. The crap they endure about masks from dumb people who don’t realize its company policy. No mask, no job. I’m glad someone is willing to be abused so I can go shopping. No matter how dumb it is.
I am torn between thankfulness for them to work masked so I can shop, pity for having to do so, and anger for not standing up and refusing.
Our lives are pretty much the same except I refuse to patronize businesses that require masks for children (like science museums, children’s museums, aquariums etc.), so that is unfortunate that we cannot go there any more. I have no problem going maskless anywhere, but I feel like an enabler if I give them any money, now or in the future (will not patronize them any more even after they lift the stupid mandates). It’s a blessing in disguise, because we have gone on a lot more hikes, play outside and at playgrounds. Those commercial places were artificial environments anyway.
Also, superficial and meaningless “friendships” have been replaced by deeper, true friendships of people who share the same values as us and who do not worship celebrities, sports, platitudes and political correctness but enjoy heated debates, the free exchange of opinions even if different, truth, beauty, culture, love and honesty.

I’ve worked alone 12 hours a day in an art studio for 45 years
with music playing the entire time I paint.
