Another failure of Government Exposed

Thermodynamics, Thermidorian Reactions, or Lobster Thermidor?

I recently asked a current PhD candidate in the Environmental Science Department if she could differentiate among the three items referenced above which created a quite sad discussion.  I would have laughed 10 years ago but today is quite different. Physics, history and culinary arts are things of mystery for her.  The degree she chose did not even require any hard science courses!  This child was brought up in a financially comfortable WASP background with access to a myriad of educational and entertaining subject matter. Obviously these advantages were as water off of a ducks’ back.  Our educational system is beyond redemption.

The first attempt at educational equality of outcome was a failure like all the succeeding attempts.  Excuses for this failure are endless.  The socialist equality crowd have more excuses than a 16 year old girl at the prom.  Education has now devolved into a gravy train for another host of bureaucrats paid by your sweat as a reward for political loyalty. Back in the late 1960’s there were various lawsuits brought by the Federals against the neighborhood schooling concept in the South.  As a kid at the time, I was in the middle of this swirling pool.  The schools were already integrated in most areas.

This system had middle class blacks schooling with affluent whites while the rural kids were in a de facto segregated system. Money per student in all the schools was equivalent countywide.  It was decided among our intellectual elite Federal governmental types that having a poor black child sitting next to an affluent white child would result in an osmosis effect of intelligence and work ethic.

Forced school busing had arrived. The whites were all branded horrible, evil etcetera for even complaining about the school uprooting our lives.  The rural kids were on the bus at least an hour each way!  Being exhausted from the ride was no way to learn even if you were interested in the subject matter.  Academic scores were unchanged. Even though no riots occurred, the evil southerner racists had been put in their place and the beginnings of the current Puritan tyranny arising in our country burst forth again. The pathetic thing that happened a few years later was that forced busing was required in Boston, the center of moral superiority.  There were riots and people killed.  This tyrannous equality was recently repeated when the illegal aliens were flown to Marthas’ Vineyard.  Good enough for thee but not for me as always. These pompous clowns were thrown out of England centuries ago and ended up here to our disadvantage, perhaps we could send them back or ask for a refund.

After a few years of experimentation the bus kids could not keep up and a new program had to be developed  according to the propaganda of that era.  Enter Jimmy Carters’ Department of Education. The department was staffed by the Northern Seminarians of course.  These religious fanatics were obviously the best choice because of their experience in instructing their help.  More money from the Feds was obviously the answer.  There were of course a few “minor” adjustments required by the Feds to qualify for this funding for local schools and colleges.

Today to qualify for the funds, jumping through hoops for fun and profit by local education majors is the order of the day. Over fifty years the major advancement in our education system is not the advancement of knowledge but the advancement of diversity. Diversity is short for the lowest common denominator.  The requirements for a teaching certificate have dissolved to a level of almost basic literacy in many jurisdictions.  New York allows teachers to hold classes when that are not able to qualify to the subject matter.  Of course 60% of the high school graduates  in Baltimore are functionally illiterate.  Standards do not exist.

The college system is fed by huge infusions of tax money and they will do anything to grab more.  They have shown repeatedly that the US Constitution is a factor to be ridiculed and ignored in their industry.  The title 9 charade using the Court of the Star Chamber for alleged sexual misconduct is a perfect example.  The real question for the administrators of the college is “what will you do for money”? At least a street prostitute provides a service for a fee.

The college loan program is a noose around the neck of the foolish child that takes the money.  The syllabus and requirements for admission have been reduced so that a score of 80 on the IQ test makes you admissible.  This allows degrees in art history and sexual identity studies for droves of previously unqualified customers.  Money also provides jobs for the three administrators employed  for each professor.  The real insult and injustice is that the kids that went out and got an after school job or parents who worked overtime to pay tuition for their kids are also paying taxes to fund the slugs who are getting their debts forgiven by Joe Bribe‘em.

The results are self evident.  Listen to the Vice President of the United States of America if you can bear it. She has a legal degree and passed the bar.  Fixing elections requires a bit of work.  Fixing school test results is a mere bagatelle.  The newest members of the judiciary are literate, well mostly, but defining a woman is difficult even if you are a Supreme Court justice. They do know to whom they answer of course.  It is the socialist party bosses that pushed for their nomination.  Hence the system continues.

The only bright spot is that the kids are now realizing the scam and are skipping the whole cesspool of college depravity.  Voting with your wallet can win!
