I have an old friend (Chinese American…born here raised in North Carolina) I just reconnected with…him and wife and two kids recently came back from over 18 years in China, Christian Missionaries…but working for an international company as a cover.
I saw him twice over that time when they came home to see family.
He gave our small (new & revitalized) church an amazing hour power point on their time in China…stories of conversions, church plantings, miracles, and powerful real life God moments. I have another close friend and his wife who visited them in China many years ago.
My friend got the word their cover was broken and they had to suddenly and immediately leave China overnight…leaving most of their possessions behind.
I am going to connect with him, and see what he knows…and will tell me…he has contacts.
I kept a magnetic picture of him and his family on our refrigerator for at least a decade…prayed for them countess times. I think from what he has told me about Church plantings and their spread (as far as head count) there are more real Christians in China then in the US.
A friend of ours has been living in Beijing for 3 years now, was transferred there by the company. I can’t imagine accepting such an assignment.

Spent time there in 00s. China can be a powder keg; however, watching clips on TBP has shown that the people are now fairly subdued and the social credit system seems to be what subdued them. They have been indoctrinated for a long time. Look at the average 20 something here, and you’ll see the average 50 something and below there. I know because I was with one for 10 years.
