Inversion Therapy?

I asked him if he was retiring or leaving in disgust. His answer: DISGUST!

Guest Post by Anthony Sanders

Its official! I submitted my resignation from George Mason University effective June 1, 2022. I will miss teaching the students, past and present.

But back to the US Treasury yield curve. It remains in reversion (meaning shorter-term Treasuries have higher yields than longer-term Treasuries, usually a sign of impending recession. The Fed has actually started quantitative tightening (QT) and the growth rate of Treasury note and bond purchases has slowed to a crawl.

Meanwhile, Bankrate’s 30-year mortgage rate rose slightly to 4.91%.

Meanwhile, President Joe “The Big Guy” Biden has ordered carmakers to increase their average fuel economy to about 49 miles (78.8 kilometers) per gallon by 2026. Of course, this is intended to kill-off gasoline-powered autos and make all cars electric or hybrid like the Toyota Prius.

According to Kelley Blue Book, the average transaction price for an electric vehicle in April 2021 was $51,532. That’s more than $11,000 higher than what you’d pay at the dealership for a full-size gas-powered car, and nearly $30,000 more than the average compact car sale.

This can be the Democrat’s midterm election slogan: “Making living in the USA unaffordable!”

The middle-class unaffordable Ford F-150 Lightning at nearly $100,000. Thanks Joe!

Alternatively, you can buy a Buick Envision (made only in Shanghai China) with up to 24 city / 31 highway MPG. Well, kiss that baby goodbye under Biden’s new MPG mandate.

Anyone know offhand when the kill-switch is set to be mandated.

I think I remember reading the auto car kill switch must be in all new vehicles by 2026. I think it is already in a lot of them form 2006 up from other things I have read.

I’m not really against electric cars but why, oh why, do they make them look so ugly?

You should be against electric cars as they are a total hoax. Energy is lost when you convert it. Wind and solar energy and the metals they use destroy the environment. The extra cost enslaves us. I could go on and on. But enough said. All real Americans/people should be against it

It’s not a war on g̵l̵o̵b̵a̵l̵ ̵w̵a̵r̵m̵i̵n̵g̵ climate change, it’s a war on the middle class. It’s a War on Personal Freedom is what it is, okay? Keep that in mind at all times. Thank you*

Anyone with the most rudimentary understanding of manufacturing costs, useful life of a product & disposal costs based on the regulations of the present, should be able to determine this electric car bull-crap is just that bull-crap. Fossil fuel is at least renewable. We won’t even get into the how electricity is produced and by what in the quantity it will be required, if the population & car demand remains the same. If they intend to reduce the demand and population can I at least demand that all the “dream weavers” be first in line for extinction.

Not to worry, if you cannot afford a car, you can just use one of the many low cost, reliable and comfortable means of public transportation that span the country in a tight network that reaches even the tiniest villages.

Thank you Svarga Loka for pointing out to me the error in my thinking. I totally forgot about walking. Your sarcasm is deeply appreciated and noted. I still get to damn emotional when I am being required to swallow bull-crap like global warming, electric cars & a host of other pie in the sky manure.

My next door neighbor has a 5 year old Nissan Armada. He uses it to tow his big fishing boat all over the East Coast. Only 83k miles. Transmission went kaput!! $5,000 to fix it.

He said “screw that”. So, just a couple days ago he bought …. another Armada. WTF?? Anyway, the point of my story …. he told me (just this morning) that he paid $8,000 OVER list price!! Said it was the best deal he could get. Wow.

My diesel Jeep and my wife’s diesel Passat should last us deep into the next decade. Planning on at least 200k if not 300k on them before they have nothing left to give. Jeep gets 26/30 and the Passat gets 42/50.

Last year I got rid of the 014 F350 with sensors out the ying yang and went to a 98 F150 with no sensors… Wouldn’t give a plug nickel for a new vehicle.

A mechanic friend told me about five years ago that the car companies are making wheel hubs, transmissions, etc nonservicable. If they fail, they re&re them only. Not interested in a new vehicle, I’ll keep the old school truck. I can work on that without $80,000 worth of diagnostic equipment. I got a tube of grease and a few wrenches… good to go…
