There is a misunderstanding regarding the Gray Champion of this Fourth Turning. The misunderstanding revolves around thinking there is only one Gray Champion, they are hugely popular, always do the right thing, and are universally admired for their leadership traits. Nothing could be further from the truth. In previous Fourth Turnings, there have always been multiple Gray Champions, often at war with each other, who were not popular or necessarily good men.
What they always are is single-minded, tenacious, ruthless, and intent on winning at any cost. Their followers are inspired, and their enemies despise them. There is no middle ground when it comes to opinions about Gray Champions. They generally don’t fight the battles, but shape the strategy, inspire the troops, or mobilize the citizenry to action.
The Awakening Prophet Generation firebrands during the American Revolution included Sam Adams and Ben Franklin. Adams organized and led the Boston Tea Party, lighting the fuse of revolution. Franklin provided the wisdom and guidance for the younger firebrands like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. These Prophet Generation leaders were the inspirational lightning rods for a revolution where failure meant the gallows for them and their fellow rebels. This nation wouldn’t exist without the leadership of Adams and Franklin.
Gray Champions during the Civil War Fourth Turning included Abraham Lincoln, William Tecumseh Sherman, Jefferson Davis, and Robert E. Lee. These four Transcendental Prophet Generation men were the driving force during the four-years of slaughter, where 700,000 men (10% of male population between the ages of 18 and 60) were killed in a brutal war of brother versus brother.
The War Between the States certainly marked an hour of darkness, adversity, and peril. Lincoln rose from obscurity to lead the northern states in a scorched earth effort to suppress the Confederate states, greatly expanding the reach of the Federal government, instituting a mandatory draft, introducing an income tax, suspending the right to habeas corpus, and flaunting the Constitution when he deemed necessary. He did this without a mandate from the people, as he won the presidency in 1860 with only 39.8% of the popular vote, in a four-man race.
He was determined to win the war at any cost. And his personal cost was bullet to the head and death before victory. Sherman was a take no prisoners general who implemented a new and far more violent form of war. He conducted war against soldiers and civilians alike, believing he could destroy the will of the enemy by using his terrible swift sword and wreaking destruction upon every city he passed through during his march to the sea. Ultimately, Grant and Sherman’s strategy of wearing down their opponents through superior manpower and armaments worked. Sherman is despised to this day by Southerners.
Jefferson Davis had been a U.S. Senator prior to becoming president of the Confederate States of America. Just as the founding fathers would have been hung for treason if they had failed, Davis risked the same fate and ultimately spent a couple years in a federal prison after his defeat. His personality deficiencies and inability to convince Britain to support the Confederate cause, were a major factor in the South’s defeat.
Meanwhile, the inspirational leadership of Robert E. Lee is probably the single biggest factor in the Confederacy lasting as long as it did. His daring, strategic brilliance, inspiring presence on the battlefield and tenaciousness won many improbable victories and even in defeat he escaped annihilation by his sheer guile and determination.
It takes a certain type of man to give an order that will surely result in the deaths of thousands as he did on the 3rd day at Gettysburg, and Pickett made his fateful charge. At Antietam and Gettysburg his opponents could have destroyed his army and ended the war, but they were psychologically unable to do so, fearing Lee was setting a trap for them. His honorable surrender at Appomattox set a tone of reconciliation that helped bring the country back together as well as it could be done at that time. Lee is still considered an icon in the South, and the destruction of his statues by the low IQ ignorant BLM terrorists and their corrupt Democrat politician cucks is a disgrace to a great man and our rich history.
The Great Depression/World War II Fourth Turning saw the Missionary Prophet Generation produce another four historical figures who will never be forgotten: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Douglas MacArthur, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin. It is reasonable to say these men had immense egos, were ruthless in achieving their objectives, were more hated then loved, fought against all odds, committed criminal acts, and ultimately cooperated enough to attain victory in World War II.
Roosevelt changed the country from rural to urban, implemented his New Deal that began the social welfare state, tried to stack the Supreme Court, and imprisoned Japanese citizens for being Japanese. FDR accumulated such dictatorial power during his four terms in office, Congress implemented a two-term limit on all future presidents. MacArthur disobeyed orders from his superiors when he decided his path was better. But his strategy in the Pacific proved effective and his humane reign while overseeing the occupation of Japan from 1945 until 1951 paved the way for democracy and stability in Asia.
Churchill had many more failures than successes during his life in the military, government office and politics, before ascending to prime minister at a point of maximum peril for the UK. A lesser man probably would have sued for peace, as his troops were cornered at Dunkirk and bombs obliterated London on a nightly basis. His inspirational speeches kept the spirits of his people up, and once Hitler turned his attention towards Russia, Churchill was able to focus on prodding FDR for help and angling to get the U.S. into the war.
Churchill was cruel and ruthless when it came to fighting the war. He, along with FDR, decided firebombing Dresden and other German cities was a valid tactic in winning the war. Lying to allies in order to achieve his aims was a common occurrence by Churchill, but he also saw Stalin for who he really was, and immediately realized the Soviets would not be allies after the war was won. His own people booted him out of office at the war’s end, showing he wasn’t loved. Essentially, Churchill oversaw the last days of the British Empire.
Despite being a psychopath who murdered and starved in excess of 1 million of his citizens during the 1930s, Joseph Stalin was a Gray Champion during the last Fourth Turning. He was a dictator who bore the brunt of Hitler’s armed forces and ultimately repelled the Germans and had his armies take Berlin. Generals who failed were executed. His sheer willpower and unwillingness to admit defeat were essential to achieving victory in World War II.
He bullied and prodded his allies – FDR and Churchill – to open a second front and provide him with tanks and arms to defeat the Germans. He never considered himself a friend of the UK or US. They were useful pawns to help him achieve victory. He was an evil man running a despotic regime who became an immediate enemy upon victory in 1945. He is the ultimate example of a Gray Champion not being a noble, moral, well-liked person.
Anyone with a true grasp of history would acknowledge all these men had monumental personality defects, huge egos, a determination to win by any means necessary (including breaking the law and flaunting the Constitution), and ability to mobilize forces to accomplish their goals. Their names and deeds are in the history books.
Hundreds of biographies have been written about each, trying to capture their true essence. But one thing is certain. They fought for what they believed, shaped the future of their countries, didn’t back down from taking responsibility and making tough decisions, and sent millions to their deaths by their actions. Gray Champions are not wallflowers, quiet, or unassuming. They lead. They are willing to act, make decisions and fail or succeed on their own merits.
When the Prophet archetype arrives at old age, it heralds a new constellation of generations, which happens every 80 years – marking the arrival of another Fourth Turning. As we are propelled through the fourteenth year of this Fourth Turning, Gray Champions have arrived on the scene and are propelling us towards a frightful climax, which will happen within the next several years.
The intensification is being driven by these figures, who will ultimately be judged in history books based upon their success or failure in leading their nations through this Crisis period. Anyone who can’t see the world being pushed towards the brink of world war and on the verge of economic collapse, is either willfully ignorant, too dumbed down and distracted by their electronic bread and circuses, or just focused on profiting from war, chaos, and destruction.
Neil Howe, one of the authors of The Fourth Turning, made a statement in January 2021 which clarified for me those who currently fit the mold of a Gray Champion.

As this Fourth Turning was ignited by the 2008 financial collapse, brought about by Wall Street bankers, Ben Bernanke and his central banker co-conspirators, corrupt politicians, and feckless government apparatchiks, I was trying to seek out the Gray Champion who would lead the country through this Crisis. I realize now, my view was too narrow. There seems to be multiple Gray Champions with differing agendas, often at conflict with the agendas of other Gray Champions and leading the world into a global conflict.
Their one commonality is they are all Boomer Generation Prophets, with a single-minded ambition to lead their followers down the path they are sure will attain success for themselves and their followers. But we know for sure, some will lose and possibly all will lose if one or more is reckless enough to initiate nuclear Armageddon.
With his improbable 2016 election I thought Trump might be the single Gray Champion, acting as a lightning rod for the conflict which always arises during a Fourth Turning. I now realize there are several Prophet Generation leaders who are leading competing factions both domestically and internationally. Even though Trump was removed from office in an ultimately successful Deep State coup in 2020, he continues to have a huge following, drawing massive crowds at rallies, and giving every indication he intends to run for president again in 2024.
There is a major segment of the population which will follow him anywhere he leads. He most certainly is a Gray Champion, whose Deep State sanctioned adversary Hillary Clinton, also fits the mold of Gray Champion – albeit an evil she-devil Gray Champion intent on destroying what remains of civil society in America while instigating Russia into a world war.
As a main figure in the plot to overthrow the man who defeated her in 2016, she continues to throw bombs and insinuate she might run again in 2024, as the dementia ridden pathetic shell of a corrupt politician Biden will be lucky to live until 2024 and the low IQ cackling hyena of a vice president will be cast aside by the Deep State as unelectable. Clinton has ratcheted up the war rhetoric and will always have the left-wing pussy hat wearing lunatic fringe as her base. She is a dangerous, vile human being, but so was Stalin.
Being a malevolent hateful shrew does not disqualify you from being a Gray Champion during a Fourth Turning. She will attempt to rally her malicious forces of wickedness, with the full support of her Deep State puppet-masters and lapdog compliant corporate legacy media, to accelerate our downward spiral into a techno-communist, globally controlled, dystopian hellscape. This Fourth Turning will not end well if she and her globalist billionaire cronies emerge victorious.
Another globalist billionaire, who cavorted with and did business with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, did not appear on my radar as a Gray Champion until he, Klaus Schwab, Fauci, Big Pharma, and the bought off medical industrial complex, created a worldwide pandemic using a Wuhan lab produced flu with a 99.7% survival rate. Bill Gates, a software geek who fancies himself a medical expert, used his immense wealth to push for the mandatory injection of an untested, unproven, dangerous, DNA altering gene therapy created by criminal pharmaceutical firms, into the bodies of everyone on earth.
Gates has funded the vaccine propaganda campaign and funnels millions to the mainstream media to push falsehoods about the safety and effectiveness of these toxic concoctions. He has inexplicably bought up farmland, while promoting bugs as a future food source for the unwashed masses.
He is a major player in the Great Reset Build Back Better WEF demonic plan to enslave the masses in poverty in a techno-gulag where we will own nothing and told to be happy, or else. He and his fellow pedophile satanic billionaire cultists will own everything and be really happy. His investments in vaccines, farmland, and the media most certainly makes his motivations suspect. His immediate negative reaction to Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter reveals his authoritarian censorship principles and belief he and his small cohort of wealthy totalitarian oligarchs should be the arbiters of truth and gatekeepers of what the plebs can say on social media.
Suppression of those voicing dissent from the approved State narrative is essential for Gates and his ilk in propagandizing the ignorant masses. The first amendment and the Constitution are nothing more than annoyances to men like Gates who can buy and sell the world to implement their warped agenda. Like Clinton, if this Gray Champion succeeds, the people of this world will never recover their liberties and freedoms.
This brings us to two men who weren’t in my thought process during the first thirteen years of this Crisis as potential Gray Champions. I suffer the same myopia as many others, viewing the world through the lens of living within the American Empire. Of course, America is no longer the shining city on the hill, if it ever was. We have been an empire since 1945, forged in war and sustained through currency dominance, intimidation, and bribing others to do as they are told.
It seems both Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are from the Boomer Prophet Generation and may be playing the dominant roles in the denouement of this increasingly violent Fourth Turning. As I’ve stated previously, there are no unequivocal good guys who can be counted upon to do what is in your best interest. These Gray Champions have immense egos, grand visions of worldly achievements and often a lack of self-awareness. They all believe their actions are morally right and guided by a higher authority.
Living within the echo chamber of a declining empire drowning in debt and flailing about wildly as its last vestiges of military and economic domination crumble, makes it difficult to understand how the rest of the world views the big bully on the block getting his comeuppance. Those pulling the strings behind the scenes, who installed a doddering, decrepit gaffe machine in the oval office as their Trojan horse, anticipated using this pliable dupe to initiate the final destruction of a nation originally built on agreed upon community standards, a strong work ethic, thrift, religious freedom, self-reliance, and a spirit of independence and freedom.
I don’t think they anticipated the pathetic weakness displayed by this ancient fossil, which has empowered Putin and Xi to take advantage of his frailty and intellectual decline. The question must be asked. Would Putin have invaded Ukraine if Trump was still president?
Putin, as the evil Hitler demagogue character, portrayed by the Deep State controlled mass media mouthpieces, is entirely false. The characterization of Putin’s Operation Z as unprovoked and initiated as part of his plan to take over Eastern Europe is a canard, and the U.S. military and political operatives know it. Putin didn’t invade on a whim. His intelligence agency showed him proof the Ukraine was going to launch a NATO backed offensive against the Russian backed rebels in Donbas.
Putin called their bluff and derailed their plans. This entire Ukrainian charade, where Pelosi, Schiff, Boris Johnson, Trudeau, Bono and now Jill Biden drop into a “dangerous hot war zone” for photo ops and a virtue signaling meetings with the U.S. puppet president B level actor/comedian Zelensky is a propaganda farce.
I’m waiting for a “We Are the World” concert to break out at any moment. The entire narrative surrounding the conflict in the Ukraine, pushed by Biden, Soros, NATO, and their obedient media lackeys, is knowingly fabricated and built upon misinformation. The CIA Soros funded coup against the democratically elected president in 2014 set this entire farce in motion.
No Ukrainians were being killed before the U.S. coup. Now we are using the Ukrainian people as cannon fodder in our proxy war against Russia. It has been U.S. and NATO provocation which has forced Putin’s hand since the 2014 coup. The U.S. purposely told Zelensky to act as if the Ukraine was going to seek NATO membership. Zelensky and his Ukraine Nazi forces have been bombing Russian speaking civilians since 2014 and were planning a major offensive in Donbas which Putin pre-empted with his attack. It has been the U.S. led NATO and Ukraine instigating Putin. They continue to do so, with Finland and Sweden being incentivized to join NATO by the U.S.

You immediately will have no semi-conductor anything, zero lithium batteries for anything at all from electric cars to cellphones, 75% or better of the pharmaceuticals in common use will disappear instantly, finding tires will be nearly impossible, automotive and machine parts, specifically wear parts such as bearings will all become unobtanium and more. Even something as simple as a circuit breaker for your house will not be able to be sourced. ALL of the large transformers used to distribute electrical power in the United States, never mind nearly all of the switchgear, are made overseas in whole or part and thus if they fail, whether due to natural or man-made cause they cannot be replaced in such an event either. Within a few months spares for critical parts that are considered wear items and thus must be replaced on a schedule will run out in our energy generation and distribution system and failures will begin to occur with impact from local areas to entire regions.
Your local gas station and supermarket cash register (never mind most modern refrigerators, HVAC systems and similar) all have chips in them that are only made overseas; there is no replacement available made in the United States. Your much-vaunted heat pump that is so “green” has a defrost control board in it without which it will not function — if you bypass it (which you can in some cases) once the temperatures get below about 40 degrees outside the unit will fail or be destroyed without it, and there won’t be a replacement available at any cost. Even the contactor (relay) in that outdoor unit has no US supply and without it the unit doesn’t work. Your gas furnace has an ignitor and control board without which you have no heat, they do fail and, again, there is no US supply. We did this to ourselves with our decades-long stupidity offshoring everything and by doing so made it possible for any nation that can sink even a single container ship to break the United States economy and perhaps even a few million people’s survival within minutes.
Commercial shipping will go to zero basically immediately as anything that floats and is big is easy to sink and without insurance, which nobody will write, nobody will ship anything because someone is going to eat the entire cost if the ship ends up on the bottom of the ocean and there is nobody in their right mind who will take that risk.

IMO, when Russia (Putin) sees that only one side will be standing at the end of this and there are no other workable options, the big birds will fly. We may have a credible counterstrike, or we may not. Imagine the effect on the whole grid of all plants, substations, transformers, etc in the NYC metro area being fried into permanent unusability.

I’m not saying you could easily EMP the White House but leave the Senate Building working, but to a ±20 mile accuracy should be doable.
nuke-induced EMPs have a sweet spot altitude-wise wherein they give the most oomph for your megaton. very low altitude nukes, even big ones (a textbook detonation at say 2-5 miles for your classic movie style city-evaporating mushroom cloud), dont yield very strong EMPs, whereas at an altitude of 20 miles would yield a moderate EMP and at 50 miles a much stronger one. Go up to a few hundred miles and you’re going to energize enormous regions of the upper atmosphere and generate a moderate EMP over a very large area, but maybe the best bang for the buck is in the 50-100 miles range, which would require at least some dozens of detonations to give coverage over a region as large as the continental us.
for a much smaller and less extreme investment in conventional arms a few dozen critical points in a continent scale grid could be targeted and totally fubar that grid. also, the EMP effect on random devices is way overstated. most of the damage in a nuke-induced EMP scenario would be on grid-connected items as those long wires pick up and carry a lot of the power and fry the shit out of things on those wires. to waste random disconnected electronics (oft-mentioned car electronics, or the laptop or phone in your bag right now, etc) the frequencies and energies involved really wont do much. Youd need much sharper, higher power pulses, of much higher energy (frequency) to trash disconnected or powered-off devices. The actual nuke detonating will generate those kind of profiles, but you’d need to be within some (say within a dozen) miles of the detonation to waste the device and maybe say out to 20-25 miles to cause erratic malfunctions , fuzz enough of flash memories to fuck up the software on the devices, etc. most of your radiation shielded (military type) gear is just shielded by heavy enclosures and it’s enough for holding up to that burst at any range where the soldier operating it would also be expected to survive long enough to use it. (real rad-hard electronics like the stuff rated for use in space is a whole different story, and are also very rare)
short answer: a handful of high altitude EMPs will cause blackouts but not the total end of the beast as many dream of.
in europe at least it might be the pseudo-green WEF dipshits themselves who kill the grid before an EMP could get around to it!
You’re discounting the effect on CMOS. They don’t need a much power to destroy them, just a [tiny current but] high voltage spike. What I don’t know is how easily (integrated?) Zener Diodes could give protection against such.
“shielded by heavy enclosures” only works if the shielded device is not connected to any cable [power, comm, antenna] outside the enclosure… without, most of such devices are inoperable, i.e. nice paperweights. So you can shield reserve devices easily, but who tells you there won’t be another EMP two hours or two days later, after you took out of shielded storage, and started using, the reserve ones?
IF the device is actually powered at the moment the burst hits, then yes it can cause gates to flood and very likely fry some components – and even a gate or two is enough to make a chip useless – but again the actual power frying the device will be from the power already flowing through the device. it takes a shitload higher levels of radiation to induce enough power in such small devices, to actually fry them without any other power source. Most damage to anything connected to a long wire (grid, antenna, phone line, whatever, any large/long conductor) in an EMP scenario, comes from currents induced in those long lines frying anything along the way. Much higher frequency radiation than the EMP (the secondary atmospheric discharge tripped by the wave of radiation from the nuke) is needed to fry electronics (modern electronics. old skool stuff and especially tubes , again, need enormously more power than this even, to fry them), but lower power levels of high energy radiation (getting into x ray territory) from the actual nuke blast can sufficiently excite sites in an integrated circuit such that if there’s already power applied to the circuit, it’s like a kid flipping all the switches randomly and turning everything on max at once, many spots can get fried. In things like memory cells and flash memory (i.e. almost any storage device anymore, and on top of that almost any device which has any embedded software- that software is likely stored in flash) , even a short blast of ionizing radiation can cause random bit flips all over the memory, rendering whatever was stored there almost certainly useless. embedded devices with firmware on a tiny flash chip, are useless without that software, and theres almost never any provision for servicing or reprogramming such things anymore, it’s all disposable and deliberately sealed off to prevent customers (i.e. owners) from accessing or controlling their own devices. lower energy radiation (rf/microwave ranges, from hundreds of megahertz to terahertz) in powerful enough doses can also induce currents in devices even without having any power applied , and can sometimes damage them but it needs to be a _lot_ of power. it’s a lot easier to zap a device that’s powered up at the time of zapping, or one that has any long wire connected to it that can act as an antenna.
agree that totally powered-off, offline devices in storage, properly shielded, will almost certainly make it through just fine. Most powered off, offline devices, even not properly shielded, will make it through an atmospheric EMP tripped by a super high altitude nuke, though. If one is close enough (within a couple dozen miles) then there’s a fair chance that the device was zapped by ionizing radiation from the nuke itself going off.
Any device that’s powered up or connected to a long wire (e.g. plugged in to grid power, charger, even a data cable) is much more likely to get zapped in an atmospheric EMP event and if it’s grid-connected it’s almost certain to get zapped.
This kind of zapping is of the lost-of-power frying stuff variety, not of the high-energy-radiation messes with integrated circuits variety. likely the power supplies, data i/o , radio units (eifi, bluetooth, whatever, anything with an antenna) , get zapped, but theres a fair chance that e.g. a memory cell even in such a device could still be read if it could be extracted and attached to a working device.
Given the level of chaos and disorder following such an event, it is very unlikely anyone will have the leisure to play puzzle pieces with consumer electronics , especially without most of the working industry infrastructure around him to support his effort with specialty parts and equipment. so yes those devices will be trash but their flash memory will likely still be readable.
the rf/microwave level radiation at sufficient energy levels to fry even offline and unpowered devices, is likely to only be found , again, rather close to ground zero.
anyway i wanted to keep the distinction between stuff getting zapped by high power surges of low energy radiation, as in an induced atmospheric EMP, and stuff getting zapped by its own power being let loose on a random rampage by low power bursts of high energy radiation, and stuff getting bona fide zapped by high power bursts of rf or ionizing radiation even if it has no other power applied at the time. the latter two conditions would only be found rather near (a dozen or two miles) from the actual nuke going off, the first of the three will be experienced over a wide area.

1. What constitutes a “long cable”? To me that is 1 feet or longer.
2. Which devices can be actively used that don’t have any 1 feet or longer cable connected to it, internally or externally? Even a WiFi antenna gets into the 1 ft. length range, inside a laptop.
3. Yes, there is a current induced in longer cables, but what really fries stuff is the voltage spike. And the quicker/shorter/higher slew rate the pulse is, the higher the voltage.

Erasing bits in (but not permanently damaging) flash-based storage is something I haven’t thought of yet. As a regular flash stick or SSD drive should be powered on every half year, to not have bits randomly flip from capacitor discharge, my first guess would be that recently used flash storage should be pretty “hard” to such radiation effects, at levels which don’t kill the owner either.
agree that a foot is already a long wire in this context. wifi and mobile antennas definitely qualify as long wires. flash cells do degrade fidelity over time, but powering up the storage device (be it a chip or an assembly with flash chips like a usb drive etc) is not enough to refresh the individial flash cells – you’d need to rewrite them to reset the clock on degradation. In cases of any even moderate ionizing radiation i’d consider any electronics of the past decade most susceptible to having flash storage, especially small embedded storage containing firmware (nobody uses old skool burned ROMs anymore) fuzzed and ths the device bricked. if an atmospheric EMP were tripped by nukes at very high altitudes in my AO, but the nukes themselves were detonated over some point a couple hundred miles from here, i would expect that this computer i’m typing on would be toast because it’s plugged in and most of the time left powered up, i would expect the laptop that’s plugged in but almost always powered off, to at least have the power brick and probably the internal power supply on the motherboard to be toast, but the other laptop that’s unplugged and sitting on a shelf , to probably make it just fine, even unshielded, though perhaps if the EMP is strong enough in this area, some things like the wifi card (older laptop with the wifi internally on a secondary card and not directly on the mobo) might get fried but i’d expect it to at least boot up, flash storage and all, supposing i could rig up some solar panels or something or were willing to spend precious diesel on the generator to try the experiment.
If the same nuke were detonated at the same high altitude directly above us i’d be surprised if _any_ of the electronic gadgets less than 20 years old were to function properly. there’s an antique computer from the 80s in the cellar as kind of a reminder of a past career in software, which i would not be all that surprised if it were to boot up even after that.. possibly an icom ham radio rig from the early 90s might make it through , perhaps not. it’s not hooked up to anything, certainly not an antenna, it’s just in storage in the cellar as well.
there are multiple variables one needs to take into account when considering nuke-triggered atmospheric EMP scenarios, and it’s not easy to wrap them all up into a single short answer.. but i dont think it will be as total as described in shtf type movies etc. far from ground zero of the actual nuke, i might expect my daily use phone (10+ year old nokia) to still work if it was not plugged into the charger at the time, but the towers to be toast and certainly the network connecting them to be toast. whether the surge is enough to waste that device just from its internal antennas, mm, it’s a toss-up. and so on and so forth.
of course with power and comms down i expect i will not be caring much about my laptop or phone, but will be much more concerned about the local water supply, which is part pump-fed and part gravity-fed but the gravity fed part of the supply tends to dry to a trickle by late summer. rigging some kind of motor to that to buy us some time til we can come up with a better solution will likely be a much higher priority. if i had the budget personally i’d simply stash some equipment for the contingency but i can barely afford much simpler preps as it is!

My take: Whom ever the gray champion will be, it will be of paramount importance to win the hearts and minds of those they lead. The people will have to be convinced that the candidate has the solution to the their perceived plight. With the Wester World controlled media as the mouth piece for an inept and incompetent Government ever projecting a false narrative that has a negative and direct impact on the audience they are trying to convince that everything is okay and what you see and feel isn’t really what you see and feel ( pissing on our backs and telling us that its raining). When we are bombarded with right speak propaganda 24/7 by a complicit and controlled government MSM machine, it seems that for now they control the narrative in the West. Their veneer is wearing off in my observations. The agreed narrative is waning in the eyes of the brainwashed populace. People are slowly waking up and realizing they have been dooped. This lays the foundation for the gray champion to enter on the scene. Desperation will determine a willingness by the people to whom this leader will be. The West or the East? Why not both? The same will go for the East. It will come down to resolve and willingness in the end. How much are we willing to sacrifice to be right and what are you willing to die for? That will be the only question the people on both sides will need to answer to themselves. I don’t know if you remember, but I first saw you years ago in the attic space behind my “bedroom” in the middle of farm country. I was fourteen, and was playing hide-n-seek with my two-year-old nephew. He was hiding upstairs where he was not allowed to go unless I said he could. Hide-n-seek was an implied okay. I heard him creep up the steps to my bedroom, where he was not allowed out into the attic, but could hide in and around my twin beds and chest of drawers and perhaps, in the “closet” which was just some hanging rods behind my bedroom “wall”, which was just painted plywood and paneling between myself and the roof of the house.
Of course that was exactly where I would find the little rugrat every single time, but only after we played the hide-n-seek game, where I would ask loudly if anyone had seen him! Granny, his PawPaw and, possibly, if she was not waitressing at the Holiday Inn Restaurant nearby to support herself and her son, his mother.
My nephew was born the October after she’d graduated high school. In 1977, a young woman with a child at 18 was expected to marry, but my father, after discussing it at length with her one night outside in an outbuilding for what seemed like hours to my mother and I, reading and not talking about it and not talking at all. As it later was told me, she said she’d gotten pregnant the very first time and it was awful and she’d decided she really didn’t love the guy, but had just wanted to have sex like all her friends were doing.
It was the Seventies, you realize.
When she returned to the house, eyes red and swollen, she’d barely glanced my way, if at all (our lives digressed very early, for some reason, and the bridge never repaired).
Anyway, my nephew was welcomed and adored in our home, but it did create serious scandal for my mother, who was very active in the local General Baptist community.

But, I disagree with your war thesis. This Fourth Turning isn’t going to be a kinetic world war fought with guns, radio, tanks, submarines, airplanes, and nukes. Those were the new warfare inventions of the last 4th Turning cycle. This is a psy-op war being wage through the media and internet. It’s being fought through AI, anonymous forums, crypto, social media, and digital investment platforms. I believe the Psy-Op 4th Turning began at the turn of the Millennium. It began with Y2K, crash of the dotcom bubble, 9/11 and the invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Right now I think we’re at the end of the 4th Turning and we’re waiting on a surrender from the Deep State. Putin attacked Odessa at the beginning of the week. That was the last port to capture to make Ukraine land locked and the entire country surrounded. . That’s why Pelosi, Schiff, McConnell, Jill Biden are flocking to Ukraine right now and trying to pass a $40 billion lend-lease bill. There was a “bank run” on the crypto markets this week because the banks are running out of liquidity because of the interest rate hikes. The hedge funds attacking our markets with short selling are the CIA and intelligence agencies. This isn’t the beginning of the big conflict, it’s actually the end. Thanks for another thoughtful 4T article. They always make me reflect on what’s happening and what’s to come. Perhaps we need to tweak out 4T generational model. The previous Prophet generations took charge during a crisis while around age 60. In the last 4T, Churchill and MacArthur were among the older leaders and they were mid-60s. Today, America’s rulers are pushing 80. That means that the Millennial Generation has been kept from a ‘hero’ role and now enters mid-life as more of a ‘lost generation.’ Teaching puts me in daily contact with Gen Z: They are teamwork-oriented and have the stuff to be a hero generation. Don’t believe the stories about how hopeless they are. The ones I’ve seen in school after school are a pretty solid bunch, much more traditional in their morals than their Summer of Love elders, and much nicer than the Lord of the Flies crowd of my 1970s coming-of-age. The Boomers having held onto power for longer than past Prophet generations shifts the model forward in time, casting Gen Z in the Hero role. Just as the Civil War happened off-cycle, so is the timing of our Crisis producing a variation on the basic 4T timeline.
I am not alone in seeing promise in Gen Z. I was at an International Armed Forces dinner in Detroit recently, where US/UK/Canadian/Polish vets gather annually to renew old bonds of wartime friendship. The keynote speaker was a navy captain, and he told us, as an ROTC instructor and former aircraft carrier deck officer, that the teenagers who do the grunt work to operate our carriers, submarines and other high-tech platforms are smart, reliable, loyal and dedicated, and that we should ignore media stories spotlighting the ones who aren’t.
That’s my two cents. Gen Z is the seedbed of the heroes and heroines who will save us – if we are to be saved this time.
