Check Mate Ottawa

This guy has the right perspective and attitude.

Now.

I read a comment in a previous post a day or two back from a US reader that said that we are going about this is the wrong way. People are going to get fined, have leans placed etc etc etc. But it’s not the wrong tactic for this country. And here is why.

What a lot of American readers don’t understand is that although Canadians are more or less culturally American the country, from a logistical and legal stand point is pretty different.

It’s the 2nd largest nation state in the world in terms of square milage with a population that’s smaller than the state of California. Our supply chains are already crummy and easily disrupted because of the country’s size and where our people live. But more importantly the systems that govern us are relatively weak in comparison to most other countries. We have governments (federal and provincial) with empirical aspirations running on banana republic budgets.

We’ve been here before and reacted similarly on a smaller scale and won. The Wheat Board is a thing of the past because farmers drove their own grain across the border to sell in such large numbers that neither our beleaguered police forces nor our court system could handle dealing with it from the legal end.

This movement is probably about 100 times that size. The police are already saying they’re not going to stop it. And the courts couldn’t handle the fall out if they tried. They’d collapse under the volume and the people would ignore the fines and leans. It’d be a disaster.

The only thing Ottawa and that shit stain, Justin Trudeau can do now is to call millions of Canadians ‘terrorists’ and hope the mainstream media runs with it.

But I don’t think many people are buying the rhetoric anymore. If this thing ends up as big as I think it is going to be then it’s over for the Canadian government.

In the meantime if our American friends and family want to help they can do so by encouraging their friends and family who drive trucks to choke off and blockade our ports of entry on the south side of the border. We can make this ten times worse for our government if goods can’t even make their way north to start. You have ten times our population which means more trucks and more money to back them up. If little old Canada can manage thousands of trucks and millions of dollars in support then so can you.

In the mean time I hope everyone in Canada has plenty of groceries in the pantry. Cause things are going to get skinny in the near future.

There is talk of a strike by the BNSF union over proposed work rules. If that happens, half of the cargo from the west coast will not be moving, which will further clog the west coast ports. It also means coal needed for electrical generation will not be getting delivered and most power plants only have a week – 10 days of coal stored.

Throw in a trucker strike and Walmart’s shelves will be totally empty, gas stations will not have gasoline to sell and the electrical power will be cut off. What could go wrong under those circumstances?

They are serious about that strike. BNSF is trying to get a judge to block it….

BNSF railroad wants a federal judge to prevent two of its unions from going on strike next month over a new attendance policy that would penalize employees for missing work….

A hearing will be held Monday to determine whether the judge will block the threatened strike.

How do you keep people from striking?

In the interest of “national security”, the government can declare a strike illegal and criminally charge those advocating for the strike. RR fired the ATC’s in early 80’s when they illegally went on strike and the firings were upheld by NLRB and the courts.

Recently, the Southwest airline pilots were upset with the vaxx mandate, but were prevented from striking. They were not prevented from getting “sick” and soon brought the airline to their knees and they rescinded the vaxx mandate. SWA claimed the flight cancellations were due to bad weather, but the skies were clear in much of the US.

It’s not that they are on strike. It’s just that they all will get the omnicorn at the same time.

Home test procedure –

Go to the bathroom, wash and sanitize hands
Move in close to the mirror face on
Stick out tongue and examine
Notice that you are indeed sick of it all
Call in sick

That right there is all you need to do to complete your home testing. No further actions are required.

” It also means coal needed for electrical generation will not be getting delivered and most power plants only have a week – 10 days of coal stored”

Copy that, TNP.

The coal yard at our local plant looks WAY low for this time of year, and the tipple that feeds it from the rail siding doesn’t look much better.

This after First Energy shuttered their other coal fired plant a of couple of years ago.

With this arctic clipper socking us in this week, I’m glad to have the Generac outside. And a fireplace and some standing dead in the yard as plan C.

I could kick my butt for not installing (or at least wiring for) a generator when we built the house. Currently working on a solar panel system to keep the lights on, fridges cold and computers up/charged. Hoping to have 1KW when I get it all together, then I will have to figure out how to connect it to the house breaker panel.

The hardest part of installing a switch is running the wires down through the ceiling; it’s like trying to thread a needle, but you can’t even see the needle. Frustrating!

After ERCOT showed us all last year that they can hit the kill switch anytime they want, I had to make sure I wasn’t dependent on them anymore. I got a DuraMax XP 13000EH — dual-fuel — and a 50-amp plug, then bought two 50-amp power cords, one 25′ and the other 100′. You can buy switch kits just about anywhere (I got mine at Home Depot).

If you are able to install it yourself you’ve just saved at least $1,000, because with labor and parts an electrician will molest you; and $1k is on the low end, as everything is so inflated now. I hope you don’t need to install an entire new panel — that’s $3k just to get started.

I would do solar panels if it was cost-effective, but I don’t have the $10k-plus it would cost at the moment. I’m seriously considering building a Tesla coil and quit messing with all these power companies, period.

I am not interested in running the whole house as it gets into the 5 digit range quickly, but I figure I can get by on 1 KW. If you do not open it, a freezer only has to run an hour or so a day to keep things frozen. Fridge is not as efficient, but still does not require constant power.

I will have to Jerry rig it as my breaker box is downstairs in a 2-story house. Only access would be through the brick near the main cable entrance.

Set a separate box next to the panel with a three-way switch. Common goes out to the circuit you want to power. Switch up terminal is input from the inverter, switch down terminal is power from the breaker (power company). Basically a manual transfer switch. Leave it in the up position during the day and then flip back down at night if you don’t have batteries to start to get some payback for the cost. Spend the extra money and get a 20 amp rated switch.

Justine is an idiot of the first order. Best of luck to the truckers and the Canadian people. I never knew they were closet Americans til now. That’s great…. just so you are southern. 🙂

P.S. Makow has really been ripping Justine a new asshole for the last two days.

Probably was a rigged election as well. Canadian media is bought and paid for over and above the U.S.’s fake msm. Canadians would have NO WAY of knowing.

Man, all it took was one good spark to trigger massive cooperation.
These truckers and citizens are driving up to 3000 miles together.
I think history is in the making.
