And we had the best railroads, highways and the highest literacy rate in the world. That’s the pity of all this theft: We don’t need them.

Why didn’t the people revolt??

Damn good question AA.

Because they were lied to just like we’re lied to, and far too many believe the lies.

Just say ‘no more’ and have the courage to not pay…

Payroll deduction.
The theft is on autopilot, and we’ve become used to it.
Now, if people had to withold their own taxes and Mail in in, there would be revolution.

Here in canukistan you can opt out of auto payroll tax with holds. You just have to tell your employer you will pay your taxes yourself at the end of the year.

If you really care about your money put aside the amount you’d pay in tax and earn the interest yourself instead of giving it to the govt…

Interest? What interest?

back in the day the banks would give you a pittance for allowing them to loan your money to others… and then steal it back in fees you paid them to ‘manage’ your accounts… Thats why banks hated credit unions… but… CU’s have now mostly moved to the banking models… theft. But you can still make a pittance from owning CU shares… which they’ll take back from you in… fees…

Will they tax me on the increase or, at their March CPI rate of 6.7%, credit me with the invisible steal from the paltry sum I get, Then tax that.
I only want what is fair, like my naked ass

Average Joe, the rotund bastard that came up with withholding idea was an employee of Macy’s.
“One of the world’s biggest department store chains last week promoted one of the world’s biggest and best idea men. Into the board chairmanship of Manhattan’s R. H. Macy & Co., Inc., went ebullient, 240-lb. Beardsley Ruml, father of the pay-as-you-go income tax, the Ruml-Sonne tax plan, etc., and longtime Macy treasurer.”

In a high trust society, it is difficult to believe your government lies outright to your face.

The banking cartel had just created the Federal Reserve at (fittingly) Jekyll Island — without any input from anyone … with all the ‘usual suspects’ doing as they wish with the rest of US … and we weren’t allowed to revolt anymore.

First, the tax only impacted the richest of the rich and it was promised that they would always be the only ones affected…obviously a huge lie.
Second, the spread of the tax to others lower down the food chain came quite slowly and started impacting people as they were making more money….so a bit of a wash and not a huge shock.
Third, as mentioned below, during WW2, the “great” economist Milton Friedman (insert appropriate comment as needed) suggested the concept of paycheck withholding so that the tax burden could be increased but folks would only feel a little pain every week rather than the huge pain once a year.
Fourth – government monopoly schools and a compliant media that teaches Americans to worship government and that “taxes are the price we pay for civilization.”

I quit paying in 2005, entered $0 for income on my 1040EZ after that. Years of nasty letters followed, written by pseudo agents who hide behind fake laws and fake names. Stand your ground, and grow a backbone.
Try explaining that to a public school indoctrinated and brainwashed tax slave. They will argue to the death their right to be fleeced by the Bolshevik banksters of Jekyl Island. It’s an honor and privilege to be bent over and ass raped by an illegal private banking organization and their illegal collection agents.
I was told I belong in prison because they’re too stupid to do some homework. Federal income tax only applies to fedgov workers. Read the rules and profit.
The reason we have so many filthy rich politicians is because they have their hand in the trough of excess money flowing thru D.C., via the FedRes and IMF. It’s a bottomless pit of corruption, and we can put a stop to it, but most folks are too dumb and scared to know they’re being raped, with their own voluntary permission.

NotVaxxedMuchvexed

For a few silly reasons. They were told it only for the rich people. They told the populous that it would never exceed 3%. The Sixteenth Amendment had a graduated tax starting with a 1-percent rate for incomes between $4,000 and $20,000 increasing to a top rate of 3-percent for those earning $50,000 or more.
If I remember correctly, the top rate by the end of WWII was 98% but, FDR really wanted a 100% top rate. Ronald Regan worked on a few movies for free, claiming that otherwise, he couldn’t afford to get paid.
Many believe that the 16th was never ratified.
BTW, the vote on the 16th and the attendant facts have been “enhanced”.
If you liked the 16th, you could have waited around until January 16, 1919 when the 18th Amendment was Rat-ified.

MrLiberty

“The Law That Never Was” covers the subject in extreme detail with document copies, etc that prove beyond a doubt that it was NEVER legally ratified per the conditions of the Constitution. As if the government or the courts care about facts. The author no longer pays taxes…legally.

Income tax is patently immoral.
It is the admission that your income does not belong to you.
However, the benevolence of Gov.com let’s you keep most of it (for now).
Sales tax is the fairest, and should be, the only tax.

And, whether or not you’re realizing any capital gains on it — which only happens when you sell — they keep raising the taxes on it in ‘anticipation’ of those gains … ‘assessed value’ my behind …

As amazing as that fact is there’s one which is much more amazing. Prior to 1913 there was no inflation tax. “The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.” It’s a way to steal our money and therefore our time and therefore our life. Imagine having a standard of living four or five times better than what you have now and you might begin to grasp what was stolen from us. It appears we are now reaching the end.

We live in a world of adult children, always waiting for someone else to take them by the hand and tell them what to do.
How else would we live in a world with so many advisors, people can’t even have a bowel movement without worrying , then looking it up and consulting a “specialist”. Women are the worst by far, with their “group” food allergies and intolerance for anything their girlfriends don’t all agree with.
