Exactly right. With all the production improvements which occur every year our life should be getting easier. Most everybody’s life improved yearly prior to 1913. If you can check out some of those videos (films) on Youtube which were made prior to 1913. I’ve been trying to wake up my daughter up and sent her an email regarding this a few months ago. I’m sad to say it did no good.

Comfortable sleeping children usually never wake up. When the electric goes out and the charge on their devices run out that may change. However, I’m sure it will be Trumps fault, not our current glorious leaders.

Why does technology progress in greats bursts followed by long periods of stagnation? Because most of the time the sociopaths are ruling.

samethere403, I am glad some people are starting to apply some critical thinking to “history”. There were never magical times. People are always about the same. The only thing that changes is if and what lunatics are claiming to rule. If history seems to be providing an exception to that, then someone somewhen is lying.

I am with you Red,

In the currently controlled luciferin globalist Disunited States of America…armed defiant, un-submissive ‘Pure Blood – Free Range beings…who are Human’ (and will stay that way no matter what the Luciferians threaten to inject or offer if not ‘Marked’ into their hell on earth-before the real one take them all home – every single last one) will have a defense/offense – – – – individually, in small groups, in large groups, in towns, in states, in regions, and in mass numbers…no matter where they live.

That is what the Luciferian Globalists fear more than anything else…because they have zero wisdom.

Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Matthew 10:28: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Some here have lived through the 3rd degree burns of the consuming fire of violent ‘blood lust’ under the ‘War is Hell’ reality.

I have no doubt many of those are the same who will hold off releasing the ‘Dogs Of War’ as long as possible – but will be the same ones who will demand a payment from those who would enslave us…as most of our enemies have no understanding of…no experience in…and in their worst nightmares have no real idea of the cost of the payment that will extracted from them…when they least expect it.

People are not even aware of the value of their own labor, because they haven’t used it to make things.

How do you work 300% harder? That is bullshit.
Earn 10% less – inflation adjusted.
Pay 220% more – not inflation adjusted.
Talks about 35 years, then mentions 1978.

Seriously, if there was a more corrupt set of info ever posted on TBP, I have never seen it.

The issue is this – manufacturing drove the creation of the US middle class. The US had no competition after WW2, and manufacturing exploded, with half the people working in manufacturing. Today that is around 10%. The people now work in services making hamburgers and such. The US now has competition in manufacturing.

Most people do not have the skills or mental ability to significantly value add in a high tech world. And so most people will struggle to earn a good salary working a job. Jobs are not the answer.

High debt load both public and private, falling educational attainment, loss of competitive advantage, high taxes, etc have all taken a toll.

But the fact is the US lived far beyond its means for decades, and owe a combined $200 trillion or perhaps as a result. The standard of living has been funded by debt load and little competition.

This is not a surprise. It is not some evil plot. It was easily predictable and could have been avoided if people and the government had taken the hard road instead of the easy road. The easy road is always mined. The easy road was mined.

Although your comment is correct in a limited manner there are other factors which had a greater and larger impact. In 1913 the Federal Reserve and the IRS were created. You can see an immediate decline in the standard of living after 1913 and those were the years when manufacturing was booming. It was the beginning of the devaluing of the dollar and the siphoning of wealth and labor from the middle and lower classes.

Sam – in 1913 the US was largely an agrarian society. Standard of living sucked before 1913. What the fuck are you talking about? You can see a huge increase in the US standard of living throughout the 1900s relative to the rest of the world. US standard of living exploded. In 1910 life expectancy was around 50. Outfuckingstanding, right? By 1950 it was near 70.

Llpoh you say “You can see a huge increase in the US standard of living throughout the 1900s relative to the rest of the world.” “…relative to the rest of the world” seems to imply that it wasn’t increasing in the USA. Only until before the creation of the FR was the living standard increasing. You do know, the FR is a private bank. Find a chart for the value of the dollar and you’ll see the devaluing began shortly after the FR was created. So, any increase in the standard of living as you see it could not of occurred or at the very least it wasn’t what it could have or should have been. It’s a contradiction in terms for your standard of living to increase while they’re devaluing the dollar. Wages never keep pace with inflation or put another way the devaluing of the dollar.

It implies no such thing. Prior to 1900, especially vis a vis England, the US was far behind in standard of living. In the early 1900s standard of living boomed in the US, and in coming decades the US standard of living eclipsed that of every other nation.

A worker today can buy vastly more goods and services with an hour of work than they could in 1913. Forget about the dollar amount – how much “stuff” will an hour of work get you?

Standard of living is enormously higher today than it was in 1913, and it is simply inarguable. I am amazed you are even attempting it.

But you are right it is not what it should have been. The US especially, and all western nations, squandered an enormous opportunity.

Llpoh-This comment of yours is truly part of the problem. Many people just can’t see it. I read a study a few years ago and unfortunately am not willing to try and find it. The study basically indicated that our standard of living should be twice as high as it is.

“By this means government may secretly and unobserved, confiscate the wealth of the people, and not one man in a million will detect the theft.”

Always seeing everything through your high-IQ goggles.

Llpoh, it takes one sharp mind to come up with a great idea for a product,
it takes (usually) a few to realize it,
it takes big group to mass produce it,
and it takes a massive crowd to protect all of the above from being taken over by the sociopaths through swindle/threat/force, and afterwards either squeezed to the last drop or directly ruined outright.

Now, how many of the above need to be high IQ?

Fed-caused inflation has STOLEN every increase in productivity, every cost savings applied to manufacturing processes, every additional hour worked, etc. People incorrectly regard inflation as only an increase in prices or in the amount of circulating currency, when it is truly a mechanism of massive wealth transfer to the first recipients of the newly-created money (the government, the banks, large borrowers, etc). The answer to EVERY question about why everyone is poorer, is the Federal Reserve (and of course the worthless federal government that protects their existence).
