Fighting for the voiceless: The Death of Franca Panettone

Guest Post by Justin Hart

The story below is very hard to get through. It was related to our colleague Megan Mansell last year by the family of Franca Panettone. I recounted this terrible incident briefly with Mike Rowe on his podcast. Frankly, I got a bit emotional.

The story below is why we still fight and why we need YOU in the fight. This is why I wrote GoneViralBook.com

Fighting for the voiceless: Franca Panettone’s family hopes her tragic COVID death will bring changes

BY MEGAN MANSELL
(originally posted here)

Franca Panettone was born on November 3, 1973, and died on April 6, 2020

For Franca Panettone, the quick path to a tragic demise began March 28, 2020, with a fever and cough. Franca was a vibrant, spirited, 46-year-old woman who had a passion for going to church and singing, was close-knit with her family, and was largely nonverbal with Down Syndrome. She also loved the color purple. Franca’s sister Maria, who served as her healthcare surrogate, was with her during the fateful emergency room visit, as Franca was unable to advocate for herself or understand medical terminology.

The first doctor they saw told Maria she would be able to stay alongside Franca, but once Franca was admitted and transferred to a different part of the hospital, a temperamental charge nurse told Maria she was not allowed to be there, going so far as walking her to car. Maria was denied entrance in spite of identifying herself as Franca’s healthcare surrogate and was told that her presence as Franca’s advocate was against hospital policy. She said it was as if her sister had been taken – but what came next was both unexpected, inhumane, and  a disgusting abuse of power that resulted in a heinous act against a defenseless woman that can never be undone.

Franca’s tale is worthy of being told, and laws should be enacted in its wake to shield other families from similar disgraceful paths of grief and suffering.

Franca did not know the masked strangers or understand how to make medical decisions for herself. She became frustrated and was restrained. At the same time, her family was not told of the progress of her ailing health, and they were denied hospital access and left defenseless as Franca writhed in bed restraints without access to disability rights medical advocacy or her family, who had legal authority over her well-being. She became a prisoner who had committed no crime, a captured woman.

Franca’s treatment and her family’s lack of access were horribly surprising for everyone, as they had no warning of this possibility but did not want to deny Franca her necessary care.

The family received a mere 5 phone calls from doctors during the duration of Franca’s stay. A lot of questions were left unanswered throughout the ordeal, and they requested HCQ to be administered but were denied. They were told she was getting fluids and that her fever wasn’t breaking. Franca was given the phone once over the first two days. She was tired, was on a lot of medication, and spoke very little in general, so it was a brief call. Franca’s family wondered whether the hospital used a similarly inadequate form of communication with their deaf patients.

The family was told she was being treated for sepsis, but Franca spoke in short sentences with limited vocabulary and was incapable of understanding what this meant or which treatment options were available. Communication was choppy and lacking. It took two days before an infectious disease doctor contacted the family, during which time Franca had no contact with the outside world.

Franca’s family is haunted by the knowledge that she was strapped to a bed for 10 days in the custody of total strangers who were touching her, changing her, and feeding her, while she was utterly helpless and unable to understand what was happening.

Family members from all over the country were trying to reach the hospital to contact her or get updates, with no success. The doctor who finally touched base said she had a bad case of pneumonia. A COVID test was done on March 29, with test results received April 1, but the family was not notified of the COVID positive test until April 2. Throughout, Franca was denied HCQ, family access, and representation as she lay dying, alone and scared, in a strange place surrounded by strangers.

Between April 2 and April 6 (the date of Franca’s death), the family received little communication back from the hospital, and although they requested a patient advocate from the hospital, one was not provided. Franca reportedly became jumpy and anxious, behavior that was unusual before her hospitalization. She was in a room completely by herself. The family was not told she was restrained; they only learned that after her death, when they reviewed her medical chart. The family was not told she had been put on a ventilator until 7 hours after the fact, and they were not told she had been put on life support, nor did they consent, as they wanted a DNR (a Do Not Resuscitate order).

Her family was told on the day of her death that they could be physically present with her as she died if they would sign the DNR, so they verbally agreed, but they were still not allowed to be with her, although the hospital’s website said that exceptions to their no-visitor policy could be made for end-of-life situations. They watched her die via FaceTime on an iPad that was brought out to the parking lot by a nurse.

Although Franca’s official time of death was 1:56 a.m., the medical chart notations showed that her vital signs were taken hours after her death, at 3:54 a.m. and 3:55 a.m.. The next time Franca’s family saw their beautiful ray of sunshine, she lay in repose, the spark having escaped the woman they loved, a woman whose life was important. Everyone in this country should know the name Franca Panettone. Would Franca have had a different outcome if she’d had advocacy, a competent voice, and access to medical clarity and open communication?

How many hospital patients have died like Franca? How many died like Franca today? Will we ever know?

Hospitals are now death camps where medical officials can experiment on you and get paid to kill you.

Why families like this didn’t storm the hospital to save loved ones is a mystery. Before 2020 nobody would have stood for a family member being taken hostage with no contact or a say in medical decisions, not to mention watching someone die on FaceTime.

This article is just one story. The same or similar happened thousands, if not tens of thousands, of times across the country. My neighbor was slaughtered in one of these modern abattoirs in early to mid 2021.
When admitting to having been a hospital doctor (or nurse) during this period is treated the same in the public eye as admitting to having been a Nazi concentration camp guard; then, maybe, we can talk about moving on and trusting “doctors” again.
Maybe.

My uncle was.killed by a serial killer nurse in tye VA hospital in Northampton Massachusetts. She had already killed at least a dozen times before him, and killed even more before they figured out that they had a problem.

I don’t trust hospitals or Doctors for that matter. The only medical professionals I trust work at the local veterinary clinic.

Disgusting. Shame. Totally heartless hospitals and staff. This is the “humanity” people want to save? I get the hate for Fauci and Klaus and company. But the nurses and doctors all played their part without batting an eye. At the end of the day, regular people are committing these atrocities against other people. Heartless, thoughtless order following useless shit-eating repeaters, carrying out others diktats should be the “humanity” that gets exterminated. How awful for Franca Panettona, to have to experience this “humanity”. Humanity is going ZERO.

God sums humanity up very well…

Romans 3:10-18 KJB… “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

What a fucking shame. Our country needs to apologize to the Germans for their Nazi era. Hospitals are the new death camps and Fauci makes Mengele look like a rank amateur.

I hope her family shoves a lawsuit up their ass.

These hospitals and doctors tie up lawsuits for years also the statute of limitations is a big weapon they use.

What good is a lawsuit compared to a human life? The money is fiat, the time span over which it will be paid makes it valueless, the insurance company passes the burden on to the general public, and the attorneys get paid up front. The new want-a-be doctors, nurses & admin continue on with their sociopathic life as bought and paid for executioners. The legal system dispenses protection to the creators of the of this path of destruction while the victims continue to pile up. This is past sad!

You can’t sue the hospitals if they followed the protocol, ventilator, Remdesivir. They were indemnified when Trump signed the CARES Act and the PREP Act. As long as we are in a “Covid emergency” this is in effect. The Emergency is renewed every 90 days.

So the only individuals that go unprotected are the victims. This is what we in the corrupt USSA are calling justice now.

This happened millions, if not hundreds of millions of times, around the world, to innocent people because they believed in their “medical system.”

These war crimes must be fully addressed before humanity can move on from the murderous abominations of the Pestilence.

Sorry, nothing will happen. Just like every massive crime by our “betters” for the last several centuries. The few punished were just sacrificed as distraction from the real criminals or for going off reservation.

The people will never do anything significant to oppose them. That must be clear to anyone who has been paying attention for the last few decades. Everyone is too busy trying to be a victim.

Humanity peaked last century and it is downhill from here until we fall off the cliff. TPTB will win again and again until their hubris finally tempts them do something irreversibly self destructive.

I know 2 others that were killed through the Covid hospital protocols and they were unable to have anyone with them.

One was in the hospital with her husband in another room also being ‘treated’. He survived, she didn’t after they hooked up the ventilator.

The other was a friend’s dad that was killed through the approved protocol. He was in the hospital alone for a few days and even texted his wife that if he didn’t make it, he’d see her in heaven. Not long after they wrote his death sentence with the ventilator.

The sad thing is that nothing will be done about them and all of the others.

Know two people that died after being put on a ventilator, both from pneumonia brought on after covid. One was about five years younger than myself, the other my age. They both left wives and children behind to grieve for not stopping the hospital from killing their loved ones The photo accompanying the article The Sins of Information Warfare a couple above this one is what I imagine the ventilator to look like, those swords would be like the tube forced down your throat to ones lungs. I have made it clear to my family to NEVER allow them to put me on a ventilator, live or die it’s in God’s Hands, not some quack’s.

Most infuriating article I’ve read in a long time! These SOBS need to hang from lampposts and burn in hell. I have a nephew with Down Syndrome and no father. If something like this happened, restraint would be extremely difficult. Sick MF’rs.

Took my father to an audiologist appointment in Columbia, MO last week, and the stupid fucks are still wearing and requiring masks. You know… the SCIENCE!

The truly mentaly disabled ARE Gods chosen people..we look at them all wrong.Like children they will never know the stresses of responsibilities and daily life.
God holds them harmless,it also makes us our brothers keeper.Like the shepherd. To treat innocents in such a manner will bring a judgement these people are not prepared for!!!

Hospitalized November 8,2021 with COVID. My condition worsened to COVID pneumonia, ARDS, and blood clots in both lungs. November 16, I was basically told I was dying. Do nothing: death was imminent. They gave me the choice of a trachea with a feeding tube that might be permanent or the ventilator. I chose the ventilator. Developed bacterial pneumonia and ventilator-assisted pneumonia. By the grace of God, my condition improved and I was taken off the ventilator December 3. On December 17, I was released from the hospital and went home to recover. One of the most important takeaways from my experience, something that i believe helped me to survive the ventilator; was my ability to still hear things even though I was unconscious. Sedation confuses things but my wife confirmed to me what I thought I heard her say the day before they took me off the vent. Allowing family to be with patients is critical. And talking to a patient is imperative.

It’s a terrible thing ,but the lifespans of someone with down syndrome is only 60 under the best of circumstances . My friends aunt lived to be 51 and that was with a loving family and constant care.If you bring your family members into one of these prison camps called hospitals or nursing homes don’t be surprised when the outcome is death.
