I don’t know the exact number but there are numerous ISDs in Texas that allow conceal carry by administrators & teachers. They advertise this fact on signage out side the schools. There has not been 1 incident in any of these schools.

Over 97% of all mass shootings have taken place in “gun free zones”

Take a look at the Israeli system for school security. Here’s a link to a story, but the short version is that the answer is not gun control but actual security. Novel idea, eh?

https://www.lifezette.com/2022/05/israel-leads-the-way-in-school-security/

A major element of Israeli security is behavioral profiling. All the mass shooters here have telegraphed their problems and almost all have had contact with the FBI. So how do they pass NICS checks to buy guns? Also part of the profiling should be current or previous use of behavior altering drugs–drugs with know lasting side effects: Prozac, Xanax, Ambien, Trazodone, Zoloft, Paxil, Ritalin, Luvox, Effexor, Celexa and their generic equivalents. Watch Big Pharma’s reaction, if you suggest this! John Noveske showed the connection, and we know what happened to him.

Allow teachers to conceal carry with yearly qualifying and or employ one of the many veterans to, again, conceal carry on school grounds. Then the only places that would get shot up would be demoncrap controlled areas and schools. But make no mistake, the gop has no interest in protecting anyone either…

Best option for safety… home school… Where your children will get a real education

In PA, teachers have to go through 198 hours of training to retain their teaching certificate. These could easily be in weapons training, etc. Teachers are the last line of defense. Most would do anything to PROTECT their kids. I am a retired teacher and ALWAYS carried a small pistol, never telling anyone. It wouldn’t be as good as an AR but it gave us a chance. I practiced every day at 35 feet, which was the length of my classroom. My door was always locked. I figured if I had to defend my students with a weapon I wasn’t allowed to have and there were legal repercussions later – oh well.
As a teacher, I always thought of myself as every student’s dad. Not their friend, but friendly. Most of the teachers I knew felt the same. We would die protecting our kids.
An armed teacher is the last line of defense. Should there be other lines – sure. BUT THE TEACHER IS THE LAST LINE.

And these days, Prozac, Xanax, Ambien, Trazodone, Zoloft, Paxil, Ritalin, Luvox, Effexor, and Celexa are the alternative to parenting. These drugs have lasting side effects and have been implicated in most mass shootings, as well as many suicides. John Noveske researched 42 and published his results on Facebook. Shortly after that he died in a single care accident on a country road in dry daylight conditions. Don’t mess with Big Pharma or the CIA or NSA.

Being prescribed with the above drugs within the last ten years should make a person ineligible to buy a gun. Should be part of the NICS background check.

Only if they act to stop the shooter. If they stand around for an hour or so, it probably would not be a deterrent.

No.

Many of the schools have had a “resource officer” on campus but given the size of consolidated schools, even here in Podunk, WV., it can be 5 minutes before they reach the other side. Also, many of the PROs are either there because they got slapped on the wrist for doing something stupid (DUI, roughing up someone, etc.) or milking the end of a career. Not the fittest of the bunch.

As Brian posted, competent, well trained staff would certainly be a more imposing deterrent, greatly altering the ratio of students/defenders.

The fact of not knowing how many/location of armed staff would, at least, be on the mind of these psychopaths.

Or not.

But they would be confronted MUCH sooner when entering a school.

Point is, more guns, more safety. No one charges police stations. Except in Hollywood.

I used to work at Disney World and once a year we had a wine selling event in the German Pavilion when a German actor would sit there dressed up in old fashioned garb and pretend to be King Ludwig II (1845-1886). He would autograph your wine bottles if you bought them.

I cannot tell you how many people asked me if he was the REAL King Ludwig II. At first, I would respond: “Weeeellll, King Ludwig II lived from 1845-1886.” That would shut up 95% of the people after a minute of thinking but then there were always those few who responded: “M’kay, but is it HIM???”

After a while, I just got sick of dealing with the dumb people and I just told them that, yes, that is in fact the real King Ludwig II. How cool is that, that a real king would choose to sit at Disney World in 90 degree weather and personalize your merchandise?!

The issue of violence is not limited to schools. For example, there have been a few stories of physicians killed in hospitals by disgruntled patients or coworkers over the years. With your argument, there need to be armed guards at the entrance of every workplace and every business.

Real violence (not these fake shootings), in my opinion, is rooted to large degrees in the abysmal state of mental health in this country overall, and the absence of access to help regarding mental health and crisis situations. Of course, often the mental health issues start in schools.

And the circle closes.

Not everything is fake.

Regarding armed guards everywhere due to violence…well that’s why I’m a huge supporter of guns and constitutional carry. I’m a firm believer that if people know there’s a possibility that you’re armed, then violence would drop. I mean, how many gun stores do your hear about getting shot up??

If positioned somewhere outside and above the school (variety of positions, sniper style), out of sight, where he could shoot and kill, if necessary to stop them, any SOB approaching in a threatening manner unwilling to stop, drop and spread them upon bullhorn command, I think armed guards just might make a difference.

Otherwise? No.

Oh, and if you think I’m being stupid about having snipers at the school? Well, you are talking about putting the children in all elementary schools in prison with an armed guard, so who is stupid now? Do you know what children raised in prisons become?

Prisoners.

Possibly, assuming the armed guard actually intends to stop a school shooter and has the training and skills to do so. Cops in Uvalde cared more about saving their own asses than the kids, and even stopped parents from intervening.

Ditching gun free zones around schools and allowing teachers who are already conceal carry holders to carry on school grounds would be a better place to start.

At the next school shooting, I expect to start seeing armed parents going in to save their own children because the cops have shown they aren’t going to protect kids.

Maybe if we put “armed guards” on the street corners of Chicago or Baltimore we’ll end the shootings there, too.

I reject the premise.

If there’s no mass, there can be no mass shootings.
If there’s no school, there can be no school shootings.
Home School, or get together with 5-10 like minded parents and hire tutors.
It’s more difficult.
It’s more cumbersome.
It’s more expensive (especially sans moneys taken from others at theoretical or literal gunpoint).
It’s less “convenient” to actually raise your own children.
Get rid of Dept of Ed.
Get rid of leftist activist school boards.
Get rid of teachers’ unions.
Get rid of Property Tax.

Or, keep doing things for the convenience of having the state own and raise your recklessly spawned offspring, and keep experiencing the known and expected consequences (like having your little boy come home demanding he’s a little girl, or having your 4th grader taught – in explicit detail – the joys of anal sex, etc, etc, etc).
End it, or quit bitching.

It is quite obvious by now that our highly regulated but non-performing, publicly forced education is a total failure. Screw vouchers and return the taxes. Fire or jail the govt admin slugs for fraud against the public trust, sell assets to motivated private concerns to pay off county bonds and fill with teachers and students who care to teach/learn something of demonstrable value.

Let each school be contractually responsible and insured to plot out effective security policy based on staffing competency and local level of civilized conduct. Maybe offer ROTC (or Jr Citizen Militia). This isn’t political rocket science.

Or let propagandist grandstand while the present, damaging, make-work institutions continue fiscally, intellectually, and morally descending into the muddy bottom for another hopelessly confused generation of drowned citizens who can not conceive that communities must be locally engaged to live and grow.

The question/premise above may be incorrect.

The real question is: WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE GIANT, CENTRALIZED GOVERNMENT INDOCTRINATION CENTERS CALLED “SCHOOLS”?!

However, to address the point…

It’s not so much of whether or not armed officers will prevent shootings, forever. If that is the standard, then the standard would be based on a logical fallacy.

Armed security is put in place to send a message AND let everyone know that even though it may not prevent the event, there is a good possibility it will prevent the worst possible outcomes, or more. It’s a wild card to prevent predictability because predictability provides for the most likely “success” in any planning – criminal or otherwise.

In my little suburb of 40K, the highschool is one of the larger ones in the country with about 2,400 kids in one giant building/school (there are plenty larger, but 2400 is a good size high school).

They have had (hired) armed County Sheriffs for quite a while – like a decade or more. No one says a thing and there are too few anti-Americans here to give a shit even if they did.

The sheriff here came out in April ’20 and publicly stated refusal to enforce mask and other requirements.

I lived the whole time like it wasn’t happening because of that one guy making the decision based on his OATH.

They are still using some common sense here and it shows and makes life A LOT better.

Cops (with guns) in schools has almost no downside except liberal and teachers union bitching – and that’s not a downside!

You’re asking if a government solution (an armed guard) would be a solution to a government created problem (unprotected mass indoctrination centers).
Sure, of course it would work.
That’s the design of the Hegelian Dialectic.
When it doesn’t work, and creates more problems, just add the next government solution.
Or choose Option C, and homeschool your children, and the QOTD is moot.
Marksmanship, gun and edged weapon training and safety should be included with martial arts training to not only increase self discipline and esteem, but so that self protection is not a taboo subject.

Unfortunately most school staff is soft, green, and cowardly NEA material. Mass shooters will always find society’s softest targets. Question: How many mass shootings have occurred at gun shows?

In Canuckistan, there are no armed guards at schools or any such thing. There is also no due process or even evidence required that a serious crime is in progress. Apparently there is no need for any of that, since Canuckistan cops can resort to Minority Report techniques……An individual who merely is seen carrying a what looks like a lethal weapon anywhere near a residential area, that by default also has schools, is just instantly shot dead.

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-man-fatally-shot-by-police-was-carrying-a-fake-rifle-near-schools-in/

Read the MSM report above and note the most basic and important questions are NOT answered:

– Was there any threats made by the individual carrying a pellet gun? – Doesn’t say
– Was there any previous firearms or violent crimes committed by this individual? – Doesn’t say
– Were there any online threats or manifesto published by by this individual? – Doesn’t say
– What were the words, if any, exchanged between the individual and the police prior to his execution? – Doesn’t say
– What was the reason the individual was walking down the street with a pellet gun? – Says “we don’t know” – I guess it was just too much effort for police to detain and ask him, so they just shoot him dead instead

Here is what the article DOES say:

“An autopsy is scheduled for the weekend.” – Right, because they have no idea how someone shot by the police died.
“Police and school officials caution that they have little information about the Toronto man or his motives” – i.e. likely not known to police and likely no criminal history, but we can’t take any chances!!!!
“This event did not happen on school property,” – slaughtering citizens is now called an “event”
“The Special Investigations Unit will eventually release a public report about these events.” – long after its been forgotten, and it will be done very quietly
“NDP Leader Andrea Horwath issued a statement thanking Toronto Police and saying that “guns have no place on our streets.”” – What a Scumbag – thanks police for shooting someone dead, without due process, with firearms that she says in the same sentence “have no place on our streets”
“Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca also thanked police. “As a parent of two young daughters, this is any parent’s worst nightmare,” he said.” – another Scumbag pol thanking police for shooting someone dead without due process because “this” is any parents worst nightmare. What “this” is this idiot referring to? Do you think he’s taking about the nightmare for the parents of the 27 year old? Or the “nightmare” about the manufactured panic and trauma, since no kids were harmed or were even in danger? (rhetorical questions).

Look – don’t mean to rant here – but I’m pissed as I write this. Seems I live in a totalitarian police state without due process where cops can kill with impunity anyone who merely APPEARS like they are intent on doing harm. And I seriously doubt this individual was either intent or capable on doing much, if any harm. In many ways I hope I’m wrong….but a pellet gun? Seriously? Not a lethal weapon. I’ve been shot by a pellet gun many times back in the day – welts and bruises, nothing more. Sure, they can be harmful. Yes, walking down the street with one in this day and age is likely to send some kind of message (yet in our teenage years we walked down our residential street into the forest with our pellet guns and – nothing was thought or said about it).

But the way I see it – we, you, I – the minions and serfs – will never hear anything resembling the truth about this “event” from the police or MSM. Doesn’t fit the narrative. And the narrative must remain manufactured, reinforced, and amplified – even if citizens have to be shot dead in the street because of it.

I’m sorry Stucky – this was not meant to hijack this thread, so I will now just answer your question:

Q: WOULD AN ARMED GUARD IN EVERY SCHOOL IN AMERICA PREVENT THESE MASS SHOOTINGS?
A: Prevent, No. Dissuade, possibly. Reduce casualties, probably. But an armed guard in every school in Canuckistan would never happen and would be completely unnecessary since drug gangs and cops commit almost all of the fatal shootings – right out in the streets.

Just like the Nova Scotia massacre a couple years ago, we’ll never get the full story of what really happened with the shenanigans in Toronto yesterday. Just like how Trudeau tried equate the Trucker protest to the US January 6 event, they’re desperate to use US shootings and any other firearms incident as a reason to ban guns here in Canada.

You only just noticed you live in a totalitarian police state? Canada has been a police state for some time.

Some highlights of our government putting their boots on our faces over and over:
– When the government changed the law so that a police officer can demand a breathalyzer sample from you at any time without cause up to 2 hours after you arrive home.
– When the government instituted a travel ban for those who refuse to show papers, and causing millions of Canadians to be effectively trapped in their own country.
– When the government paid off all major media outlets, making them propaganda outlets for the government.
– When the government invoked martial law using the Emergencies Act to deal with the Trucker protest and continues to lie about the specific reasons why.
– When the government began using Order in Council notices to ban certain firearms because they couldn’t get it passed into law.
– When government started arresting and locking up pastors, restaurant owners and peaceful protesters whose only crimes were speaking out against the government.

Canada is no longer the true north strong and free. I voted provincially yesterday and was dismayed to see a Dominion tabulation machine being used to count my paper ballot. I expect the police state will continue because our votes no longer count and our voices are no longer heard by our leaders.

100% on all the above. I have been fully aware for some time I’m living in a police state but I can’t recall such an obvious and fatal overreach based solely on self-aggrandizing, baseless, unfounded, institutionalized, brainwashed, fabricated panic – solely on account of unrelated events 1000s of miles away. A new low, even for these evil a-holes.

Here’s a real novel solution:

Get rid of state schools and you get rid of school shootings.

No public schools, no public school shootings. There, that was so hard…

A single target becomes just that. I have no issue regarding one or more armed folks there for protection, but it should be between the parents and the school administration from which they have PRIVATELY contracted educational services. The root problem of course is the presence of government monopoly day prisons in our society, incarcerating children for 12 years in a prison-like environment that pretends to educate them. We should begin by abolishing ALL government involvement in education including theft to pay for it, and allow ONLY a fully competitive marketplace of businesses and individuals to provide educational services. Those that provide the best security, education, etc. will remain in business, and those that do not, will not.

And when was the last time you heard of anyone shooting up a homeschool?

Mass shootings are the result of mentally disturbed people. Someone please explain to me how these nut jobs can make it through 12 years of government schools without someone noticing they have serious psychopathic tendencies? Idiotic gun laws will not prevent crazy people from doing evil things. Only mental health screenings and early identification of these people will prevent this from happening.

In this instance, though — if this tranny showed up at the gun store in his ‘garb’ of skirt and makeup — I’d fault the gun store for not at least asking some sort of questions of him because such an appearance would be a dead giveaway to some sort of mental illness or another …

I would say it depends. Is said officer going to act like the cowards in Texas did, or would they actually do their job?

Yes. And teachers, counselors, and staff need to learn threat assessment.

Too many of these kids are spun up on psychpharmeceuticals and have zero parenting. No different than identifying potential terrorists (I know, same thing) if the threat can be identified before violence outcomes can be changed before the shooting starts.

They’ve learned ‘threat assessment’ … they learned it the minute the classes were shut down and everything was Zoom-ed to students at home — and the parents found out what was being passed on to their children under the guise of ‘education’ … and then those parents decided to take matters into their own hands …

Pretty sure a non-corrupt government actually for the people would help.
Or even (lol) an FBI that didn’t FF the fuck out of mentally ill, easily mkultra’d fucktards and send them off to cause pain and destruction to finally convince enough of america to give up it’s guns.
I gave the latest a 9/10 on the emotional score, but the details are starting to destroy the narrative on this one as well…
It’s all so tiring.

Probably not. What’s clear is that the stationing of ‘guards’ at the school make it indistinguishable from a prison yard.

No, but if a stupid janitor had not propped the door open then this would have been isolated.
All doors to schools are to be locked from the outside during the school hours. PERIOD!

Most schools already have an “Armed guard” which is no more than a retired fat ass townie cop that generally gets killed or runs when the shit goes down. We need to bring back the “long arm of the law” and start performing public hangings. I am a fan of the guillotine. Also we need to start opening up mental institutions again. Liberal progressive policies have softened punishment for criminals and did away with the nut houses.

well, no, seeing how the main cause of these ‘mass shootings’ seems to be leftist politicians trying to disarm the citizens.
the generally miserable condition these days of the youth and the ‘education’ system, the schools that look and function more like prisons than schools, the huge fraction of the population, even children, who have been put on some mind-altering ‘medication’ or another to keep the pharma industry ticking off profits, the fact that the majority of today’s youth has been twisted this way and that by growing up in an electronic disneyland instead of out in the fresh air with other humans, these things make for very fertile ground whenever some politician wants to stri up more ‘gun violence’ to try to justify disarming the citizens.. again and again til they get what they want.
funny how there arent any ‘mass shootings’ in the circles of homeschooled kids brought up in loving (but not indulgent, the two are poles apart!) traditional families , free of chemical and electronic narcotics, who are close to the top of the list of whom the power freaks want to disarm, coincidentally…
