I understand that there are large cultural differences between the USA and Canada. And, the rise of totalitarianism in Canada seems to exceed the rise in the USA. The truckers are fighting to ensure basic civil liberties, and I wish them success. Every positive action helps us win the war and defeat totalitarianism.
The difference, culturally between Canada and the US is similar to the differences between the states. They are mostly regional. BC has more in common with Washington state than Newfoundland. Manitoba is more like Minnesota than New Brunswick. Alberta is more like Montana than Ontario. The entire country, collectively/politically speaking, resembles Vermont. As such “Canadian Culture” is a very nebulous idea. It is, technically speaking, American with regional nuances. Because the tail doesn’t wag the dog.

The difference between the Canadian truckers and the 1/6 protesters is the need for their services. Take away their trucks and nobody gets food, fuel, clothing, plastic gizmos from Chicoms, etc. The leaders of the group are something else. They may find themselves so far back in a cell that they will have to shoot beans to them with a rifle.

It’s official now,Canadian trucks will be barred from the US unless the trucker has had multiple shots which wil increase in number as time goes by. As I said a couple weeks ago, stock up on Canadian products before they disappear. Better yet go to the grocery now and stock up in general as this shut down also applies to Mexico.
Fortunately for us, where we live, most of our food outside of some fruit is produced locally. Meat, dairy, poultry and a lot of our produce is all done at my doorstep. When the floods hit in November and our community was cut off from the rest of the world we just went right to the farm to to get milk then pasteurized it ourselves. we never ran out of veggies because local farms have their own markets set up. Bananas and oranges vanished though. They’re imported.
The rest of the country is not in a similar position. It will get interesting for them.
Francis- They are tightening to slow the velocity of money. This will make less goods inflate in price but if there is not much on the shelves the money stays in your wallet. That is when people get edgy as they now know that they are being jacked for a reason other than disease. I have laid in a supply of large banana boxes to haul food to whatever location is best of the four that I have lined up. I am taking this seriously.
Outside of the city there is food around Amish populations, never count that they won’t be picked clean also. Funny just yesterday I noticed we are loaded with bananas and oranges here, go figure. Bonus backup plan, my daughter and SIL have 30 head of cattle.
We’ll soon see how far this all goes.

Yes, Park up safely and legally (so truck does not get forfeited / stolen by the state), and then sit at home for a few weeks.
Blockades are not the way to do this – they will just attract state violence.

I have fact checked this, it is legit. In-flight emergency sqwaks, (sqwak 7700) have indeed increased by about 124X (12,400 percent) since the vax. Gosh, that matches the previous percentage increase of pilot deaths too. Pretty soon we are going to start having planes with both pilot and co-pilot disabled.
A while ago I posted a list of all the commercial pilot deaths post vax. Pilots are quite healthy so usually the list only has a few per year. However, after the vax there were hundreds on the list for 2021, and now we have THIS from a pilot:

I’ve had this app for years and usually you would see one to four emergencies pop up every month. That’s how it’s always been, aviation is pretty safe, there’s not a whole lot of emergencies worldwide on the monthly basis. But over the last couple of months I have been getting notifications sometimes up to 10 times a day. I’ve already had four this morning! Something huge and scary is going on out there and nobody is talking about it. I am seeing so many aircraft declaring emergencies on a daily basis, and I don’t know what is going on. You don’t have to believe me, you can download the app for yourself and set up the notifications. A lot of emergencies happening these days, I don’t know if I want to fly commercially anymore.

I am a Canadian in BC, usually listen to NPR on the way home. Was listening to CBC today, the 28th, the day before the truckers rally in Ottawa, our capital. CBC is the national radio station. I never heard so much bs in one half hour in my life. First a provincial health minister admitted that they are counting deaths from other causes as a covid death, if the person has covid, because it may have been a factor.Next up was the BC health minister, Bonnie Henry, was complaining that people were “othering” her, while her policies clearly “other” the unvaccinated, as the unvaxed are not allowed in restaurants, gyms, theatres etc.Then they went on to talk about the trucker rally in Ottawa. Do they talk about forcing isolated truckers to take experimental injections? NO, they talk about “Anti-vaxer fringe groups” and get an expert on white supremacists to come on. Of course he fuels the hatred. No talking about the issue, giving a fair discussion of both sides. It was total propaganda. I knew CBC was brainwashing people but boy did I get an ear full.
