I don’t really know anyone that eats at Subway anymore – it offers stale bread, tasteless lunch meats, and soggy vegetables. At least back in the day you could get full for $5, but even now a basic sub runs almost double that. The sinister Covid lockdowns didn’t do much for Subway’s business, either.
Of course, no analysis of Subway’s futile decline would be complete without accounting for their hair-brained hiring of pink-haired ingrate Megan Rapinoe.
Breitbart accurately summarized all of this by saying:
“The Subway fast-food chain has been struggling — even before the coronavirus — but many franchise owners also felt that hiring U.S. soccer star and national anthem protester Megan Rapinoe as a national spokesperson was no help at all.”
Despite perennial whining for misguidedly wanting “equal pay for equal work” compared to men – even though her female squad was once unable defeat a team of acne-riddled, soprano-voiced teenage boys – Subway offered the vile, angry athlete a spot as its spokeswoman.
Breitbart laid out the obvious problems with hiring a narcissistic, America-hating millionaire as its new public face:
“Indeed, the struggling fast-food company was met with an organized boycott by customers who were upset that Subway would choose to laud a woman who attended an Olympics on foreign soil only to protest against the country that made her rich.
Some franchise owners were furious that Subway chose such a radical and controversial political figure to push their product.”
Franchise owners were referencing the vile act of kneeling for America’ national anthem during prior to their bronze-medal match. Responding to that incident, then-President Donald Trump said something only he could:
“If our soccer team, headed by a group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” Trump said in a statement. “The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics instead of doing her job!”
Megan Rapinoe is tanking the Subway brand, but her embarrassments don’t stop there. Just a few months ago, she was snubbed by her coach and program, being left off the next internationally-competing squad. The thirty-eight-year-old self-centered brat is closing in on the tail end of her career, and not a moment too soon. We wrote about that development a few months ago:
“Well, she just got embarrassed yet again, this time by getting kicked off of the roster for the “SheBelieves Cup” because she performed so terribly during the summer Olympics. Yes, that’s right: the woman that claimed she was worth, from a financial perspective, just as much as the average dude soccer player just got kicked off the roster because she’s so bad.”
As far as Subway, Breitbart acknowledged in its report that the company knew it made a mistake. However, my guess is they couldn’t publicly say anything lest they face the wrath of the Rainbow Jihad.
“Subway never officially responded to the complaints about the Rapinoe spots, but they didn’t play very long. Regardless, the company’s foothold in the U.S. market continues to slip, and hiring people who are perceived as anti-American like Rapinoe is not helping reverse the decline.”

They lost me when it became known Subway kept pedophile Jared as their spokesman for years after they were made aware but before it became public knowledge and that their ‘oven roasted chicken’ is more than 50% soy. Crap food advertised by crap humans. No thanks.
The local Subway had a banner blasting Rapinoe almost from day one. The second half was that they were a local franchise who appreciated family values. They offered a 20% discount with any church bulletin, first responder/LEO/military discounts, and Education worker discounts. They support all local sports leagues and the high school sports programs. They are deeply involved with the community and they have a thriving business.

It is excellent that so many of us are not participating in things we oppose. Relatedly there is a new conservative credit card on the market called Coign I think. My plan is to end my 35 year relationship with my Amex Gold Card and replace it with this new card. I do fear that the woke banksters at Visa will try to stop it though.
Although I would not advocate it, what would stop anyone who has a bone to pick with Subway from going in and ordering a half a dozen sandwiches and then when they were made and placed in the bag discover that they left their wallet in the car and would be right back…
Imagine a million people doing that two or three times a week.
Good people rarely think of simple solutions if they involve doing things that are impolite or put others out. They put up with being mocked and ridiculed by the very companies and corporations on whom they spend their hard earned money without ever thinking of a way of evening the score.
A little monkey wrenching goes a long way.
The only problem I see with that sort of fuckery, HSF, is that most are franchise-owned and not all the franchisees were on board with either Jared or the basketball millionaires or the bitch. And those franchisees provide a great defense against pushback. I have never encountered a tactic that was 100% effective.
However, if they are impacted they might reach out to corporate. Or rethink who they want to hitch their wagon to.
Or you could try a tactic I’ve been using for 30 years and just not patronize that operation. The Jared thing was enough for me, but clearly the rest of the herd kept their heads down, chewing cud.
They could choose to be independent businesses, and not franchisees/enablers.
If you’re a franchisee, you’re “on board” whether you want to be or not. That’s what it means to be a franchisee.
actually it’s easy to be evil, all you have to do is not care what the other person thinks of you, I use this car salesman trick all the time, I want the best deal possible and I don’t care what you think of me or how loud I get, I’m never going to see this person again. It also works well when returning items in a store or complaining about shoddy products. I learned this from a wonderful book called “when I say no, I feel guilty”.
