I can relate to that. After suffering a minor heart attack and having two stents inserted, I was discharged two days later on a Sunday. On Tuesday I had the worse cramps and spent the entire day on a porcelain thrown. Two days later on Thursday I had a follow-up appointment with a cardiologist and informed him as to what happened on Tuesday, thinking it might possibly be stent or medication related. He said I probably picked up a bug at the hospital and told me to stay away from them if at all possible as they are breeding grounds for illnesses.

That is exactly what they were setting up my 89 year old Father in Law to do at the height of the Covid Con in the VA.
We had to bring him to the VA he looked like he was dying…they x-rayed and tested him and said he had Covid pneumonia, put him on an IV (that he needed) and wanted to discuss with my wife steps they ‘may’ have to take if he got worse. We couldn’t go in the hospital and be with him and could only talk to his doctor and him over the phone.

That makes a little bit more sense – but what exactly causes the fibrin to form, in the blood vessel?
Anything that damages the endothelial lining cells. If blood is exposed to bare connective tissues (that is, tissues that are not lined by a layer of endothelial cells) it will tend to clot, and fairly quickly. This is why we don’t bleed out from a small cut.
As we all know, a large cut across a sizeable blood vessel can quickly lead to death through blood loss. Failure to clot can kill; excessive clotting can kill.
The blood stream and blood vessels, like the entire organism, normally has a certain artful balance. This balance can be disrupted by all kinds of things (poisons, burns, infections, hereditary defects); there are people who make their living dealing with abnormalities in this balance (and I’m not one of them).
So in other words you are saying [regular] bold clotting is getting triggered inside blood vessels.
But from what I remember, to trigger blood clotting a cascade of 17 steps occurs (one of which is genetically broken in hemophiliacs) – and with a little philosophical understanding it is clear nature didn’t make it so complicated out of cockiness, but to prevent accidental/malevolent triggering through a single chemical, protein or virus/bacteria.

1. I think that question is in the process of being worked out. My (relatively uninformed) opinion is that the spike proteins damage the endothelial cell layer, via both mechanically disrupting their cell membranes, and causing the local mobilization of an inflammatory response, reacting to the cell damage.
2. Blood clots (thrombi) have a tendency to get bigger, due to their disrupting the normally smooth flow of blood. If they fragment due to mechanical factors (e.g. turbulence) they can spread quickly (embolize) to more distant downstream locations. This is the cause of pulmonary thrombo-emboli (PTE), a fairly common cause of death, and also of some “strokes” in the brain vasculature.
