Pope Francis has been advocating for peace between Ukraine and Russia. He has condemned Russia’s “brutality” and said he believes Putin miscalculated the duration of the war. “They encountered a brave people, a people who are struggling to survive and who have a history of struggle,” he said. Yet the Pope is now coming under pressure for suggesting that the war could have been avoided. No one has more “behind the curtain” information than the Vatican.
Before Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, there were signs that NATO and Ukraine were “barking at the gates of Russia.” Even the Pope has admitted the West was eager for war profits and that the conflict was “either provoked or not prevented.”
The head of the Catholic Church stated: “But the danger is that we only see this, which is monstrous, and we do not see the whole drama unfolding behind this war, which was perhaps somehow either provoked or not prevented. And note the interest in testing and selling weapons. It is very sad, but at the end of the day that is what is at stake,” he added. This is not a matter of “good and bad” as the “roots and interests [are] very complex.”
Furthermore, Pope Francis met with an unnamed Russian head of state shortly before the war began. He noted, as I have reported, that Russia was fearful of an imminent attack. “Yet here the situation is even more complex due to the direct intervention of a ‘superpower’ aimed at imposing its own will in violation of the principle of the self-determination of peoples,” he explained. This war is far more complex than Russia v Ukraine. It has become a proxy war instigated by NATO.

Same here Anon. The blatant hypocrisy was too much for me to swallow and I bailed just after high school. And this was long before we learned priests were raping children in confessionals.
I was raised Catholic too and learned nothing from Catholicism. Their 10 commandments aren’t the original ones and they do worship Mary as well as having statutes and other displays which are forbidden. Proud Baptist now.
We have 3 Baptist churches on our gravel road. I am considering going to one of them.

The Catholic Church is struggling. It would have to, considering the state of the people today. Pope Francis is not really doing his job, and that causes us Catholics a lot of pain.
I, for one, am getting used to it. Because waaayyy before Francis, the other popes have dropped the ball, the bishops have failed in their duties, and the priests have gone astray, along with the religious. They all bear responsibility for this. But the ones really at fault are the laity. People get the leaders they deserve.
The hierarchy failed with the homos/pedos. There is absolutely no doubt about that. But how is that same dynamic working out with the protestants? The Jews? The public skools? The higher-ups in the Gov’t? The folks you turn to for entertainment? The corporations who you buy from?
Yeah…thought so…
Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the mother of GOD*. She, herself is not a god. But if one were to love her to the same extent the her Son does, you would avoid ‘worshipping’ the idols that you do now.
Mary is the Zenith, the Apex, the Epitome of what man should be, what man can be, and what man would have been had Adam not sinned. When you are lost, look to her, and ask for her help. Christ will not refuse her intercessions on your behalf. If you ever ask anyone to pray for you…then you should also be willing to ask her to pray for you. She is available and acting in heaven for us. You can have no better advocate before the Holy Trinity.
* When God became man, he took on a human nature. A person with a human nature can do everything any other person with a human nature can. He can be born, he can suffer, and he can die. God became man. Jesus Christ, God Incarnate, had a mother. Mary was that mother. Without Mary, Christ could not have died for your sins and thus redeemed you. It seems a bit odd that one would denigrate the Mother of God, but then expect God to bless him. Or at least it seems so to me…

I don’t really understand the mindset. Jesus Christ had all eternity to plan exactly who He would have for His mother. He gave the 4th commandment to Honor Thy Father and Mother. Does anyone really think that He will be happy with those who denigrate and disrespect His mother?
I was once like you. GOD has no mother he said “I am that I am.” Mary was a vessel and caretaker for Jesus and that’s it. 1st Commandment is You shall have no other gods before me. Yet Mary is elevated even above god. On the rosary you say 10 Hail Mary’s to every Our Father. You are worshipping a dead woman, she hears NOTHING from you. I hope you’ll wake up one day as I did.

That is the Hail Mary; two scriptural citations, one spoken by an angel, and the other spoken by a woman who was “filled with the Holy Ghost.” (Luke 1:41), followed by a request that she pray for you.
Hardly seems like worship to me. Love, immense respect and trust, certainly, but not worship. Again, I sure would not want to see Our Lord at the final judgement, after spending my life saying that His mother wears combat boots or some such insult.
God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the God of the living, not the dead. Mary, the mother of our Lord is more fully alive now than she ever was here on earth. That is what all Christians aspire to.
