* United States v. Miller 1939 says the 2nd applies to firearms suitable and appropriate for use in an organized militia. That means military guns. This should have made the NFA 1986 law invalid.
* District of Columbia v. Heller 2008 says 2nd is an individual right to possess unconnected with a militia
* McDonald v. City of Chicago 2010 says the 2nd and 14th support right to possess a handgun in the home for self defense.
* Caetano v. Massachusetts 2016 says the 2nd extends to all forms of bearable arms including those not in existence at the time of the founding.
