We not only had cars without power steering, none of our tractors had power steering. Don’t recall a regular can opener, but Mom had an opener that you had to jab in the top of the can and then pry up all the way around to open a a can. It left a lot of real sharp edges. We never had too many cans to open since Mom canned everything from tomatoes to meat to carrots, green beans, tomato juice, apple sauce and anything else that needed to be preserved.
I got a M35a2 deuce and a half without power steering. 6×6 and no one wants to borrow it around here because its a monster to maneuver .
Yes on the Power Steering. When I was a child, having Power Steering & Power Brakes was considered a luxury. And if you had Air Conditioning you were rich!!!

Dangerous Things??? I would climb to the top of a 8″ diameter tree and my Cousins would chop it in two and I would ride it down to the ground. That would DEFINITELY be considered dangerous today for kids to do.

The jar on the left side was for spraying carpet cleaner foam … you removed the handle at the top of the unit and screwed the hose in there, which made the unit function in a mode that sprayed …
