BLOG UPDATE

Cocowest Blog - Personal Update - Costco West Fan Blog

It seems bloggers are having a harder time these days. Blue State Conservative closed up shop on December 31 after a couple years. I was surprised. The guys running the site came to me at their outset and asked for advice. I posted many of their articles and they posted my articles. I thought their site looked very professional and they had a good roster of writers. Madame DeFarge, one of their writers, has found a new home here. I don’t know why they shut down, but I do know running a blog 365 days per year isn’t easy.

The really sad news is that Andrei (The Saker) has decided to close down his blog, The Vineyard of the Saker. I know he has grown more pessimistic about the growing conflict between Russia, NATO and the U.S. He has lived in the U.S. for over two decades, but he is Russian. I don’t know what his plans are, but he expects a growing conflict between Russia and the U.S. His site is a go to for me, as it is one of the few sites where you can get the truth about the Ukraine War. His regular writers would certainly be welcome at TBP.

I know many people have complained about the volume and type of ads on my site, as I have been forced to use lower level ad companies because the better ones have banned TBP. Some websites won’t link to TBP because of the offensive ads. So, you may or may not have realized I’ve pulled the plug on four ad companies, leaving only two at this point. As you also may have noticed, I’ve been reinstated by a large merchandise company that had banned TBP six years ago. I’m hoping that revenue will make up for the deletion of the four ad companies. That will be up to you the readers.

At the end of the day, donations will still be the lifeblood of TBP. I’m trying to upgrade the user experience, hoping to get more visitors. I’ve reinstated some links I had let slip – Recommended Books, Favorite Websites, Archive Articles. I haven’t had much luck getting other sites to link to our posts. I’ve tried to get Liberty Daily, Rumor Mill News, Free Republic, Godlike Productions, and Reddit to link to our articles, with little success. Maybe you guys would have better luck posting links on these sites.

We’ll play it be ear for now, as I’m always expecting to be knocked down when dealing with these big boys.  I will get up every time I’m knocked down and keep fighting, even after I should quit.

Chumbawumba, Admin. TBP is a beacon of light ( amid fire, alarms and smoke, screaming, oil spills and toxic chemicals….) in an unbelievably fucked-up world.

Plain english not meant to be mean, despite the pressure relief fun stuff that’s unique and TBP’s very admirable long history of no censorship and the means to post anonymously, I see TBP as in great pattern stagnation.

It’s not much different than any of the other boats stagnating in the cesspool of repeaters of way way too much of the same half awake and/or dead wrong garbage. This alienates fully awake people from staying around, hence stagnating the commenting participants to largely a very short list of longtime names who pop up way too repeatedly which enhances the feeling of stagnation even if their output is regularly intelligent.

What if TBP left the cesspool, refreshed and became a leader known for strictly limiting reposts to only fully awake, intelligent researchers, pundits and podcasters, only forward thinking visionaries and well researched exposures of factual truth that make fools of the cesspool pontificator circuit? What if TBP refreshed to being known for what the world needs more than ever right now? What if the theories of well vetted cutting edge thinkers of reality and physics were up for discussion regularly too? New people would flock here and stay.

I don’t need to read one more article by any hopeless idiot who still refers to a contagious CV as if it existed. I don’t need to see any article that only generates comments that say ‘ya, isn’t that garbage’. I don’t need to see any repeat of anything with charts or facts that are not provable. I don’t need to see any grandiose political fearmongering of any kind. There are HUGE numbers of very intelligent people being ignored in lieu of repeating cesspool garbage.

I think any forum that breaks pattern first, gets strict about leaving out garbage and does it well will rocket to a vibrant new place and own the prime spot for a long time.

Who are your examples of these visionaries and cutting edge thinkers? Can you please share via a guest post? Admin allows this. Not trying to be antagonistic. Just trying to understand.

I think there should be room for satire and humour as IMHO it’s a powerful antidote to arrogance and hubris. I love the fun-times on TBP all with a clear message. Now we know the truth this is really cutting:

I have no idea why you project that on TBP exclusively.

I see pretty much all serious blogs in a stagnant pattern now, as all has been said, every stone has been turned, and no quick or even medium-term paths towards real situational improvement [in the West] can be found. And as pretty much everyone in the West -including the most red-pilled folks- have received a life-long conditioning to expect quick, or at least within planning horizon (~5yr), fixes or noticeable improvements, they are slowly giving up.

I can tell, because if I had no bigger plan (that’s emigrating to Russia), I would be in exactly the same boat.

Overthrowing the State: Murray N. Rothbard on the political thought of 16th-century libertarian Étienne de la Boétie.

Overthrowing the State

EXCERPT:
. . . for La Boétie the central problem of political theory: why in the world do people consent to their own enslavement? La Boétie cuts to the heart of what is, or rather should be, the central problem of political philosophy: the mystery of civil obedience. Why do people, in all times and places, obey the commands of the government, which always constitutes a small minority of the society? To La Boétie the spectacle of general consent to despotism is puzzling and appalling:

I should like merely to understand how it happens that so many men, so many villages, so many cities, so many nations, sometimes suffer under a single tyrant who has no other power than the power they give him; who is able to harm them only to the extent to which they have the willingness to bear with him; who could do them absolutely no injury unless they preferred to put up with him rather than contradict him. Surely a striking situation! Yet it is so common that one must grieve the more and wonder the less at the spectacle of a million men serving in wretchedness, their necks under the yoke, not constrained by a greater multitude than they…

We are living Atlas Shrugged except there’s no Galt’s Gulch or supranormal machine to come and save us. Kudos to Admin, I admire a man who fights the good fight, especially in such a massive environment of ‘Woke’ censorship. When I first listened to the snowflakes carrying on I thought it was a bad joke, a bit of silliness that in no ways could be taken seriously or even paid any attention to. Sadly, little did I realize that a harsh reality was settling on the land and that soon the asylum would soon be overrun and the lunatics would hold all the positions of power and any semblance of sanity would get one censured or worse…

Perhaps this is how the Romans felt towards the end of the empire?

Another cobbled together “explanation.”
Mass delusions / mass formations occurred before the internet as well, and in very large scale.
The people involved don’t see it as suicide, currently they see it as “limitless freedom [including e.g. choosing your gender] or death.”
And that’s all just a variant of Dostoevsky’s realization “if there is no God [=limiting morality], everything is allowed.”
Which puts the root cause back to Luther, or even 1054.

One reason the “USA” is adrift and failing is the lack of any shared (and “true-enough”) religious or metaphysical basis.

The Chicoms have both Confucius and Mao, and the Russians the Patriarchate, while most residents of the FUSA have only a mish-mash of Freemasonry, Judaism and Oliver Cromwell, lightly seasoned with Joel Osteen, Hugh Hefner and Tony Robbins.

The FUSA might possibly have a future as some sort of free-trade zone, but as a nation-state it is already history, and is not coming back. There is no “here” here.

I never thought of the trams thing as mass suicide, I think of it as a sort of mass insanity, but to call it a mass suicide …sure definitely a.suicide of the civilization.

AT, I’m not sure some of this is avoidable in 2023. The 2020 election changed and damaged our country in ways almost beyond comprehension. The value of even groundbreaking analysis became in many ways moot. Absent severe and dramatic action, we’re just along for the ride. Whether we like it or not.

Seems to me you’ve got two options to stay online (at a profit): Increase revenue or cut overhead costs. I’ve been out of the game for a while, but have you looked into a less expensive server host? Host Gator was by far the best game in town when I was in the game. I ran several sites with unlimited throughput and storage for $110 per YEAR. I was also impressed with their suite of admin tools.

The Central Scrutinizer

This thought is not particularly helpful to you, but it may shed a little light in a dark room.

As I sat here thinking about all the sites I had been censored on and banned from, the ONE comfort I retain is the fact that I never gave any of them a fucking dime.

I understand that you stand apart from the shitheels inhabiting the webz, but if I were to donate and then be banned (a thing outside my control) I would have heaped my own injury on top of your insult…as it were.

I’m gonna need more time for confidence to build before I accept that risk. The pride of Man is not a small thing, but it is fragile.

I follow several‘homesteader’ outfits and these people make 3 figure incomes from their endeavors. They built them up and tell others how they did it.
Now in Jim’s case it would require it becoming pretty much full time job. See The Prairie Homestead, and Farmhouse on Boone to start.
One of these- the top one- I really liked and even thought of joining for the ‘insiders’ content. Then after years of articles etc. she has one that included CLIMATE CHNAGE. Yuck. Glad I did not pay for it.

I 2nd Avalon’s sentiments, Mary Christine. Primary demographic here is pretty obvious. For the unaware, it’s mostly conservative leaning freedom loving traditionalist men between 40-70.
Obviously there are numerous outliers and exceptions to the majority.
I like how, even amidst the ads, the occasional T&A, the language, there are about 12+ more very well versed women who have contributed in countless ways to this place.
MC, T4C, Dani, Shep, Svarga, Auntie, Leah, Ghost, and the occasionals…My Girl(maybe), Abigail, and a few more I either can’t recall at the moment, or whose moniker isn’t gender revealing.
Mea culpa, to those I missed.

In the years I’ve been around, I’ve only seen JQ drop the ban hammer 2 or 3 times max, and it was deserved in each instance. The
Admin team is very tolerant, besides keeping the place running, in the face of numerous challenges and obstacles.
As a community, it’s incredible how many rally in support of a fellow monkey, in times of stress, illness, grief, seeking advice, and much more.
I’ve developed at least 3-4 strong connection bonds off platform with a few whom have graciously accommodated that reach-out gesture, and those private friendships have just bloomed and grown, cementing strong bonds that will never be forgotten or forsaken.
~ Grateful for all of the above.
Cheers!

Many thx for the site and the hard work that goes into it.

The cost of freedom unfortunately does not come cheap, for if freedom were cheap it would then lose its value. I have no income and not wealthy, but I will keep sending the little I can when I can. I love my freedoms and TBP is an advocate for my voice so I will continue to support my family here.

Thank you again for all you do.

I really like this site. I do agree alt media is stuck in reaction mode on all levels- Covid, economy, war, society. No new ideas.

I listen (while working) to several podcasts by millennials. They are the new adults you know. They are stuck, too. A lot of it is talking about the other ‘star’ alt media people. Many of them are also stuck in the ‘give the guy a break’ mode even if they are obviously fake (somehow have million dollar sponsors and first hand reports say they’re jerks). Being nice and inclusive.
* they do have a money making procedure you should check out (which always seems to include vitamins). Many are in it for that so the formula is a good one.

We have become conformist on so many levels we can’t even see most of it. Here almost anything is welcome if only people write it. Example: we obviously have no government (hardly any articles on that), what to do about it (always the same old stuff- organize: to what purpose is never said, have demonstrations & meetups: not lasting and both of these will get co-opted,)
Anyway the whole point is what is truly revolutionary without having an Actual violent revolution (which is what they want)? Many freedom people are straight shooters and just want to get the job done but the new thing is always more of the same or worse.
I’m not saying many are bad just not out of the echo chamber.
HSF is the most revolutionary.

You know what I wonder about? Supposedly TV news has practically no viewers, so how did it supposedly have so much sway over convincing THE WORLD that there was a pandemic, etc.? Ditto everything else.

Was it alt news reporting on what TV said? Or alt news reporting what the experts say , thus reinforcing even if rebutting?

I’ve mentioned the top prepper sites fell for the fake pandemic for a long time. The question is why? What were they ingesting that made them believe?
*I think one thing was the ongoing emphasis/indoctrination everywhere of HEALTH (even the good stuff) for long before the Covid operation.

I see it other places like believing the Twitter/Elon musk thing, Tucker Carlson is anything more than a talking head, even believing the Fourth Turning is anything more than all the elite freaks writings that tell us what is going to happen (or what is planned).

Propaganda of course, but how did skeptics get taken in? We should all examine this in ourselves.

Uncola

I, too, would like to thank Jim, Avalon, and TMWNN for all of their efforts on TBP and in the support of free speech.

Although my articles may not often go completely viral, I am grateful for Jim’s willingness to post them here and for the ensuing commentary on TBP which definitely helps to filter the daily B.S. of The Borg and its Orwellian Media.

My most recent (“Abolition of Man”) article may not have permeated as much of the blogosphere as previous articles, but I did receive pingbacks from blogs and sites I had not seen before, added some readers to my regular distribution lists (including one from French Polynesia), and did see that it was translated into Spanish, too.

Sometimes “The Butterfly Effect”, other times ripples in the pond, and whatever will be will be.

In the meantime, I still think TBP is the coolest little digital airport bar on the web. And please don’t forget to tip the TPB staff. They’re worth it 🙂

My biggest frustration is when reading comment threads on the phone, every time a new comment is posted, the whole thing reloads and I have to find where I left off. I first became aware of this site in about 2018 from one of Jim’s articles. I do not recall which article it was from back then (it’s the brain drain), but I read it on another site which linked here. Thereafter, I dropped in from time to time, lurking and browsing, because I liked the honesty I was reading by some pretty sharp folks.

It was not until CONVID, which I knew from the beginning was a massive psyop, that I started coming here regularly; TBP was one of the only sites that was uncensored and stayed that way.

The information I received here all became real to me when my father was murdered by the medical establishment back in August, 2020. Everything I read about how the doctors were abandoning all previously accepted medical protocols, about them trying to kill the elderly, about ventilators and Remdesivir and keeping their victims in quarantine — it was all true. I got to stand by in complete shock, feeling absolutely powerless and righteously angry, having only FaceTime (when the doctor could get around to it, what with her busy schedule) to see my father, with tubes down his throat and an oxygen mask on, wither away.

Thanks to these people, the last time I ever saw my father he was unconscious… but had tears running down his cheeks. I will never forgive or forget this. They had better hope God shows them more mercy than that which I am capable.

My father deserved better; he was a good, decent, law-abiding man, a former Mason who later found the church again, who always had a job and supported our family. He was not abusive, rarely drank. He should not have died, even at his age: a ripe old 87. He had pneumonia, which, left untreated (in favor of “CONVID protocols”), ultimately killed him.

Yet of course, on his death certificate it reads CONVID PNEUMONIA. Well, at least they got it half right.

I was, and still am, going through a lot of turmoil inside and out, but the important thing is, the support I got from the people on this site, the outpouring of love, really affected me. I needed you people, and you were here for me. That means more than I can say. I feel like I can truly call some of you friends, even if we never have or will meet in-person; this is one of the few times I have felt like the Internet does help like-minded people find each other.

I felt strongly enough about that to go and actually meet some of you at Marc’s July 4th bash, even though it is almost cross-country for me, because I wanted to see you genuinely, and I was not let down in the least. Beautiful people, good food, and a most gracious host; what more could I ask?

(I even got to set eyes on the babest of babes, Svarga Loka, as she chased around her kids. She’s real, guys! And her husband is just about the coolest cat ever!)

Anyway, I said all that to say, as long as J&D choose to keep this going, I will be here. You got my heart and my money. I am sincerely grateful to you for all you have done, and you have my full backing in anything you do in the future, if need be.

Thank you all, my TBP friends, from the bottom of my heart.

Svarga Loka
Svarga Loka

What a heartfelt comment. I don’t think I ever knew who you were on July 4th, which I have now added to my list of regrets in life. Only Seebee and Tim told me who they were. My husband wasn’t there though. Maybe you mistook Archie for my husband, with all my arm touching? In any case, hopefully, we’ll get another chance to meet some day.

Captain_Obviuos
Captain_Obviuos

OK, it may not have been your husband I met then. Either way, he’s still an awesome guy, whoever he is.

I was the fella wearing sunglasses and colorful shirts/shorts who was constantly running around trying to help out if I could. I threw those huge beach balls back and forth with your kids on the trampoline. I probably just ended up getting on Marc’s nerves, but not as much as Winnie did when he broke Marc’s lawn mower. I wish I had that on film, with him heaving the mower across the lawn, that was epic. Worth the price of admission right there.

Anyhow, though you may not remember me, I do you, and it’s a good memory!

As soon as you can do so, change the model to subscription based, just like Epoch Times and others. Perhaps Patreon, perhaps something else. Just don’t wait too long. It’s going to occur, fast. It is occuring now.
