Lots of great songs that year–more than this entire century so far. Just look at the top 100; dozens of great songs. God, I miss good music.

Thanks for posting The Carpenters.

Here’s another couple from them in 1970.

This Elton John video is a beauty.
They went to Sydney Australia to do it with some professional dancers they hired.

This U2 video of this famous tune is a favorite also.

Apologies to the max! Links got scrambled by old brain and fat fingers.
Here are both.

Props for Ball of Confusion.
More things change, the more they stay the same.
Have a great memory about a girl from that song in my early days.

In The Summertime was / is a good one, too from those days.

Even Neil’s guitar noodling couldn’t mess up this classic version of Joni’s song.

Oh, I like her meditative chant version of it so much better than that commercialed-up rocker. Here she is, doing it live on piano and explaining its origin:

Gosh, she was a knockout, too.

Her other versions:

That sounded so hard and raw compared to everything else back, except for Iggy Pop, Blue Cheer, and The Who.

CCR was my favorite back then. The early 70’s we’re the best days of rock.

September 1970 and I was a freshman in college when they brought Three Dog Night to town for a concert. It was the first concert I had ever attended and we were packed in like sardines in the basketball arena that had no A/C. When they sang “Open up the window let some air in the room”, we went crazy.

Jefferson Starship was a favorite of mine … Jefferson Airplane plus Jorma Kakounen, David Crosby, Steven Stills and others played the concerts.

Their greatest album (my opinion) was the 1970 ‘Blows Against The Empire’ … and here are a couple of cuts …

Sunrise … Grace Slick vocals …

Have You Seen The Stars Tonight …

A Child Is Coming …

The Baby Tree …
