Hispanic is a made up name that has been used to broadly categorize people from Mexico, Central and South America and a few Caribbean islands. A friends wife was a Spanish citizen and would get furious when someone referred to her as a Hispanic.
Obviously, this woman has never watched one of the NYC cop shows and learned how to pronounce bodega.
This couple is not ready for prime time and everyone is seeing it daily.
You’re right about the word Hispanic. It surprises me how few people realize this. I just call them Mexicans…the people from Mexico. Hispanic is not accurate.
