Dozens of food processing plants were destroyed and/or damaged last year by “accidental fires.” After several months of a lull in mysterious fires rippling through the food industry, the first major one of the new year was reported by NBC Connecticut on Saturday.
More than 100 firefighters battled a massive fire at a commercial egg farm in Bozrah, Connecticut, on Saturday afternoon.
According to Epoch Times, firefighters spent hours extinguishing a 150-foot-by-400-foot chicken coop at Hillandale Farms, which contained about 100,000 chickens.
A Salvation Army canteen truck was on the scene, providing food. According to the Salvation Army, about 100,000 chickens may have died in the fire. It also said that no injuries had been reported.

Hillandale Farms is one of the largest suppliers of chicken eggs in the US.
Their eggs are found in major supermarkets.
It’s unclear what the fire-damaged Bozrah location will mean for Hallandale Farms’ national egg supply chain. The fire comes at a time when the US suffers from a severe shortage of eggs due to bird flu wiping out tens of millions of egg-laying hens.
Egg shortages have been reported at supermarkets nationwide.
Prices of a dozen Grade A eggs at the supermarket have jumped to astronomical levels.
This could be the start of another string of suspicious fires at food plants. Citing Bloomberg data, news stories for “food plant fire” jumped the most in a decade last year. Odd right?
Some have speculated ‘food processing plants don’t just “accidentally”‘ catch on fire at the rate seen last year. Others are asking: Is the US food supply chain under attack?

i have kept chickens several times in my life & once the flock is mature,we have averaged about 8-9 eggs per 10 birds–
if that holds true in commercial production,that is 80-90,000 eggs /day that have to be replaced-

In KY, Whole Foods has eggs (brown or white) for $3.39 per dozen. They are very rich, bright orange/yellow yolks.
If the eggs are from a commercial supplier the chickens food contains a dye that makes the yolks brighter. They’re fake. sorry to tell you the bad news
Well, there is the $3.95 per dozen lackluster Dollar General Store egg that has a yolk that is just so-so in color. To dye or not to dye, that is the question.
ALL commercial egg producers do one thing, make product with the most appeal (lie) for as cheap as possible. Typical business model.
Having had chickens and grew them in real free range and ‘organically’ I can tell the difference between real and fake. Shortly after the ‘organic; was becoming a thing I knew a guy locally that was already selling fake organic eggs and chicken. Thats when I found out, back in the mid 90’s, that a dye was available to make yolks bright. There is also an additive to thicken the whites, all designed to make you think they are good products, and they aren’t.
If you are buying commercial eggs, likely the cheaper ones don’t contain dyes and additives to their food. So by extension would be healthier. I miss our products.

A fertilizer plant in North Carolina burns today as 5000 tons of fertilizer that were destined for Spring planting are now apparently lost.

About 6,500 people were told to evacuate their homes in Winston-Salem, North Carolina today, when a fire broke out overnight at a fertilizer plant that Winston-Salem Fire Chief Trey Mayo said contained “an estimated 5,000 tons of finished fertilizer.”
The cause of the fire is not known. The facility is inspected by the fire department yearly, Mayo said. The last inspection was in December, and no violations were found.
Taken in isolation, this news story would not be very alarming in terms of its impact on food production in the U.S., as fires at fertilizer plants do happen from time to time and are not that rare. The main focus of this news story being reported in the corporate media is the safety of those close to the fire, as it should be.
But when one considers the fact that the U.S. still imports a significant portion of its fertilizer from China, which stopped exporting phosphate to the U.S. in September last year to allegedly save their supplies for their own farmers, and that potassium chloride from potash comes mainly from Saskatchewan, Canada, where truckers are now protesting COVID vaccine mandates with little to no traffic coming across the borders which is fueling major concerns about fertilizer shortages, and that on top of all that many state organizations for corn, wheat and soybean producers sent a letter to the second largest fertilizer company in the U.S. last December complaining that “tariff barriers” from the second largest fertilizer company in the U.S. were preventing them from buying fertilizers from Morocco and Russia, suggests that perhaps something much more sinister is in play here, with potential disastrous results later this year.

I completely agree, on that subject. I recently stopped by to see an old friend (one of my few woman friends I have had, I hadn’t seen her in years) she use to cut my hair for 15 years back in the day. Strong Christian Lady, Pureblood, long divorced, no kids, late 50’s, walking with a cane from a recent car accident, but a good prognosis. She will recover.
We caught up, got into all the chaos swirling around us…I gave her my thoughts. She knew 13 years ago I went full rural retard (that was when she stopped cutting my hair too long of a drive) building a farm/compound (she is in the burbs outside Raleigh). She had never seen it.
Out of the blue she said can I ask you a question? I said sure, with a worried look on her face she said, “If everything collapses can I come out to your place”?
I looked right in the eye and said “No.” She looked hurt and said “Really, why not”.
I said: “First of all on that type decision I would have to talk to my wife about, especially since you’re my friend and she really doesn’t know you”. The wisdom of that answer washed across her face as she silently nodded I get that.
Then I told her I already have 14 blood and marriage family members that hopefully will make it here EARLY and that brings the total to 17 people living on my farm.
We talked some more and I gave her detailed Prepper advice. We excahanged e-mails and when she contacts me I told her I will send her links to help her get prepared.
Here is a similar story of a couple of good friends (who are extremely wealthy, 20 years younger than my wife and I with two teenaged daughters). They were at my shooting range and we were hanging out for the day, shooting and fishing.
The farm was in full summer bloom, gardens, orchards, arbors, over 20 chickens running around. The wife was looking around in admiration (the husband was shooting with the daughters) and she made a comment (and this was pre-Covid) “If it really gets bad Harry and I have talked coming here would be on the top of our list”.
My expression immediatly reflected spotting that HUGE turd floating in the punchbowl.
I asked her if they had an RV or camper (I knew they didn’t). Then I asked if they had any long term Preps (I knew they didn’t). Then I told her we have plans for 17 family members and there would be no room. She got a little red faced, and changed the subject.
Now this is an outstanding family. We love them…spent 10 years in a Bible study with them. So after talking to my wife I sent them an e-mail that night. I told them if they wanted to put a four person well stocked camper or RV on the farm close to our house I would run power out to it. I also would have room in the basement for other needed preps and would guide them on what to buy.
Then when TSHTF they could hunker down here and join the tribe.
Never heard another word about it.
